Doomben (Saturday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Doomben. Today’s best bet is in race 1.

Fri, 13 Oct, 1:51 AM

Back to Doomben after almost a month away, apart from a midweek meeting. Unfortunately, the track cut up at that meeting meaning the best going on Saturday will be on the inside and should suit leaders. It is a usual off season Saturday meetings which means there will be upsets in big fields.

No1 HOPES ETERNAL (BEST BET) Ran a record when won his first start at Toowoomba in a good field. Has trained on well and stable is in great form. The one to beat.

No4 SOARING HEART Bred to want further but has won a trial and the softer track should suit here at first start.

No1 MISHANI BULLITT (NEXT BEST BET) Has been racing well but hampered by big weights last few when placed. The stable has elected to claim 3kgs here and that means he should win.

No4 ZOFONIC DANCER Unbeaten in two starts at the Sunshine Coast and gives every indication 1600m will suit very well.

No6 NIVO Has run third at her past two starts and with any luck would have won both. The 1600m suits and has a light weight. Strong each-way hope.

No7 STAR STILETTO Provincial and country form good with a second at Ballina last time in a good field. Well drawn here to get run of the race.

No4 SILIQUA Gets back in his races and is always flashing home. Bad barrier won't hurt as he needs to get to the outside in the straight to run home.

No10 NILETTE Never runs bad race this track and winner here two starts back. Solid third at the Sunshine Coast last time. Ready to win again.

No7 SCRABBLE Looked winner at the 200m last start at the Sunshine Coast but run over late. Better this trip and has handy form this track.

No2 JETSONIC Has run home strongly for minor placings past three starts. The pace should be on here and that will suit him. Ready to win.

No9 MUSTARRID Set a cracking pace and kept going when second at the Sunshine Coast last start. Good winner previous two starts and can win this.

No3 LORDAG Strong winner this track and distance two starts back and then close up when fifth at 1800m at the Sunshine Coast. Always an each-way hope.

No2 EMPHASIS Just a run first-up at the Sunshine Coast two weeks ago but always goes better second-up and loves this track and distance.

No6 MYSTIC OPAL Good effort first-up but that may have taken the edge of her as two run since have been handy but not great. But out to the right distance now and rates a hope.
