A usual Saturday standard Gold Coast meeting. The track is playing well but there has been rain. It will be probably play to front runners until it starts to cut up late.

QUADDIES (races 5, 6,7,8)

Skinny Play:  2,4/1,9/4,6/3

Wide Play:  2,3,4,8/1,3,5,9/2,4,6,9/2,3,5,8

BEST BET: R8 – 3. SHARP SPEEDO

Next Best Bet:  R4 – 7. BLUE SEATTLE

Best Roughie: R3 – 2. PIXIE HOLLOW

R1 - 12.38pm. Diesel Leaders Maiden Plate - 1800m.

No3 MAKING SHADOWS Has been racing well in far harder maidens and gets his chance to win a race here. Hasn't been further back than fourth past five starts.

No4 NAUGHTY CORNER Placed three of past four starts and latest third this track indicates 1800m will be ideal.

No5 QUIRION Good second this track last start and breed usually handle the wet.

No9 KASTANOS Was our best roughie last start and was backed for a stack before leading and tiring to finish fourth. Better ridden from behind.

VALUE RUNNER: No4 NAUGHTY CORNER

R2 - 1.13pm. DIESEL LEADERS Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Handicap - 1200m.

No8 HACKSAW RIDGE Much better run last start when second this track back in June. Stable has a good record with first-up horses.

No4 SONIC BLOOM Has trialled very well for comeback run here. Had good form this track last year and has been placed in the wet.

No3 DUKE OF FREDERICK Has been placed past four of five starts in the northern rivers. This is no harder and each-way claims.

No1 LORD OF THE DREAMZ First starter who has trialled very well and this isn't hard. Barrier is a worry.

VALUE RUNNER: No1 LORD OF DREAMZ

R3 - 1.48pm. DIESEL LEADERS Fillies and Mares Maiden Handicap - 1200m.

No1 MENA'S CHOICE Two runs from a spell have been okay and has been placed this track in handy company. Won a trial nicely before resuming and ready to win this weak race.

No2 PIXIE HOLLOW (BEST ROUGHIE) Had two runs on soft tracks last campaign and was far from disgraced. This is weak and should go well fresh.

No5 PRINCESS DEVINE Has some handy form in the northern rivers so that is good enough to trouble these.

No3 BRILEE ROSE Nicely bred first starter who has not had a trial. From an in-form stable so respect.

VALUE RUNNER: No2 PIXIE HOLLOW

R4 - 2.23pm. DIESEL LEADERS QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate - 1100m.

No7 BLUE SEATTLE (NEXT BEST BET) Ran much better than odds suggested when first-start second this track two weeks ago. Looks very hard to beat with natural improvement from race experience.

No5 THE HUSSLER Had good form for a race like this last campaign and wasn't asked to do a lot when fourth in a recent Doomben trial.

SCRATCHED No2 JOEL Well-bred first starter who caught the eye winning recent Doomben trial. Demands respect.

No1 BIGGER THAN TEXAS Good effort to finish third in a far stronger maiden this track last start. Chance again.

VALUE RUNNER: No2 JOEL

R5 - 2.58pm. DIESEL LEADERS Class 3 Handicap - 1400m.

No4 RITCHFORD Took 19 starts to win a race but has won two of past three and third in the other. Racing very well and this is weak. Has been placed in the wet.

No2 RAGGLE VARR Was only fair first-up at the Sunshine Coast but this is far easier and would win this on best form.

No3 SHEZA LILY Won two races this track before a spell. She has plenty of ability and has not trialled. Will want more ground but chance here fresh.

No8 DAVOR Started big odds but charged home to win at Beaudesert last start. Chance on that run.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 SHEZA LILY

R6 - 3.38pm. DIESEL LEADERS Class 1 Handicap - 1300m.

No5 AMERIDON Rated good enough to take to New Zealand for the Karaka Million this year. Two runs from a spell have been okay and ready to win.

No1 WINDCATCHER Has his share of ability and good third first up at the Sunshine Coast. Looks a main player here.

No3 HANG Was very heavily backed when won a maiden at Ipswich first-up. Has always shown promise.

No9 JINX ‘N’ DRINX Has a terrific record this track with a win and four minor placings from five starts here. Looks very well placed in a tough race.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 HANG

R7 - 4.18pm. DIESEL LEADERS Class 4 Handicap - 900m.

No2 AMBER JEWEL Smart galloper who ran into trouble when unplaced back in July. Form previously was very good and loves soft tracks.

No6 REAL CUTE Was once a speed machine but showing more stamina. Good effort to dead heat for a win last time this track.

No4 BRAT ATTACK Has hit a patch of good form with a win this track and distance and then third this track in harder race last time.

No9 ROUND MOUNTAIN GEM Resuming here and has trialled well. Loves wet tracks so any moisture and back her each-way.

VALUE RUNNER: No9 ROUND MOUNTAIN GEM

R8 - 4.53pm. COASTAL TIPPER HIRE Class 2 Handicap - 1800m.

No3 SHARP SPEEDO (BEST BET) Fitter for strong placings in harder races at past two starts. This looks ideal and he should break through for a win here. He is very good in the wet.

No5 BAR FLY BARRISTER Handy placing at Doomben last start indicates this trip will suit. Placed twice on very heavy tracks.

No2 GEOMETRIST Placed twice recently including one this track and distance. Is an obvious danger.

No8 TIARNAN Took a while to win his maiden last start but this looks an ideal distance for him now.

VALUE RUNNER: No5 BAR FLY BARRISTER
