Randwick for Everest Day. The $10m race is finally here and boy are we in for a big day, I expect 30k to cram into Randwick Saturday and what a day of racing we have. Ten brilliant races to bet into and I cannot wait to get stuck into it. Rain about coming into the meeting, track should be soft at worst. Rail +6m.

QUADDIES (races 7-8-9-10)

Skinny Play:  3,12  -  1,2  -  1  -  FIELD

Wide Play:  1,3,8,12  -  1,2,10  -  1  -  3,4,6,7,8,12,17

BEST BET: R9 – 1. HAPPY CLAPPER

Next Best Bet: R1 – 12. DON’T GIVE A DAMN

Best Roughie: R10 – 12. REBEL MISS

R1 – 12.05pm. TAB Highway Consolation - 1400m.

No12 DON’T GIVE A DAMN (NEXT BEST BET) should just be making a mess of this field here. His win last start in the highway was nothing short of spectacular. He only needs a touch of luck from gate 17 and he will be winning this.

No3 MY TAGOSON has been good winning his past two in good order at this track. The big field will help him find his feet and power over them late. The trial since the last start win has been quite good and I have to give him a chance.

No5 ZAMEX has a pretty good second-up record and is the first of the M Dunn horses that I have found here in either highway races. From nine starts he has won four and he has won two at highway level. The 1400m should be no issue at all.

No6 ALLITERATE was a good winner of a midweek race last start getting up the fence and holding off Baysa. From gate 14, Collett is going to get back in the run here and come at them with one run late.

VALUE RUNNER: No5 ZAMEX

R2 – 12.40pm Nielsen Sports Victory Vein Plate - 1000m.

No1 SANTOS was quite good on debut when he was wide throughout in the run there and finished off quite well. The colts look to have an advantage early days on the girls here and horses who have had a start always improve at start two in the 2yo season.

No7 LEGEND OF CONDOR has had only the one trial coming into the debut run here and did so in very good style without being let off the bit. If he can get to the front and control the speed he will be hard to beat.

No8 MUNICH has had two very good trials coming into the debut run. I love horses who trialled well away from home and come to their home track for their debut runs. From gate 3, Bowman is going to get a great run behind the leaders here and looks hard to beat.

No2 SPIN was quite good in the Gimcrack and gets a soft run of it from barrier 1 here. He should improve for the experience and be in the finish.

VALUE RUNNER: No 8 MUNICH

R3 – 1.15pm. The Daily Telegraph Reginald Allen Quality - 1400m.

No7 WORKDRINKS has been good in all three runs this time in and comes out of a very hot race last start at Rosehill behind Demarara. She now gets the blinkers on for the first time here and will be something to beat here.

No1 REGIMEN has been very good winning three of four starts thus far and all in pretty good style. She has to lug the big weight here of 59kgs which is a tough ask of a 3yo filly to do. But the way she has been winning as of late, I cannot ignore her.

No4 SWEET DEAL wasn’t too bad in the Flight Stakes and we know that form will hold up well, this is three levels back from that sort of a race and gets a good weight of 54.5kg here rather than the set weights.

No5 YULONG XINGSHENG comes out of the same race as Workdrinks last start and I am a form of that race. She has always looked as if a mile is going to suit her and she finally gets to it here. The booking of McEvoy has me more keen on her.

VALUE RUNNER: No5 YULONG XINGSHENG

R4 – 1.50pm. TAB Anniversary Highway - 1400m.

No8 PUMPKIN PIE drops well in grade here and looks as if she has been set for this race coming back to country level. She was only three lengths off the winner last start in a Group 2 race. Getting to 1400m and Randwick suit as she is a winner at the track and distance before.

No11 SUNCRAZE will be dropping on them late here. He has won his last two in very good order and has finally showed that potential we always thought he had. The trial since the run has been quite good. If he gets luck from gate 7 in the big field he can blow them away.

No6 AFTER ALL THAT was next to Pumpkin Pie in the shorts and finished off well and the step up to 1400m looked as if it would suit here. He gets a soft run on the map here and will be in the finish.

No3 DELIGHTFUL FEELING won well last start and gets a good run on the map here from gate 1. He is the top M Dunn horse for me and fourth-up he looks set to peak.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 DELIGHTFUL FEELING

R5 – 2.25pm. The Star Mile - 1600m.

No11 INVINCIBELLA won well first-up from a spell and showed that she had come back much better. She has run three placings at second up runs and drops to 53.5kgs here. She is a winner at Randwick in the past and looks hard to beat.

No8 OAKLAHOMA GIRL comes out of a good race last start in which the form has held up quite well already. Second-up to 1600m here isn’t going to be an issue and the trial since the fresh run was quite good.

SCRATCHED No7 BLACK ON GOLD was a good winner first-up from a spell in what looked to be a nice enough public holiday race. His second-up record is a touch of a worry as he has never done anything second-up before, but the way he won fresh shows he has come back better.

No6 SOUCHEZ backs up quickly here and gets a good jockey change, he needs to be pushed into a race to show his best and if Brown can do that here, he will be in the finish.

VALUE RUNNER: No7 BLACK ON GOLD

R6 –3.00pm. Heineken 3 St Leger Stakes - 2600m.

No1 LIBRAN was quite poor in the Metropolitan, but exchange price suggested he would run that way. He had top weight there and meets all his rivals at level weights now. Dry track is what he wants and if it stays dry lookout.

No2 BIG DUKE was outstanding in the Metropolitan and just missed there. The weight swing against him isn’t too bad here and he gets a super soft run on the map from barrier 2. If he has taken any improvement from last start he will go close to winning here.

No4 WHO SHOT THE BARMAN will be at his peak here. You would love to own him as he turns up week in week out and gets the job done. Shinn knows him well and he will be in the finish again.

No7 FOUNDATION has been going quite well and was never in the hunt last start in Melbourne, the step up to 2600m now is suitable and he will be in the hunt again.

VALUE RUNNER: No7 FOUNDATION

R7 – 3.35pm. Sydney Stakes - 1200m.

No12 IN HER TIME should be considered very unlucky to not be in the Everest after the first-up win two weeks ago (Yes you Brave Smash) beating basically half of the Everest field. She was well prepped up that day, but did look to have improvement. If she was going to be a chance there, she should go close here.

No8 DERRYN probably wants some rain to come between now and raceday. But there is nothing wrong with his Sydney form. Three starts for two wins and that loss was in the TJ Smith when on the wrong part of the track. I don’t think he is a 1000m horse and was unsuited fresh. Good second-up record, goes in.

No3 IMPENDING ties in with In Her Time her for beating her in the Stradbroke in the Winter. He looks to have come back in really good order this time in and his trials have indicated that. His fresh record is quite good and gate 17 from the chute doesn’t worry me as he can come at them with one run.

No1 TAKEDOWN has been good in what have been the Everest lead up races. He has been equal to both English and Chautauqua in both of those runs and that form ties in well and he is a chance.

VALUE RUNNER: No8 DERRYN

R8 – 4.15pm. The TAB Everest - 1200m

No2 VEGA MAGIC has been nothing short of brilliant since coming across from WA with a 3/3 record and winning two Group 1 races in the process. All along D Hayes has said “Everest” with this bloke and he is such a genuine horse Sydney going first time won’t worry. C Williams has a bit to do from the gate, but he is flying.

No1 CHAUTAUQUA let's keep this simple, don’t worry about where he has finished in both runs this time in. Think the bigger picture. Peak third-up for $10million. That has been the plan all along and he has been smashing the line. We know his Randwick 1200m record is amazing. Well third-up he is 5:3-1-1. He will be peaking and Vega Magic will be praying he just misses.

No10 SHE WILL REIGN stamped herself as the Everest favourite with a huge win first-up in the Moir, she was one of the only horses all night to come from off the pace and off the fence and was just dazzling late. All along she has been aimed to peak here. Her 1200m record is good, she gets a dream run just behind them and with 51kgs she has to go in.

No5 CLEARLY INNOCENT is a big player here, he usually peaks second-up from a spell and did win a Group 1 in Brisbane second up last time in. He was very good fresh finding the line very well. He gets a good sit in behind the speed and I will not be shocked to see him power over them late.

VALUE RUNNER: No5 CLEARLY INNOCENT

R9 – 4.55pm. Aqualand Craven Plate - 2000m.

No1 HAPPY CLAPPER (BEST BEST) will just be winning this, he comes out of his Epsom win last start and meets everyone at level weights here. He was utterly dominant in the Epsom winning his career peak there. From gate 1 he gets the perfect run again and will make a mess of them.

No4 STAR EXHIBIT has been going quite well this time in and looks the exacta horse

No5 CLASSIC UNIFIORM is the leader here and will give all he can, if he gets his own way he will be hard to run down.

No9 EMBLEY looks next best here.

VALUE RUNNER: 1 – 4/5 Exacta

R10 – 5.30pm. Sydney Harbour Exclusive Sprint - 1000m.

No8 MACHINEGUN JUBS has been trialing up well coming into the first-up run here, at her best she is a very good sprinter and gets the pace to suit here and could finish over the top of them.

No3 LATIN BOY can’t do anything else other than what he has been doing this time in and that is winning, the big weight isn’t going to be an issue for him whatsoever and he has to be included yet again.

No6 OZARK found the line well last start in a race that wasn’t run to suit. Coming back to the 1000m here suits as he will get the speed on, and with even luck he can power over them.

No12 REBEL MISS (BEST ROUGHIE) was quite good when winning last start and brings very good form to this race. The trial between the runs was quite good and she does look to get a touch of cover on the map and won’t be cluttered up turning for home.

VALUE RUNNER: No12 REBEL MISS
