Kembla Grange is our Thursday Provincial meeting this week and we have eight races on the card. Small fields are the order of the day, it is a meeting that lacks depth but there are a few solid races with some nice types going around and hopefully we can find some winners. The weather is fine, we will be racing on a good surface with the rail in the +7m position.

QUADDIES (races 5-6-7-8)

Skinny Play: 3,4  -  6,11  -  1  -  2,3

Wide Play: 3,4,5  -  6,9,11  -  1  -  2,3,4,9

BEST BET: R2 – 2. HAIL THE HERO

Next Best Bet: R7 – 1. GRESHAM

Best Roughie: R4 – 4. CALL ME TESS

R1 – 1.15pm. Tasman Sea 3YO Maiden Handicap - 1400m.

No1 KORMA was contesting strong city races before coming here and narrowly getting beaten, resumes coming off two trials and looks the one with the most upside.

No6 SWEET VICTORY did a good job on debut, with natural improvement and the step up to 1400m looks no concern, this filly can be in the finish.

No4 FORTUNE’S PATH went well at Newcastle first up, should take improvement from the run and stepping up to 1400m looks a positive.

No3 ALL TOO SOON will probably want further distance over time but this is much easier than what she was contesting in her first preparation.

VALUE RUNNER: No1 KORMA

R2 – 1.50pm. Mullet Creek Mile Class 1 Handicap - 1600m.

No2 HAIL THE HERO (BEST BET) ran second behind city competitive horse before going to a maiden last start at Newcastle and destroying his rivals, the step up to 1600m looks perfect and I think this gelding will be very hard to beat.

No1 FANTASTIC MAN is a talented type that I’ve always had an opinion of, maps well and looks set to peak third-up at the mile.

No5 BADGE OF GAMENESS comes out of a strong city race last start, this is much easier.

No6 ROYAL STAMP is only going OK, if can get on the speed might give them something to catch stepping back from the 1900m.

VALUE RUNNER: No2 HAIL THE HERO

R3 – 2.25pm. Duck Creek Dash Maiden Plate - 1000m.

No1 DREAM I CAN has been very consistent without being able to score a victory, this is a horrible race and he can break through here.

No2 EL VEE ARE has also been very consistent without being able to break through, today could be his day.

No7 I AM LEXUS didn’t do much in his first preparation, this race has no depth and could show improvement coming back as a 3yo.

No5 BOYISH hasn’t done much at all to date, but this race really lacks depth and could fill a placing.

VALUE RUNNER: No7 I AM LEXUS

R4 – 3.00pm. Five Islands Class 1 Handicap - 1000m.

No6 MARISHKA is coming out of city races, has been poor in her most recent two but the freshen up back to 1000m looks ideal.

No3 CATMOSPHERE came through strong city races before going to Wyong and getting the job done, can go on with it here.

SCRATCHED No4 CALL ME TESS (BEST ROUGHIE) resumes here coming from Melbourne, comes through strong races and wouldn’t surprise here at all.

SCRATCHED No8 I AM SPECIAL only won at Canberra last start but can’t knock winning form here.

VALUE RUNNER: No4 CALL ME TESS

R5 – 3.35pm. Illawarra Mercury Class 2 Handicap - 1200m.

No3 AANVOERDER is going very well this prep, has race fitness on her side where a lot of his main rivals are first up and she looks to map well.

No4 GO DADDY GO showed some talent in his first preparation, wouldn’t surprise.

No5 HOSTWIN MERAKI was undefeated before going to town and pulling up with an abrasion, competitive in this.

No2 VOILIER comes out of city races and will be on the speed.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 AANVOERDER

R6 – 4.10pm. Bellambi Lagoon Maiden Plate - 1300m.

SCRATCHED No11 PRETTY FAST resumes after contesting stronger races in her first prep, race experience a positive in this race.

No6 SEKIYAMA has been trialing well enough and must respect the connections.

SCRATCHED No9 ANTELOPE has been trialing well enough and once again much respect for the trainer.

No10 DIDN’T MENTION IT hasn’t done much, but has fitness and race experience on her side.

VALUE RUNNER: No6 SEKIYAMA

R7-- 4.45pm. Towradgi Park Maiden Handicap - 1500m.

No1 GRESHAM (NEXT BEST BET) has been racing well in town, comes here super fit, the 1500m looks no concern, looks to map well and I expect him to be too good for this lot.

No2 DESTINY’S HERO comes through city races and wouldn’t surprise in a race that lacks depth.

No4 RESONARE is next pick out of the raced horses, comes through OK races and can be amongst the finish here.

SCRATCHED No8 SEMPER FIDELIS has trialled well enough, could fill the placings.

VALUE RUNNER: No1 GRESHAM

R8 – 5.25pm. O’Briens Gap Benchmark 60 Handicap - 2000m

SCRATCHED No2 KIRINI comes out a city race last start where didn’t have much luck, 2000m looks no concern.

No3 AUDACIOUS CHOICE comes out of the same race as Kirini, will lead here and has the right connections.

No4 HUANG YAOSHI has been going well enough and step up to 2000m looks a positive.

No9 UNION DUES comes out of a city race first-up and has the right connections, the distance is an unknown.

VALUE RUNNER: No2 KIRINI
