There has been more than 120mm of rain in south east Queensland in the past week and Doomben has got plenty of it. The track is one of the best drying surfaces in Australia but no matter what it will be on the soft to heavy side. One tip, often horses with great wet track form at other racecourses can't go a yard at Doomben. It has a different base to most tracks so watch for those with wet form here at Doomben.

No2 BRINKMANSHIP (NEXT BEST BET) Very green at first race start when second at the Gold Coast. All the better for that run and on his breeding he should be able to handle the wet.
No9 RAINS APLENTY From a top two-year-old stable which insists he is their best juvenile. He will need to be from the outside barrier but has had a run when very green and third at the Gold Coast.
No10 SPIRIT OF CHEROKEE First starter who has not had an official trial. However he is reported to be smart and his dam's off spring usually handle wet tracks.
No1 YOU KNOW THE ONE Scored a win at big odds only start at the Gold Coast. Has race experience on his side.
VALUE RUNNER: No10 SPIRIT OF CHEROKEE
No7 HELLAROO Has good wet track form and a nice effort when fourth at the Sunshine Coast last start in a harder race. Barrier should be no worry on a wet track.
No1 HAY NOW Had some very strong Sydney form last campaign and now with Matt Dunn at Murwillumbah. Has had a trial and has solid wet track form.
No11 ROYAL HOOTENANNY (BEST ROUGHIE) Backing up from good heavy track win at Caloundra on Sunday. Loves wet tracks and chance again here.

No1 CANTBUYBETTER Listed race winner during the winter who hasn't run since July. Has some handy soft track form and does usually go very well fresh.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 HI I'M BACK
No10 REVALDOR On a dry track would be $21.00 in this but is a noted heavy track horse and never been out of a place on heavy going. Last few runs on dry tracks were good enough to give him a hope here.
No5 BREAK TIME Has been racing very well with wins at Ipswich at his past three starts. Soft track form is solid without being great.
No6 FALKIRK DRIVE Has finally had some luck in his races and winner past two starts including one on a heavy surface this track. This harder but shows promise.

No4 MISHANI EL LOBO Never runs a bad race and winner this track three starts back in a harder race. Has had three heavy track starts for a win and two seconds. Hard to beat.
No3 CHARLIE CAT Has always shown a lot of ability but to put it frankly was bonkers in some previous campaigns. Been better behaved of late and winner two recent races at the Gold Coast. Has won in soft going.
No6 SAINT PATRICKS DAY Listed winner as a two-year-old and now he is three he is taking on older horses first-up. But take a tip he is very good but may be one run short. Has never been on a dry track so wet no worry.
No8 CRUISE POWER Can be hard to catch but on best form would be in the finish here and has won in heavy going. Looks the value here.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 CHARLIE CAT
No3 MISS EXFACTOR Loves the sting out of the ground and she was very good leading all the way at the Gold Coast last start. Will get conditions to suit again.
No2 FREDDIE FOX TROT Has been racing very well with wins at his past three starts. This is the hardest task he has faced to date but looks hard to beat. He has never raced on a wet track.
No4 CORAL BAY Has improved with each run and had a trip to Sydney last start for a fourth behind a very promising horse. He is bred to be a wet tracker.

No7 THE AMATEUR Promising horse who is unbeaten this track and has won his past three starts. Likes to roll along in the lead. Never won in the wet but has been placed in it.
No6 SLYDINI Slogging win at Ipswich last start at this distance. Much tougher here but is very good on wet tracks and rates each-way appeal.
No12 NO ANNAMOSSITY Has struck winning form with impressive efforts to score past two starts. He is from a noted family of wet trackers so keep very safe.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 SLYDINI
