Ipswich (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Ipswich. Today’s best bet is in race 5

Tue, 24 Oct, 1:33 AM

Ipswich was abandoned last week after a down pour and there has been plenty of rain since. With it and Doomben washed out after three races the fields should hold up for this meeting despite the rail being out. But be careful because this track chops up badly when wet with big fields on it.

Next Best Bet: R3 – 8. WOODDITTON

Best Roughie: R2 – 6. NIVO

R1 - 1.08 pm. MELBOURNE CUP LUNCH ON SALE NOW Maiden Plate - 1700m.

No8 ARISTOCAT Good run last start when second at the Sunshine Coast and placed only run in the wet. On breeding will have no problem at 1700m.

No7 WOOLOOMAN SKY Racing much better on soft going of late and placed past two starts this track and then Beaudesert. Each-way again here.

No1 INVERARAY Has had his chance but placed three starts in similar company to this. Has solid wet track form and has to be rated highly here.

No11 PRINCELY SUM Plugging away in shorter races and might be suited at 1700m. Trained this track and placed only wet start.

R2 - 1.43pm. BOOK YOUR XMAS PARTY AT ITC QTIS 3YO Benchmark 65 Handicap - 1700m.

No2 MAHARNI Racing very well with placings in Saturday class three-year-olds past two starts. Stepping up in trip and wet a bit of a worry but still a main player.

No6 NIVO (BEST ROUGHIE) Ridden for pace last start which isn't the best and should be ridden off the speed. Well beaten last time but that was in a city race and far better placed here. Has won in the wet.

No1 HANG Has won his past two starts including one this track like a good horse. Failed only start in the wet but that was in a much better race. Hard to beat despite weight.

No3 NATURAL FORCE Good slogging win on a heavy track last start. This is harder but is a horse on the up.

R3 - 2.18pm. BOOK YOUR XMAS RACEDAY FUNCTION AT ITC Maiden Plate - 1350m.

No8 WOODDITTON (NEXT BEST BET) If any horse deserves to win it is Woodditton who has been placed all eight starts including only run in the wet. This isn't very hard and just beaten by a promising horse last start.

No6 LADY EIGHTY EIGHT Hasn't had much luck of late and in wrong part of the track when fourth at Doomben on a heavy track last time.

No3 INTERVENTIONS Has had a few problems in his career but recent form solid and placed past four starts on a variety of tracks. Deserves a win but wet a slight worry.

No10 FOXY AFFAIR Has trialled very well and good third at only race start at the Sunshine Coast.

R4 - 2.53pm. CHANNEL 7 QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate - 1200m.

No3 BOOM BOY Trialled very well and then had two solid seconds at only race starts. Drawn poorly here but should handle the wet track on his breeding.

No9 SPLITTER Another who is poorly drawn but has solid form with seconds past two starts and does handle the wet.

No10 TOUJOURS L'AMOUR Placed past two starts in easier maidens but getting fitter and should handle a wet track on breeding.

No4 ENTERPRISE MOSS Nice effort at only run in January and has had an easy recent trial recently. Respect.

R5 - 3.30pm. GET SOCIAL @IPSWICHTURFCLUB Class 3 Plate - 1050m.

No1 DANSU (BEST BET) Has been racing well with wins two of past three starts and no luck other run. Smart move to claim 3kgs here and gets in well at the weights. Has won only go in the wet.

No2 VALFIERNO Very good past two starts with strong wins and has excellent heavy track form. Looks the main quinella horse.

No6 THE MECHANIC Won two on end like a good horse and no luck last start when unplaced in a Saturday race. Has won on a soft track.

No7 REAL CUTE Far tougher these days with a win and two thirds past three starts. Another with good wet track form.

R6 - 4.10pm. GRAND CENTRAL HOTEL Class 4 Handicap - 1350m.

No5 DEER MOUNTAIN Good win first go this area and run down late by a noted wet tracker last start when second at the Gold Coast. Does have good wet track form.

No2 NIGHT ATTIRE Racing very honestly with two wins and a second past three starts in similar company to this. Wet track form is fair.

No1 LORD MARMADUKE Good fourth in a Saturday standard race last start and does like wet tracks. Has a 3kgs claim here which helps.

No11 THE MONK Doesn't win many but bobs up occasionally as he did this track two starts back. Not the worst here.

R7 - 4.50pm. MEADOWBROOK HOTEL Fillies & Mares Benchmark 65 Handicap- 1200m.

No4 HOT TALK Winner two of past three starts and second at the other in races no harder than this. Does relish wet ground and loves this distance.

No11 WINTER BRIDE Gold Coast winner first start this area and run down late this track when second latest. Wet track form is solid.

No2 SEQ THE STAR Has never lived up to early wraps but a consistent placegetter these type of races with four minor placings past four starts. Wet is a worry.

No3 HIDDEN GOLD Resuming here but has been placed twice fresh and does like wet tracks. Chance if there is a hot early pace.

R8 - 5.30pm. XXXX GOLD Colts, Geldings & Entires Benchmark 65 Handicap - 1200m.

No2 GO THE GANTRY Our rough bet last time when run down on the line in a similar race this this. Form good without winning and smart move to claim 3kgs here. Placed all three heavy track starts.

No1 AMANAAT Has been in very good form with strong Toowoomba wins past two. Has plenty of weight but has won on a soft track.

No3 JOMAR'S ELEMENT Has three wins and three minor placings from six goes this track. Last start fair at Sunshine Coast but this track is his best.

No11 HIGH DIVE From the powerful Chris Waller stable and has solid NSW provincial form. Placed only start on a wet track.

R9 - 6.10pm. XXXX SUMMER Benchmark 65 Handicap - 1700m.

No9 CELLYSE Promising and a strong Sunshine Coast win last start gives him a great chance this trip. Never won in the wet but placed several times.

No3 READY FOR DANGER Winner two of past three starts in the northern rivers. Won his only start on a wet track.

No1 HARADIFY Usually races well this track and well placed here after 3kgs claim. This easier than last start Sunshine Coast failure.

No8 TAMPERE Will be big odds here but fitter for two runs from a spell and does have strong wet track form. This distance suits better now.
