Canterbury (Friday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Canterbury. Today’s best bet is in race 3

Thu, 26 Oct, 1:31 AM

Canterbury brings us the first Friday night meeting of the season to match up with the Manikato meeting at the Valley. Tim Clark looks to be in for a big night and should be winning the jockey challenge. Track is soft now but should be good come race time. Rail is +6m.

QUADDIES (races 5-6-7-8)

Skinny Play:  1,3  -  8  -  5,6,9  - 1,8

Wide Play:  1,3,7  -  2,8  -  5,6,8,9  -  1,7,8,9

Next Best Bet: R2 – 1. SAVATIANO

Best Roughie: R4 – 4. TANGMERE

R1 – 6.15pm Fastlane Karting Plate - 1100m.

R2 – 6.45pm Bondi Pizza Handicap - 1200m.

No1 SAVATIANO (NEXT BEST BET) was a big winner first-up when not looking ready in the yard and came up against the wrong part of the track. She should take a lot of improvement from that fresh run and doesn’t find the strongest race here. She should go on with it.

No3 MADONNICA looks the likely leader here and did a good job when winning fresh.

SCRATCHED No5 WARRANTY won well at the second start and really improved there.

SCRATCHED  No6 BALLET BABY comes out of that same race as the toppie here and should run well.

R3 – 7.15pm Pegasus Supply Solutions Handicap - 1100m.

No1 DINNIGAN (BEST BET) has been trialing in awesome fashion coming into the first-up run here. She was so well thought of before the debut run that she started $2.50 on debut in the Wyong Magic Millions. I don’t see them beating her off the trials.

No4 EMPRESS MATILDA was quite good on debut in a solid race and should improve.

No5 TIKI BAR comes out of an ok enough race behind Lippizan on debut and has trialled well.

No8 BALLET BABY was good enough on debut and is also in R2 and will run well in either race.

R4 – 7.45pm. Jamberoo Action Park Plate - 1550m.

No2 GRESHAM has been slowly sending punters insane this time in. All of these placings are wearing thin. But this is a weak race.

No1 DESTINY’S OWN comes out of a solid enough race last start and ran home in good time and should run well.

No4 TANGMERE (BEST ROUGHIE) by Frankel should appreciate further and the trial between was good.

No6 ALL TOO SOON getting to 1550m with the blinkers on for the first time should run well.

R5 – 8.15pm Fogo Brazilia Handicap - 1550m.

No1 HALLELUJAH BOY improved well at the second Australian start and found the line well. 1550m suits him.

No3 MEDAILLE was ok enough first-up in a race which has proven to be strong. The trial between runs was good.

No7 INTUERI was a good winner last start and this is a step up, but the win was good.

No5 MAKEADANE looks next best here.

R6 – 8.45pm. Harry’s Tempe Handicap - 1100m.

No7 REVENIRE comes out of some really good races at the first prep. He looks to be a quality colt and should be winning for Clark.

No2 TO EXCESS won in good fashion last start and is the exacta horse here.

No1 REALISE POTENTIAL is the big closer here. He will sit off them and fly late here.

No4 ELEMENOHPEE gets the soft run from the barrier (1) here and should run well fresh.

R7 – 9.15pm. Schweppes Evening Star - 1250m.

No9 HAY NOW is now with the Dunn yard after being with M Dale previously. No shock for this to be a target race and she looks the one.

No5 EPIC DAN didn’t have the best of luck last start at Cessnock and should run well again here.

No6 KNIT ‘N’ PURL gets a soft run from barrier 1 here for Parr. The run last start wasn’t too bad and Zonk form is good form.

No8 HAMMOON BOY beat Epic Dan last start in the race at Cessnock and I cannot knock the win at all.

R8 – 9.45pm. Wrapt Freight Handicap - 1900m.

No1 LEAD CHOREOGRAPHER has been good in all three runs this time in and now the step to 1900m is perfect. I expect Shinn to roll across and dominate.

No8 LA CHATTE has found her groove winning the last two and when these mares get into form you need to respect them.

No9 RAISE AN ARMY broke through for a well-deserved win last start, now that he has won a race. He could go on with it.

No7 BAYSA should have a much better grounding now third-up from a spell at the 1900m after a solid enough run last start.
