Randwick (Saturday) Betting Preview & Tips

Randwick (Saturday) Betting Preview & Tips

Fri, 27 Oct, 12:48 AM

Randwick for yet another Saturday meeting here. The track has played well enough other than on Everest Day for the last month. With the rail back to the true position I expect them to play fairly and roll off the fence in the straight. The track should get back to good by raceday.

Don’t miss your chance to win $10,000 with the Cox Plate round of Oddschecker Pick 6 this Saturday. It’s free to register and play. Sign up today

QUADDIES (races 6-7-8-9)

Skinny Play:  1,5  -  4,7,8,10  -  5,13,14  -  8

Wide Play:  1,5,8,10  -  2,3,4,5,6,7,8,10  -  8

Best Roughie: R2 – 1. JUST DREAMING

R1 – 12.55pm. Cellarbrations Handicap - 1400

No2 GROUNDBREAK has won his last two in quite good order at the provincials and really looks to have turned a corner with those wins and is set to live up to his promise. Jennings can dominate this race if he likes from the gate as there isn’t too much speed here.

No3 SPARKY LAD comes out of a good race last start, but disappointed me a touch there as he was well backed and spruiked. The positive is that the form has held up well out of his last start run behind Goodfella and I want to give him one more chance.

No5 MEMENTO wasn’t in the best part of the track last start and gets a very good jockey change here. Gate 1 is a touch of an issue for mine. But D Browne can offset that and he may sit in the one here.

No6 BULL MARKET did an ok enough job fresh in a race which wasn’t run to suit him there. Now that he is second-up at home and at a distance that suits him, we should see some improvement from him.

R2 – 1.35pm. Ford Civil Contracting Handicap - 1500m

No1 JUST DREAMING (BEST ROUGHIE) didn’t get the best of rides first-up from a spell and was never really in the race because of that. Second-up she is unbeaten and gets to a winnable distance here. I am forgiving of King for that ride and she can redeem here.

No9 I AM SERIOUS is a tricky mare and Glyn will need to use all of his tactical nous to get the best out of her. She was ridden like the best horse in the race last start and got the job done just. This is a step up but I expect her to go back and blouse them.

No6 AANVOERDER backs up quickly after a solid effort last week where she was left a sitting shot in front at Kembla. The 1500m should be no issue. I think she is a better horse when ridden off the speed and you only need to look at her win two back to see that.

No3 PUMPKIN PIE didn’t get the best of rides last start by Bowman, but I don’t think was going well enough there to actually win the race. If you forget that, her form is quite good and she deserves her chance here.

R3 – 2.10pm. E-Group Security Sprint - 1000m

No1 TACTICAL ADVANTAGE (NEXT BEST BET) should be winning this if he brings his best form. His form last prep was nothing short of outstanding and he could be a horse who heads to a race during Cup week if he gets the job done here. Now with Pride, I have no issue with that.

No5 PICK ME UP should have won last start, he was held up at a key point and it cost him the race. He should run well second-up.

No3 I THOUGHT SO probably goes back to last and rushes at them late. I think, he is having a think and will need to nab them late.

No4 NICTOCK has been doing a great job this time winning all but one race. The form around is good, but this is a step up.

R4 – 2.45pm. TAB Highway Handicap - 1800m

No8 READY FOR DANGER trotted in last start at the home track by a lazy 6.42 lengths. The step up to 1800m here isn’t going to be an issue at all. M Dunn in a Highway, not much more needs to be said does it?

No10 DIA DE REYES has a habit of missing the kick and could well get forced back to last here if she does that again from gate 1. Collett however is a master of getting the best out of these back markers who are coming up the fence. Dunn again!

No3 DALMATIA PRINCE comes out of a strong midweek race last start which should hold up well going forward. The step to 1800m here isn’t going to be an issue at all and he should run well yet again.

No2 APPOINT PERCY would ideally like it to get wetter than it is going to be, but closed off well last start when in the wrong part of the track and over the wrong distance. Stepping up to 1800m here suits him much more and he should run well again.

R5 – 3.20pm. McMahons Racecourse Construction Handicap - 1400m

No2 STONEBROOK would be the third best bet on the card here if I had one. He has been nothing short of dominant in all of his runs and he is a horse who still has a lot of upside and I love how Gai is taking him through the grades and not throwing him into the deep end right away. He dominates the race from the front.

No4 PELORUS JACK resumes here and has trialled in good enough order coming into this. He will probably take improvement from the run. But he is a talent.

No8 PASSAGE OF TIME comes out of a very good race last time at Canterbury and that form should hold up well.

No3 WAYANKA brings very good form to this and has trialled quite well between runs and did beat Interlocuter two starts back.

R6 – 3.55pm. TJs Services Handicap - 1200m

No1 ZUMBELINA was well supported last start before being run off her legs by Sir Plush – hasn’t that form held up well. She has been back to the trials since and has done a good job. Back to the 1200m suits her here, as she can drop back in behind them from gate 9.

No5 VIGILANCE resumes here and hasn’t been beaten in his short career thus far and looks to be quite a progressive horse, the two trials coming into this were quite good and he looks well set up for a first-up run.

No8 REDOUBLE was off the map first up $15 into $5 was the flucs throughout the day. He looked to be a run short in the yard and ran to those looks. Second-up and 1200m are perfect for him and he should run well again.

No10 CHALK was the winner of that race last start and did quite a good job in winning, he had everything suit him there. He is an improving type who keeps on getting better each time he goes to the races and no shock to see him to so again.

R7 – 4.35pm. Chambers Russell Lawyers Handicap - 2000m (Pick 6 Leg)

No7 KARAVALI closed off well last start and gets a good weight drop here. I think she can settle a touch closer here from gate 2 with D Browne on board. The form around her is good enough and she should run well here.

No10 TUMULTUOUS finds a race in which he can win here, a lot of darts can be thrown at the board here and if he knocks you out you would be sick. The 2000m and wide open expanses of Randwick shouldn’t be an issue and he gets his chance.

No8 LEAD CHOREOGRAPHER is also in on Friday night with no indication as to where he is going to run as of yet. Were he runs he is going to be a major chance. In this race from gate 1 for Glyn he gets a perfect run in the race and will be in the finish.

No4 ZAUNKONIG got an absolute perfect ride last start and still got beaten somehow by the Waller trained horse there. 2000m at his home track suits him well and with even luck he will also be in the finish.

R8 – 5.20pm. Filante Handicap - 1400m (Pick 6 Leg)

No5 KAEPERNICK comes out of the strongest leadup form coming into this, and looks to have a new lease of life after both runs back this time in. 1400m shouldn’t be a worry for him as he is a winner over 1350m in the past and gets speed on to suit him here.

No13 SIR PLUSH may not lead here given the speed and pressure that is going to be applied early on here. He has been dynamic winning his last two races and staying at the 1400m suits him here. From gate 10 Collett has a bit of work to do here, but he is in great form.

No14 SALSONIC resumes here and was a big winner of the QLD Guineas last time in. The two trials coming into this have been quite good and if you do a deep dive into his form, it is quite strong and with only 53.5kgs on the back he looks to be a horse on the up.

No3 SUPPLY AND DEMAND resumes here after a big campaign last time in where he won his last 4. He is a type of horse who should have no issues running 1400m fresh.

R9 – 5.55pm. A E Edwards Handicap - 1800m

No8 INTERLOCUTER (BEST BET) will just be winning this and looks to be the blast out if punters have had a tough day at the Valley / here. The way he pushed through the gap last start, picked himself up and bolted in was nothing short of spectacular. He meets a weak field again and the only thing that beats him here is bad luck and he should end the day on a good note.

No9 BLACK ON GOLD was a good winner first-up from a spell and has been held back in recent weeks for this. The 1800m second-up is no issue at all.

No4 MAN OF HIS WORD is a pretty nice horse form QLD and always runs well wherever he turns up and will do so again.

No5 NEW TIPPERARY was slaughtered last start simple as that, he comes back to Sydney and gets up to 1800m here which suits better.
