Gold Coast (Saturday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Gold Coast. Today’s best bet is in race 5.

Fri, 3 Nov, 1:41 AM

There is a lot of racing in south east Queensland in the next week so the fields at the Gold Coast have been hit. But it is a solid meeting with some value. The rail posiyion varies but all runners should get a chance.

QUADDIES (races 5, 6,7,8)

Skinny Play:  1/1,3,6/2,4/1,2

Wide Play: 1,3,4,7/1,3,6,11/2,4,6,7/1,2,3,4

Next Best Bet:  R1 – 2. HI HARRY

Best Roughie: R3 – 7. MANILA MISS

R1 - 12.08pm. GOOD MORNING GOLD COAST Class 3 Plate - 1800m.

No2 HI HARRY (NEXT BEST BET) Good winner first-up this track and then two handy runs when unplaced in better company. This looks an ideal race.

No1 DAVOR Stormed home to win at Beaudesert three runs back and two runs since in similar company to this have been solid.

No3 ROCKET ON BOARD Has been very consistent with placings past four starts. Doesn't win many but gets his chance in this small field.

No5 LEFKAS ISLAND Three runs from a spell have been okay and getting out to a more suitable distance. Might lead here and be hard to run down if left alone.

R2 - 12.48pm. 1029 HOT TOMATO Benchmark 65 Handicap - 1400m.

No1 RAGGLE VARR Tough gelding who won at this track and distance last start. Should be on the pace from the jump and hard to beat.

No2 DRIVING WHEELS Form has been solid and no luck last start in a tougher race than this. Each-way here.

No3 SHEZA LILY Better known over more ground but ran on strongly last start when just behind the placegetters this track and distance. Fitter now.

No5 TEO TORRIATE Good winner at Grafton last start this trip when led by himself. It would be the key to him winning here as well.

R3 - 1.33pm. MYGC QTIS 3-Y-O Fillies Maiden Handicap - 1200m.

No3 BRILEE ROSE Good third this track at only start and should be fitter for that run. This isn't a tough maiden.

No7 MANILA MISS (BEST ROUGHIE) Trialled well and then had no luck at all when fifth this track and class at only start. Ready to improve here.

No11 SOZZLED No star but does try hard and chance here on last-start fourth this track in an unsuitable shorter race.

No8 PONYTALES Resuming here and two race starts were just fair. But we did like a couple of her trials in the past six months so keep very safe.

R4 - 2.13pm. THE RUBY COLLECTION GOLD COAST Fillies and Mares Class 2 Handicap - 1200m.

No3 FELINO BEL Good winner this track two starts back and not much luck last time when fourth here on a wet track.

No4 DANGER ANNIE Won a race at $101 and then showed it was no fluke by winning next start at $17. Won't be big odds this time.

No1 PEGAPUS Wants more ground and looks a stayer of the future. But has had a trial and might be ready to fire in this average field.

No2 CUSHION PINK Disappointing last campaign but resuming here and has been placed a few times first-up. Showed ability earlier in her career.

R5 - 2.58pm. PAY YOUR BILLS Class 4 Handicap - 1300m.

No1 DESMON'S PRIDE (BEST BET) Promising horse who won this track three runs back and two runs since have been good considering things went against him. This looks to suit perfectly.

No4 SUGGAN BUGGAN Another promising horse who has won two and been placed twice from four starts. Only question is whether he wants a bigger track than this.

No3 SNAPPER ROCKS Showed form as a stayer last campaign but resuming and has trialled and can turn in the occasional good run at shorter trips.

No7 WE BUILT THIS CITY Honest enough galloper who is coming back from a handy run in a Saturday race at Doomben. He is the knock out horse.

R6 - 3.43pm. GALEY, MAL AND MOYRA Fillies and Mares Maiden Handicap - 1400m.

No1 ROTINDY Consistent placegetter in maidens at country and provincial tracks. Paying the price with weight but at least has some handy form.

No3 FUN FOR ME Northern rivers form has been solid and this isn't much tougher than last start Grafton second.

No11 DITZY DARCI We keep saying it but her form doesn't back us up. He is a lot better than recent runs show, let’s hope he proves it this time.

No6 ISAVERDICT Two runs of late at Beaudesert have been handy and indicates this distance will be ideal. Has a good value hope.

R7 - 4.28pm. FLAN AND EMILY JADE WITH CHRISTO Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Hcp - 1400m.

No2 SOLARCRAFT Didn't look at home on the heavy track but plugged on for fourth this track last start. The 1400m and a drier track means he will nearly win this.

No4 ENGRAVED He has had a few chance but his first-up fourth means he has to be a top chance in this.

No7 MOHAKA RIVER Two runs back from a spell have been solid and fitter for this. Should get the run of the race from the barrier.

No6 KNIGHT’S HONOUR Good thirds at his past two starts in similar races to this and another who looks suited at the 1400m from a handy barrier.

R8 - 5.05pm. FREE ENTRY DECEMBER 30TH Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 2 Handicap - 1200m.

No2 MEHMETO Two runs from a spell have been solid and winner this track at only start here. Has had a freshen up since last run and ready to fire now.

No1 HEARTS HONOUR Has good form around better horses than these. Resuming here but has won first-up.

No3 ATTILA Under rated horse who has won races at Murwillumbah and has also won a trial since his latest effort. Should lead these.

No4 MONACO PLAYBOY Has had a stable switch since last start in November last year. Trialled recently in fair fashion. On his day would test this field.
