Newcastle (Saturday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Newcastle. Today’s best bet is in race 2

Fri, 10 Nov, 12:43 AM

Newcastle for the Saturday provincial meeting in New South Wales, this is a pretty bad meeting in fairness with only 51 acceptors, doesn’t give punters much of a chance over seven races. Still seven winners to be found.

QUADDIES (races 4-5-6-7)

Skinny Play:  2,5,7  -  3  -  1,2  -  1

Wide Play: 2,5,7  -  3  -  1,2,3  -  1,2,3,5

Next Best Bet: R5 – 3. KETTERING

Best Roughie: R3 – 3. D’LAST ZA

R1 – 1.34pm With Love F&M Class 1 Handicap - 1400m.

No3 ANTELOPE won well on debut at Wyong and really ran over them well late, the claim for JVO suits here and 1400m shouldn’t be an issue.

No1 LOVELETTER drops well in grade and should be well suited coming back in grade, the claim helps.

No5 THE KISS won in good style at Scone last start, this is a step up, but at home respect it.

No4 NAIS KO won well when resuming for the new stable, she got the easy kill there and should step up here.

R2 – 2.14pm. Newcastle Stevedores C,G&E Class 1 Handicap - 1400m.

No2 CUBA (BEST BET) looks very well set up here after a brilliant last-start win when given a perfect ride by Shinn, I hope the instructions are the same here to get out and dominate the race. The form around him is very good and he should be winning here.

No1 MOUNT PANORAMA should improve into this race second-up, he is an enigma but should run well again.

No5 MAGICALEASE got the job done at the short quote last start and did a good job, this is tougher.

No4 SPRING CREEK STAR looks next best in a race that drops away.

R3 – 2.54pm. Dakmate Benchmark 65 Handicap - 900m.

No3 D’LAST ZA (BEST ROUGHIE) is a speed ball who loves these shorter trips. And although he has only won one race, he has placed in seven others. He runs well here.

No6 KAMEHAMEHA will sit just off the speed here and have the last shot at the, the 900m is fine for him.

No1 TABLE TWO has been going well enough as of late and has won all three races at the 900m

No4 PORTLAND PLACE resumes here and should run well fresh.

R4 – 3.34pm. James Murray Funeral Directors Class 1 & Maiden Plate - 1850m.

No2 LAMMA HILTON comes out of a good enough race last start and finds a weak and winnable race now.

No5 JUSTAWAY comes into this race second-up after a good run last start at Tuncurry, his record is average though.

No7 SEABABE drops well in grade here, but a horse of G Ryans came out of the same race and started short here last week and ran last, the travel could be the issue?

*SCRATCHED* No6 NOBLE TRUTH has been whacking away as of late and should run well.

R5 – 4.14pm. Quarry Mining & Construction Maiden Plate - 900m.

No3 KETTERING (NEXT BEST BET) comes out of much better races than this and looks very well placed to break the maiden here. He had the track bias against him last start and couldn’t make up the ground late. Back to the 900m and his home track he should be winning this.

No8 IBANEZ hates the punters, getting beaten at short odds throughout. She will run well again, but won’t have my cash.

No2 DESTINY’S CHOICE was good enough last start and should run well again here.

No1 ALL YOU is next best in what is a poor race.

R6 – 5.00pm. Pacific National F&M Maiden Handicap - 1400m.

*SCRATCHED* No1 JAUNTY should improve dramatically and up in distance second-up from a spell. She just missed fresh over the 1200m and the 1400m now is perfect.

No2 FAITH IN HAND has been running in much better races than this as of late, but she hasn’t showed me a killer instinct, and I need to see that.

No3 SEPOISED should have won on debut, she was beaten a lip there but the jock weighed in heavy. This is tougher.

No8 VIASHALI gets in with just 53kgs here and has been trialing up in very good order leading into the debut.

R7 – 5.49pm. Rankin Ellison Lawyers C,G&E Maiden Handicap - 1400m.

No1 NEW HORIZONS is a brilliantly bred colt and has changed stables since his last prep, the 1400m fresh is going to suit this Frankel colt.

No5 ENLIGHTENED BOY comes out of some good enough races in the first prep and the trials leading in have been quite good.

No2 NETHERLANDS closed off quite well on debut and the step up to the 1400m here should not be an issue.

No3 FUCHU was good on debut in a weaker race than this, but at the home track he should run quite well.
