Ipswich (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Ipswich. Today’s best bet is in race 4.

Mon, 13 Nov, 10:18 AM

Ipswich is back to hosting a Wednesday meeting after having a very poor day on Oaks day last Thursday. One thing the track will have taken no harm from the Oaks meeting with so few runners. It should be a usual Ipswich with front runners suited early.

QUADDIES (races 5,6,7,8,)

Skinny Play:  1,2/1,4/2,3/1,7

Wide Play: 1,2,7,11/1,2,4,6/2,3,5,8/1,6,7,11

Next Best Bet:  R2 – 3. WE BUILT THIS CITY

Best Roughie: R8 – 7. VOLTAIRE LUMIERE

R1 - 12.43pm. Xmas Functions @ ITC Maiden Plate - 2180m

No2 I'M ANTMAN Has had a few problems of late and a terrible run last start when well back in a maiden this track over 1666m. But previous form good for a race like this and deserves another chance.

No3 INVERARAY Has placed at past four starts in better company than this. Is getting a reputation as a non-winner but always worth each-way thought.

No5 KASTANOS Gradually starting to work into form at longer trips. Has to be some hope here.

No8 ASTANA First four starts were just average but latest run was a better effort and looks to be a hope here at good odds.

R2 - 1.18pm. Grandview Stud Class 4 Handicap - 1690m

No3 WE BUILT THIS CITY (NEXT BEST BET) He has been crying out for 1600m or further and gets a race here where there should be enough early pace for him. Can finish very fast as he did with last start second at the Gold Coast behind an in form horse.

No1 CASCATA ROSSA Gold Coast winner three starts back and then second at Randwick before last-start failure that track. Looks the obvious danger.

No2 RAGGLE VARR Can mix his form but chance here if left alone in front. Chance on good win two starts back at the Gold Coast.

No5 WIN ALONG Been a while since he won and recent form just fair. But this isn't very deep and has a knock out hope on best Hong Kong form.

R3 - 1.53pm. XXXX Gold Maiden Handicap - 1350m.

No3 FOXY AFFAIR Disappointing at second race start when fifth at the Gold Coast but did strike some trouble and trialled well before good first-up third at the Sunshine Coast. Top chance here.

No1 DARING DEEDS Has had many chances at varying distances but two runs from a spell at shorter races have been good including last-start fourth at Doomben when probably should have won.

No4 ON SHOW Trialled nicely before first-up fourth at the Gold Coast and fitter for this which isn't a strong maiden.

No6 ART SHE QUICK Has had a few chances to win a maiden but good third at the Gold Coast last start in a harder race than this.

R4 - 2.28pm. GET SOCIAL@IPSWICHTURFCLUB Class 3 Handicap - 1200m.

No3 DOWNLOADING (BEST BET) Very well bred horse who was a strong winner at first run back from a spell at the Sunshine Coast. Should be too strong for what is a relatively weak midweek race.

No1 HONOUR 'N' STRENGTH Is better than last-start fifth this track when appeared to have every chance. Is a winner this track and at his best would be hard to beat here.

No2 PLAN RED Was a consistent placegetter at his previous campaign and then a good trial recently which adds up to him being a danger here.

No6 DREAM OF ASCOT Had no luck when fourth this track last start and probably should have nearly won. Each-way chance.

R5 - 3.03pm. BURRELL INDUSTRIAL ESTATE GUNNEDAH Benchmark 65 Handicap - 1010m.

No1 SIR DONALD He is much better than last two failures on a bog track at Toowoomba and then in open company at Doomben. Likes this track and despite big weight even after the 3kgs claim looks hard to beat.

No2 HIGH COST Honest gelding who won at Doomben four runs back and no luck in three runs since including unlucky fourth at Kilcoy last time.

No11 ANOTHER SLIPPER He is first emergency here but should get a run and a top chance on first-up third at this track last start.

No7 SKANDA Good winner last start at Gatton when he got the right conditions for him. Likes it a bit soft and should get that here.

R6 - 3.38pm. GUNNEDAH BURRELL ESTATE QTIS Three-Years-Old Class 1 Handicap - 1100m.

No2 NOBLE HUSSLER Has good form in previous campaigns and no luck first-up when second at Kilcoy. Fitter now and on best form would win this.

No6 MISHANI ELECTRA Solid winner last start after two previous seconds. Well drawn and deserves his chance in this class of race.

No1 BARGANNON At only race start showed a lot of speed to win a maiden. That was a good quality race and although up in class hard to beat here.

No4 RED HOT MISS Has been running far harder races and not that far away. Has run some handy races this track and if regained best form would be a hope here.

R7 – 4.30pm. Wellington Regional Tourism F&M BM64 Handicap – 1100m

No3 CLUB TROPICANA (BEST BET) is from an in-form stable and she can go one better here on her last start second over 1100m at Bendigo on November 1. She went down in a head-bobber that day and she gets the highly in-form Chris Symons to ride here. She does rise 2.5kg to 58.5kg but she drops in class and goes well second-up.

No2 RED BELLE was unwanted in the betting but won well. This is only her third start.

No1 SCAPPARE ran a solid third at Mornington first-up. Has a superior second-up record.

No5 FOR A SONG is on a six-day back up but will roll forward and is a chance.

R8 - 4.50pm. GUNNEDAH BURRELL DEVELOPMENTS Benchmark 75 Handicap - 1350m.

No6 PLUCKY GIRL Placed at six of eight recent starts and also won one. Generally races against stronger company and gets her chance for another win here.

No7 VOLTAIRE LUMIERE (BEST ROUGHIE) Another who is rarely far from the place money but doesn't win too many. Gets his chance here as back at right distance after recent Grafton midfield effort.

No8 NIGHT ATTIRE Won twice and been second twice this campaign before good last-start fifth in a harder race at Doomben. Yet another each-way chance in this tricky race.

No1 SHADOW LORD Scratched from a race on Saturday for this. Has some good form in previous campaigns but just struggling of late. Has a 3kgs claim which should help.
