Gold Coast (Saturday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Gold Coast. Today’s best bet is in race 6.
Another Gold Coast Saturday meeting with mixed fields with some depth in a couple of them. The track played truly last Saturday and even with some rain about this week should play much the same again.

R1 - 1.43pm. BCCS Law Legal Solutions Maiden Plate - 900m.
No9 MARIKINA First starter who has had two trials winning one in July and handy the other three weeks ago. This is very weak and has shown some ability.
No8 CHARMS First starter who has not had an official trial. But trained 100km away in Toowoomba and stable never make the trip without a genuine hope.
No2 DOOM In the market at only start at Ipswich and didn't do much. But will be better for the run.
No1 DASHING POWER Failed to fire in four starts in Hong Kong and had two fair trials in Sydney before coming here. This is so weak has to be a chance.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 DOOM
R2 - 2.18pm. Austral Insulation Fillies and Mares Class 3 Handicap - 1400m.
No3 WHODUNNIT (NEXT BEST BET) Was a model of consistency running three seconds before runaway win at the Sunshine Coast last start. In form and this distance suits. Handles all track conditions.
No2 ONE MANSINI Never has any luck in her races and should have nearly won last start when fourth at Doomben. Hard to beat here.
No6 RAINBOW LACE Minor placed past two starts at Ipswich and the Gold Coast and this isn't much harder. Each-way again.
No1 BEAUDACIOUS Has been fair in harder races of late and back in this class at this distance rates a mention among hopes.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 RAINBOW LACE
R3 - 2.53pm. Kathy's Raceday C and G Three-Year-Old Maiden - 1400m.
No4 ALL IMPORTANT Well-bred and specked at big odds when handy fourth at Ipswich last start over 1100m. Better off this trip and no luck other starts.
No2 THE GROOM Has run third at his past four starts in similar races to this. Getting up in the weights but still a strong chance here.
No9 MERLIN THE WIZARD (BEST ROUGHIE) Best run to date when third last start at the Sunshine Coast after having little luck in the run. Should be able to race on the pace and this distance suits.
No6 SMARTY JACK We liked his recent trial when third at Doomben and form has been fair. Ready to improve.
VALUE RUNNER: No9 MERLIN THE WIZARD
R4 - 3.33pm. BUSSQ Building Super Class 1 Handicap - 1100m.
No1 TOO EASY BRO Has raced well in much better races than this. Getting up in the weights but trialled well before good first-up third.
No3 I REMEMBER YOU Good third first-up and this easier than last start well beaten defeat at Doomben. Has a 2kgs claim here which helps.
No2 DIAMONDS ARE Former Victorian galloper who has had two trials this area and won them both. Looks hard to beat on those trial efforts.
No5 DUTCH GAL This is harder than last start win at Gatton but has shown ability and drawn the inside barrier here.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 DUTCH GAL
R5 - 4.08pm. Winning Commercial Maiden Handicap - 1400m.
R6 - 4.48pm Accalim Air Conditioning Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 3 Handicap - 1400m.
No1 VAULTING AMBITION (BEST BET) Let us down when our best bet last time and he finished third at Doomben. But he had no luck in the straight last time and has a 3kgs claim here as well as being out to the right distance for him. Has placings around some Group One horses earlier in his career.
No5 WINDCATCHER Strong winner this track last start this track and the stable is in outstanding form. Rates respect again.
No2 BALBOA PARK Has some good NSW form and better than first run this area when last at Toowoomba. Well beaten last time but didn't appear to handle the tricky track.
No4 BROCSON Gets back in his races so always needs some luck in the straight. Well beaten at Kilcoy last time but fitter now.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 BALBOA PARK
R7 - 5.28pm. Master Builders Class 2 Handicap - 1800m.
No6 RED PHANTOM Finished very strongly when winner at 1600m at the Sunshine Coast last start. The 1800m should suit very well here.
No4 ROCKET ON BOARD Never runs a bad race but doesn't win often. Ran four minor placings before average fourth this track last start. Deserves another chance this slightly easier race.
No3 LEFKAS ISLAND Is getting fitter for racing since a break. Led and battled on for third in a slightly harder race this track last start.
No2 GEOMETRIST Ordinary run last time at Doomben but has good form this track and distance and this is much easier than last time.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 LEFKAS ISLAND
R8 - 6.03pm. Gadens Lawyers RQ Summer Prov. Series Heat Benchmark 75 - 1200m.
No6 SUGGAN BUGGAN Strong win first-up and then appeared a bit flat when fourth at the Sunshine Coast last start. Has a heap of potential and may pay to put last start down to second-up blues.
No1 VICTORY EIGHT Winner at the Sunshine Coast last start and isn't far off being a city class horse. This is no harder than last time so rates highly.
No4 LEGENDARY LUKE Has had a stable change but trialled well and then good second at the Sunshine Coast last time. This suits.
No7 SEQ THE STAR Has not been far away this campaign without winning. From this draw should be ridden close to the pace and that will suit.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 LEGENDARY LUKE
