No7 VERA JOY Promising debut second to Leelavadee 1100m Maiden Good4 56.5kg November 10 when led at 250m but pipped on post. Bound to be improved by that experience and rates highly here.


No6 REDWOOD CITY Runner-up at three of last five starts and bound to be in the finish again here. No luck when ninth Gala Moshea 1100m Soft6 Ballarat June 4 then took lead 250m out and outgunned by Lebombo Rose 1200n there June 29. Solid first-up chance.


No3 MAMZELLE MURDOCH Finished second at two runs before racing wide and fading to sixth Safdie 975m Swan Hill July 24. Slow recovery after hard run and should go well fresh.


No9 SHAKIRA Resuming from 37-week spell and recent soft trials should have her primed for a strong first-up tilt.



R2 – 7.00pm. Victorian Jockeys’ Association Maiden Plate – 1400m.

No10 ALNAAS (BEST BET) Smart type ready to win. Lost ground on turn then hampered while making run at 100m when courageous two-length third Leila’s Star 1200m Mornington 3YO Fillies’ Maiden 57kg Good4 on debut November 5. Drops 2kg here and extra distance will suit.


No9 FONTEIN FLYER Placed Yarra Valley and Sandown two of three before caught wide when sixth Langhro 1200m Pakenham Soft7 November 16. Chance to atone.


No6 CAREERING AWAY Just behind placings two runs before second at Moe. Well drawn for this.


No3 FEARLESS ANGUS Ran fourth and third Pakenham only two starts and rates a place chance again.



R3 – 7.30pm. Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria 3yo Fillies Maiden Plate – 1400m.

No3 FOLK SONG (NEXT BEST BET) Favourite on debut and held up at vital stage when neck second Manhattan Spirit 1200m F&M Maiden Ballarat 56.5kg November. 6. Better for that run and extra 200m with winkers on here should make her hard to beat.


No7 VIVENDI Has two placings and two fourths last four runs and bound to figure again.


No5 MISSCINO Placed last two runs Cranbourne 1400m and Ballarat 1600m and rates highly again.


No2 FLYING FLYWHEEL Stablemate of the favourite on debut. Ran third Snitzelwood Benalla 1200m trial to fit for this.




R4 – 8.00pm. Victorian On-Course Bookmakers BM64 Handicap – 1600m.

No6 TREICHELN Veteran mare racing at peak with second Palazzo Vecchio November 10 and third Riverina Explorer November 18 this track and distance last two starts. Backing-up again and should have conditions to suit from inside draw.


No3 MATAKANUI Model of consistency. Resumed with solid two-length second Meazza 1450m Kilmore Soft5 October 24 then broke maiden beating Charlie’s World 1600m Moe November 10. Hard to toss.


No4 PONY MONTANA Sound first-up sixth Rocksetta 1406m Benalla BM58 59.5kg October 31. Kyneton Maiden winner over 1875m two runs earlier. Suited by extra distance here.


No5 ROAR Form only fair in three runs before winning 1600m Ballarat Maiden November 6. Place chance.



R5 – 8.30pm. TROA Supporting Owners BM64 Handicap – 1400m.

No1 NETHERFIELD (BEST ROUGHIE) Classy type who hasn’t started since sixth Volatile Mix 2500m Group 1 SA Derby May 13. Runner-up twice 1600m Sandown two of three previous runs and is a winner first-up over this distance. The one to beat.


No3 AMORTENTIA Unplaced once in eight starts and winner this track and distance three runs back in Maiden grade September 20. Won Tatura 1450m BM64 then close fourth Zagaya 1400m Sale Oct. 29. Respect.


No4 CASA FORTUNE Created good impression winning on debut 1462m Kilmore maiden November 5. Up in class but will be improved.


No5 LOKITIN Placed last two 1300m Corowa November 6 and 1400m Pakenham Soft 7 November 16 and goes into the multiples again.



R6 – 9.00pm. TAB Victorian Racing Industry Cup – 2060m.

No4 SERENADE THE STARS Imported stayer improved by two runs in Australia and gets conditions to suit here. Showed plenty of grit to overhaul Knowable 1600m Bendigo BM70 Good4 58kg November 1 then over-raced early but plugged on for 2.35-lenth fifth Brilliant Jet Moonee Valley 2040m November 17. Chance to atone here.


No7 POTEMKIN Has two wins and two placings last five starts and will go close again. Fought back doggedly for photo third Rock Away, Star Patriot 1600m Moonee valley BM64 October 6 then beat Beach Life 1700m Geelong 56.5kg Soft5 October 25.


No10 STORMY SHORE Solid fifth Falika 2040m Moonee Valley Fillies & Mares Oct. 27 then caught on line by Tranquil Miss 1717m Sale November 15. Lugging bit goes on here.


No12 HISTORY REPEATS Will find this easier than 5-length fourth Linguist 1700m Flemington November 9. Led when third Falika 2080m here October 13. Hawkesbury winner two runs earlier and has to be considered.



R7 – 9.30pm. Australian Jumping Racing Association Class 1 Handicap – 1200m.

No5 RED HEARTS The Snowden stable didn’t come here for a picnic and this mare will be cherry ripe for this. Placed last two runs since resuming at Wyong 1200m October 12 and Gosford 1200m November 2. Right at her peak now.


No1 KNIGHT COMMANDER Did plenty wrong but still blitzed his rivals on debut 1100m Kyneton Maiden 58.5kg November 8. Bound to be further improved and should measure up to tougher company here.


No2 DON’T BLUSH BABY Most impressive at only two runs and drawn to get a gun run here. Just nabbed by Elephant Rock 1000m Pakenham Soft6 October 14 then beat Will I Be 1100m Traralgon Maiden 58.5kg November 4.


No6 WATCH ME BLUSH Two seconds and three fourths last five starts suggest she won’t be far away again.



R8 – 10.00pm. Australian Trainers’ Association F&M BM64 Handicap – 1300m.

No4 NICODAME Has produced three thirds in five outings since beating Antonia 1200m F&M Maiden Soft5 here May 19. Had no luck first-up when photo third King Kohei, Ruth’s Boy 1200m Class 1 here November 10. Fitter now and will take tossing.


No3 JODI NICOLE Caught wide at first run for 10months when 10th Ballarat BM64 F&M 59kg October 26. Strong second Winston Wolfe 1200m Moonee Valley and winner 1400m this track previously. Commands respect.


No8 LORETO Impressed on debut when she finished over the top of Beeokay 1100m Horsham 3YO Maiden 56kg November 3. Better for the experience and rates a chance again.


No9 MERRY MAGIC Just behind the placings in a series of runs before close third Elephant Rose, Charlie Cheval 1200m Pakenham Soft5 November 9 and win over Zamperini 1200m F&M BM58 this track November. 18. Chance on the quick back-up.
