Rosehill yet again this weekend for the Country Classic meeting, it’s good to see the battlers getting a chance in the big smoke for the big money. Good luck to them, outside of that we get to see some very nice races in what shapes as a good days racing. Rail true, track good.

QUADDIES (races 6-7-8-9)

Skinny Play:  1,2,7  -  12,13  -  6  -  4

Wide Play:  1,2,7,8  -  1,12,13,17  -  6,9  -  2,4,6

BEST BET: R8 – 6. TEST THE WORLD

Next Best Bet: R9 – 4. DREAMFORCE

Best Roughie: R2 - 2. UP TRUMPZ

R1 – 12.35pm. Golden Gift - 1100m.

No4 PLAGUE STONE was an impressive trial winner leading into the debut run here, the last 200m was very strong indicating that the 1100m on debut shouldn’t be an issue at all. He gets a good run behind the speed here, and winning this race would qualify him for the slipper.

No1 COSIMO has trialled well coming into the debut run, what is against him is that both of the trials have been at home and over the short course of 740m and he hasn’t been asked to go through that pain barrier. But it is the Snowdens and you cannot doubt them.

No7 SECRET LADY has had the benefit of race experience which is huge in these early 2yo races. The 1100m should allow her to get an easier time of it on speed, and no shock to see her give a massive kick as they turn for home.

No5 PLENTY was the better of the two Waller trailers coming into the debut run, I expect him to go back from the gate and come at them with one run, as Waller won’t want to burn out an early 2yo at start one that could well be Magic Millions bound.

VALUE RUNNER: No1 COSIMO

R2 – 1.15pm. The HQ Of Insurance Handicap - 1400m.

No4 POETIC CHARMER comes out of some very good form races and went back to the provincials for a kill in maiden level last start. We have seen how good that Unforgotten form is, he is a horse who looks to have a lot of upside and has his chance.

No5 MAID MARILYN backs up quickly after winning her maiden last Friday at Canterbury, she looked to be in the worst going in the straight there and still won well, I think the form out of that race will hold up well. Hard to be against Gai at the moment.

No2 UP TRUMPZ (BEST ROUGHIE) was sensationally well backed last week in the Snake Gully Cup, and didn’t have the best of luck there. He was also 900-1400m on a heavy track second-up, not at all suitable. The claim down to 57kgs and back to 3yo level suit here.

No1 STAR SENSATION has won her past two starts in very good fashion at midweek level. She now jumps up to Saturday level and up in weight here, but is going very well, the booking of Shinn adds to that confidence and she looks to get a good run on the map.

VALUE RUNNER: No2 UP TRUMPZ

R3 – 1.50pm. Luna Park Handicap - 1800m.

No8 MORNINGTON was an alarming drifter at the Australian debut and really found the line quite well despite what the market told us. I love these horses at their second Australian starts as they always seem to gain another length or two. Glyn on from the soft gate, he looks hard to beat.

No6 GAMBLER’S BLUES gets a good jockey change here with the app off and Hyeronimus on board. He just missed in a driving finish last start and jumps up to the 1800m here which looks to be more suitable than the 1400 he ran over last start.

No4 DAGNY comes out of a good race last start behind Just Dreaming, she looks to have found her form now and the step up in trip with the blinkers off will suit her. Expect Avdulla to have the spurs on here to get everything out of her late.

No1 HOGMANAY comes out of a good race on Oaks day behind a nice horse for Australian Bloodstock. That form should hold up quite well and now that he is coming back to Sydney with a good weight, he gets his chance here.

VALUE RUNNER: No6 GAMBLER’S BLUES

R4 – 2.25pm. Bedford CA Handicap - 1200m.

No7 ZONK was just touched off last start in a driving finish over the course and distance. The form out of that race is going to hold up quite well, she looks to get a lovely run of it here and she is going to be in the finish for sure.

No4 ANATOLA looked to have a lot of improvement to come from the yard first-up for the new yard, had she drawn a gate I would have had her on top. But she gets a sticky run on the map here. If she can overcome that and take that improvement she is going to be in the finish here.

No9 BLOWING KISSES will have the last shot at them here, and comes out of a race which wasn’t run to suit her last start. She can sit a touch closer from barrier 6, and like I said last start this mare suits Collett quite well.

No5 CONCHITA will jump and run along here, she comes out of some good races over the Flemington carnival. She is at her best when leading and the booking of Avdulla tells me that she will make use of that early brilliance that she has.

VALUE RUNNER: No5 CONCHITA

R5 – 3pm. TAB Highway Handicap - 1500m.

No1 REALING charged through the line first-up and just ran out of time there. Second up to the 1500m is much more suitable here, as he will be able to find his feet early and be able to launch at them. Angland on board is the go to for M Dunn in these highways and he looks the one.

No2 SCHEDULE is at his best at the 1400-1500m mark and has been going quite well as of late, he was up on a hot speed last start and was run over late there. The 1500m is much more suitable here and he gets in well at the weights after the claim.

No7 SHADOW VISION comes out of a good race last start at Goulburn where the form has held up well. He ran right through the line there and gets a good jockey change here and the 1500m is going to be no issue at all.

No8 ATHONIS with King on board and the claim down to 53kg will roll along in front here from barrier 11. He does come out of some form that isn’t the best. But he looks to be going quite well and could take that next step here with a good jockey change.

VALUE RUNNER: No7 SHADOW VISION

R6 – 3.40pm. Thoroughbred Breeders NSW Handicap - 1400m.

No6 JUST DREAMING could take the next step after the good win last start where she overcame a lot of trouble to get over the top of them late. Her Rosehill record is nothing short of fantastic and again from gate 7 she gets a lovely run here.

No5 MORTON’S FORK resumes here and has been gelded since the last preparation where nothing seemed to go right in some very good races. He is down for sale on Friday at the Inglis sales, so he may well be running for new connections here? The trials have been good.

No2 ZUMBELINA won in really good fashion last start and was quite well backed to do so, no issue with the jockey change here with Shinn going on, can only improve her. From gate 10 she sits just off the speed here and has the last shot at them.

No4 HANDFAST charged through the line first-up in a race which wasn’t run to suit, the step up to the 1400m here is much more suitable second-up from a spell, as he does have quite a good second-up record.

VALUE RUNNER: No4 HANDFAST

R7 – 4.20pm. Country Classic - 2000m.

No13 ZAMEX looks as if he has had his preparation aimed around this race, and has had quite a good set up for this. He comes out of a good race last start where he hit the line quite well. Barrier 19 isn't too much of a negative for mine, as he will get back in the run.

No12 BRONZED VENOM comes out of a good race last start where he was just rundown late at Doomben. Before that he was a booming winner in a good highway at Randwick. I expect Collett to roll forward here, as that’s what he did last start up in trip.

No1 MORENDI charged right through the line first-up in what was a very good race. Second-up straight to 2000m is a bit of a worry, but I expect that he has had the work pored into him. The form that he brings is very good and if at his best look out.

No17 MISS DUBOIS has been given no favors from the gate here and will need to get given a K Mac gem here to get into the finish. She comes out of some very good form races and now drops back to country horses level and should run well with luck.

VALUE RUNNER: No1 MORENDI

R8 –5.00pm. Goldners Horse Transport Handicap - 1100m.

No6 TEST THE WORLD (BEST BET) putting the bit between the mouth here and say that this mare is the best horse in the race and has a perfect fresh record. She has trialled in brilliant fashion coming into this and you just need to look at the picket fence she put together last time in to show that she is a mare on the way up who could go to that next level this time in.

No9 BON AMIS was as big a betting go as I have ever seen in Sydney, $1.80 - $1.30 is a serious amount of money and he won well, but who did he beat? This is a step up.

No11 MAGICAZ comes out of that same race as Bon Amis last start and found the line well, she should run well yet again here.

No3 SECRET TRAIL resumes here and has been trialing quite well coming into this.

VALUE RUNNER: No11 MAGICAZ

R9 – 5.40pm. ANZ Bloodstock News Handicap - 1500m.

No4 DREAMFORCE (NEXT BEST BET) comes out of a hot form race first-up where he was really well backed to beat Redouble who has since won again. He just blew out late there and should take a hell of a lot improvement from that. Avdulla going on is a big jockey change here and he could well improve and take that next step now.

No6 ISTRIA bolted up last start on Melbourne Cup day, she has taken the next step and should run well again.

No12 HIGH OPINON resumes from nearly a year off here and has won first-up in the past and looks to have trialled well coming in.

No2 OUR BELISA has been doing a brilliant job this time in, winning her past three, she now steps up to Saturday level and should run well again.

VALUE RUNNER: No12 HIGH OPINON
