The weather forecast is for a cloudy day but to remain fine so the track should remain a Good 4.

Last time here there was rain and the track was rain-affected a few weeks ago.

The false rail will be stretched right out to eight metres, which is another three metres wider than the last time they raced here. All in all a typical Sunday meeting with competitive fields and no real stand-outs on the eight-race card.

QUADDIES (races 5,6,7,8)

Skinny Play:  1,4 – 3 – 4,6 – 2,12

Wide Play: 1,4,5 -3,5 – 1,4,6,12 – 2,7,11,12

BEST BET: R6 – 3. MISS STRATHALLAN

Next Best Bet: R3 – 6. MUSSOORIE MAGIC

Best Roughie: R5 – 6. CAB FAIR

R1 – 12.58pm. Bet365 SV 3YO Maiden Plate – 1235m.

No9 LIVING DOLL looks close to breaking through for a win with her second over 1200m in maiden at Mornington two starts ago. Latest she ran a solid fifth over 1300m at Seymour on October 22. From gate two gets a nice passage.

No1 ANOTHER FLAG he was closing the gap when finishing second over 1200m maiden at Pakenham on November 12. That was only his third career start and from a similar draw to last time in nine should again be a force.

No11 SHOKORA showed promise at debut with a good third over 11000m 2yo maiden at Wangaratta in June. That was her sole race start, but she did trial well in the lead up to this race finishing third over 1000m at Benella on November 13.

No4 HOMADOS has had significant changes since last in work. He has been gelded and will wear winkers for the first time with the blinkers coming off. New Zealander making his Australian debut and showed promise at sole start.

VALUE RUNNER: No4 HOMADOS

R2 – 1.33pm. IGA Liquor Stock up for Christmas Maiden Plate – 1235m.

No12 SHE’S NIC’N OFF gave plenty of cheek at her debut to run a close second over 1100m F&M maiden at Seymour on November 16. She was strongly backed from $3.30 to start at $2.70 that day. Nicely drawn in gate four.

No6 TENNESSEE BOSS has yet to finish further back than fourth at four starts. Looms as a big live chance here on last start over 1500m maiden at Mornington on November 15. He was heavily backed from $2.05 into $1.75, but missed the chocolates.

No9 FONTEIN ALI showed some promise in prior campaign and is resuming from a long spell today. Has the ideal draw on the rail and has shown form in the past fresh. She drops 1.5kg on her last start to 56.5kg. Commands respect.

No1 BLACK ROE should be flooding home if he repeats his effort of last start when running second over 1106m maiden at Benella on November 12. Has had a three-week break between starts and has drawn perfectly in gate five.

VALUE RUNNER: No1 BLACK ROE

R3 – 2.08pm. IGA Liquor Christmas cheer! Maiden Plate – 1535m.

No6 MUSSOORIE MAGIC (NEXT BEST BET) looks to hold a strong hand in this maiden following an impressive debut when at $10 he ran a close second over 1400m in a maiden at Echuca on November 20. Top trainer has employed stable rider John Allen to replace a 3kg claiming apprentice for this encounter. Has a brilliant draw in gate four and will appreciate the extra distance.

No5 GEORGICA showed the strain of the run to fade first-up but will strip fitter for the outing.

No4 BLACKBURN drops a kilo to 55kg and has top jockey Linda Meech to steer from gate seven.

No1 ARROCHAR was racing second-up when finishing a good fifth over 1300m maiden at Cranbourne on November 15. Now back to a distance where he is capable and from barrier two should get a nice and cosy run throughout.

VALUE RUNNER: No1 ARROCHAR

R4 – 2.43pm. IGA Liquor Class 1 Handicap – 1435m.

No11 ROYAL DISGUISE hails from the top Melbourne yard of Mick Price and she was backed from $9 into $5.50 last start when finishing a close second over 1600m at Bairnsdale on October 8. She missed landing the plunge by centimetres.

No3 RHYOLA will sport a new gear with winkers going on for the first time. Latest he gave a fair enough effort to chase home when sixth over 1400m at Bendigo on November 14. Has been freshened up for this encounter and can rebound.

No1 SO LITTLE TIME hard to knock his form with a smashing 2.25 length win in a 1300m maiden here on November 11. He was not fancied that day easing from $17 out to $20, but hard to ignore the ease of the victory.

No14 TELL ME THE TRUTH was swamping home when finished in a tight finish between three runners, when second over 1200m at Sale on November 15. He has drawn wide this time in gate 15 compared to three but must still rate.

VALUE RUNNER: No14 TELL ME THE TRUTH

R5 – 3.20pm. IGA Liquor Christmas catalogue out Wednesday BM58 Handicap – 1135m.

No1 LIKE TO THINK SO fought hard to post a brilliant half-length win at his debut over 1209m in a maiden at Echuca. Then returned to the track to finish a sound fifth over 1100m on November 20. He is on the up and can go back to best.

No5 THE CONSIGLIERE has been placed twice at two starts back from a spell. Latest he ran a solid third as a heavily backed $2.25 favourite over 1100m at Ararat on November 12. He wears blinkers, a Norton bit for the first time.

No4 THE BONT was plunged from $9.50 into $5.50 when finishing a close second over 1121m here on November 21. Had no luck in running that day from barrier nine and has a superior alley in gate two today. Respect.

No6 CAB FAIR (BEST ROUGHIE) is resuming from a long spell and has a good record when racing fresh. Has been well prepared for this start with two trials over 800m at Cranbourne in October. Had plenty of time to get stronger and would keep safe.

VALUE RUNNER: No6 CAB FAIR

R6 – 3.50pm. IGA Liquor has Christmas sorted BM64 Handicap – 2255m.

No3 MISS STRATHALLAN (BEST BET) was impressed by the courage she showed under pressure to fight on strongly when running a close third over 1850m at Kyneton on November 8. She was strongly supported that time from $7 into $5.50 and gave her supporters a brave performance. On the same weight on 59.5kg and can go better.

No5 PRINCE ZIGGY gets top jockey Brad Rawiller to ride and did race well last start at this track.

No10 MENEGATTI is building a bridesmaid reputation with three successive seconds at last three starts.

No6 SAILORS FALLS won his maiden at Kilmore in style and is capable of taking this next step.

VALUE RUNNER: No6 SAILORS FALLS

R7 – 4.25pm. Geelong Homes BM64 Handicap – 1750m.

No4 RIVER REWARD has yet to finish outside the money at past three starts. Was plunged into a white hot $1.26 favourite and won stylishly over 1623m in maiden at Moe on November 21. That was a great start to his winning form and can repeat.

No1 MICK’S HUSTLER is a seven-year-old who ran a fair seventh over 1400m at Ballarat on November 6. Has been given a freshen up and gets a senior jockey in Brad Rawiller replacing and apprentice. Makes each-way appeal.

No6 BREAK AND ENTER concluded last campaign with a big win on a bog track over 1700m at Warrnambool. Has yet to strike back into the winner’s circle at three starts this preparation but has been thereabouts with a last start close fourth over 1800m.

No12 SEUL SPIRIT has finished inside the money at three of past five starts. Ran a solid fourth over 1600m at Ballarat last start on November 6. Gets top jockey Michael Walker as his new pillion and is well drawn in five.

VALUE RUNNER: No12 SEUL SPIRIT

R8 – 5.05pm. Elephant & Castle after the last BM64 Handicap – 1335m.

No2 MR LIBERTY will wear a crossover noseband for the first time. Last start ran ninth but had excuses when pulled way too hard early and that is why the gear change. Was a fighting winner over 1600m at Morphettville four starts ago.

No11 PAPER CHASER showed great dash first-up from a spell when scoring an easy win over 1200m against F&M at Mornington on November 13. She drops a kilo to 57kg and top apprentice Ben Allen keeps the ride.

No14 CHARLTON has been an outstanding winner on the synthetic track at Pakenham at two of past four starts. Will be first up today but was given a solid trial when finishing third over 990m at Cranbourne on November 14. Chance.

No12 PETE’S DRAGON is resuming from a 19-week spell. Did trial and showed plenty of pace to post a comfortable 3 length win over 990m at Cranbourne on November 27. Has a fabulous record fresh of a win and a third at two starts.

VALUE RUNNER: No12 PETE’S DRAGON
