Morphettville (Friday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Morphettville. Today’s best bet is in race 4.
Morphettville hosts a Friday afternoon twilight meeting in the lead up to Christmas.
There are four maidens to kick off the meeting so it is a shade difficult to find stand-outs early but there looks to be a few good bets later on the card.
The False rail will be moved out to the three-metre position from the 1200m to the winning post and will be at the true position for the remainder of the course.
The track is rated as a Good 4 (Wednesday) and with fine weather forecast that should remain in place.

VALUE RUNNER: No5 FLYING KRUPT
R2 – 4.05pm. Adelaide Galvanising Boxing Day Family Races / SABOIS Maiden Plate – 1050m.
No7 MODULATE looks a top chance against a field of mostly consisting of debutantes. Latest he ran a challenging third over 1000m 3yo maiden here on November 25. That was his first start for 19 weeks and should be improved.
No11 YOELQUI has been placed twice at his three starts. Latest he ran a sound fifth over 1000m maiden here on November 25. Was improving all the way down the straight that day and from gate three makes appeal.
No8 THOMPSON’S REWARD captured the eye when finishing strongly at his debut to run third over 900m maiden at Murray Bridge on December 3. The barrier in 11 is a setback but he does get ace Adelaide jockey Jamie Kah to ride.
No10 WEDGEBROOK will sport blinkers at his debut. He won a trial over 1000m here in style on December 7. He is by leading stallion Hinchinbrook and he gets the in-form Todd Pannell to ride at his debut.
VALUE RUNNER: No10 WEDGEBROOK
R3 – 4.40pm. Holdfast Insurance / SABOIS Maiden Plate – 1200m.

No6 BAJAN has the blinkers removed for the first time. Is first-up from a 20-week spell after finishing a close seventh in a Listed race here on July 22. That was a good performance and has been placed twice at his four starts.
No2 FORT NECESSITY gets Group 1 winning jockey Joe Bowditch to ride and gave a good effort to run third over 1200m maiden at Murray Bridge on December 3. Has an excellent barrier in three to use his pace.
No8 THAT’S TWO SLABS should take benefit from his debut performance where he ran a good third over 1100m in a maiden at Gawler on November 29. Top jockey Jason Holder rides from gate six and is one of the better chances.
VALUE RUNNER: No8 THAT’S TWO SLABS
R4 – 5.15pm. Hughes Limousines Maiden Plate – 1600m.
No11 SHROUDED IN MIST (BEST BET) is from the leading stable of Tony McEvoy and has ace Adelaide jockey Jamie Kah to ride. The combination of trainer and jockey has been lethal of late and she was beaten only centimetres first-up when second over 1400m here on November 25. She was a hot favourite at $2.80 and punters can get their money back here. Hard to beat.
No6 INDIAN MO has been in the money at his past two starts and has the pace to be prominent.
No4 HE’S GOT SKILLS interference cost him all chance last time out and has blinkers replacing the winkers.
No8 ELECTRUM has drawn to do no work in gate one and is only having second career start. Can improve.
VALUE RUNNER: No8 ELECTRUM
R5 – 5.50pm. Medallion Homes Benchmark 60 Hcp – 1050m.
No1 SWISS DESIGN showed he was on target for a big assault with a smart win in a 1000m trial here on December 7. He has won and been placed second at his four starts so far and he does go well fresh. Will carry 56.5kg with the 3kg claim.
No4 WICKED AFFAIR is resuming from a 35-week spell and has the blinkers removed. Has a fair first-up record with a second at three starts. Ran solidly here two starts ago to finish a good second over a 1000m and looks a chance.
No7 ATLANTIS BAR was given a freshen up following a strong third over 1058m at Balaklava on November 22. Gets top jockey Joe Bowditch to steer from a good draw in gate six and the stable is running very hot.
No8 WILANDER PRINCESS has been placed at her past two starts. Latest she ran a close second over 1000m at Murray Bridge on December 3. The 2kg claim reduces her weight to a comfortable 55.5kg but in barrier 11 will have to cross.
VALUE RUNNER: No8 WILANDER PRINCESS
R6 – 6.20pm. UBET Class Two Handicap – 1200m.
No1 TROGIR (NEXT BEST BET) has a good record at this track and will be fresh from a three-week break. Latest was badly checked when finishing sixth over 1200m here on November 18. He was heavily backed into a hot $2.70 favourite that day. Forgive the run and with the 1.5kg claim gets in nicely on weights on 58kg. Has drawn in two and will be prominent through out.
No11 STREET LIFE is a Murray Bridge winner five starts ago and looks well placed in this field.
No4 RUPTURE with the blinkers going back on and form has been consistent would respect.
No3 JUST A BIGGER DASH was a very easy winner at Clare over 1100m last start. Capable.
VALUE RUNNER: No11 STREET LIFE
R7 – 6.50pm. Greg Venn's Significant Birthday BM 64 Handicap (Heat Star of Xmas) – 1600m.
No1 DANCES ON STARS absolutely blitzed them by 3.2 lengths over 1550m at Bordertown on December 10. He is racing in full fettle and the sole concern is the quick back up. He did win with ease and with the 3kg claim will drop down to 60kg.
No7 ROWDY RICHARD (BEST ROUGHIE) was doing his best work at the finishing when running a strong fourth over 1400m here on December 2. He gets top jockey Todd Pannell replacing Clare Lindop and will carry 56.5kg, which is 2.5kg more but this is far milder.
No3 RED DAZZLE was a clever 1.7 length winner over 1600m at Strathhalbyn on December 6. With the 3kg claim of Victor Wong will carry a comfortable 56.5kg today and looms with good each-way claims.
No4 SOMETHING MORE with Jamie Kah to take the reins is worth giving another chance. She ran a solid ninth after having to dodge traffic over 1400m here on December 2. That was her third start from a spell.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 SOMETHING MORE
R8 – 7.20pm. The Junction Mares Benchmark 64 Handicap – 1100m.
No1 HAZY LANE showed she was primed for a strong first-up showing with a good win over 1000m trial here on December 7. She has the first-up figures of two wins at five starts and with Victor Wong’s 3kg claim will carry 60kg.

No2 BAKER’S DOZEN ran a good third to Swiss Design, who is well fancied for an earlier race, in a 1000m trial here on December 7. The gate in 11 does hurt but she has an excellent record fresh of a win and two placings at four starts.
No4 STORM FOX will carry only 55.5kg with the 3kg claim. She ran a smart fourth over 1260m at Balaklava on November 22 when carrying 58.5kg. The stable is on fire and she makes each-way appeal.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 STORM FOX
