BEST BET: Race 6 No 1 STAR ROCK

Has been a beaten favourite at all four runs. Was third on a Heavy 9 at Murwillumbah and is likely to appreciate the firmer surface. Give another go.

QUADDIE PICKS (races 5-6-7-8):

2,4,8,10 1,2,5,7 1,2,5,7 2,3,6,9

RACE 1

No6 MAJIKKUTESA Was a big run on debut at generous odds when second to Holdin My Own at the Gold Coast. Drops a bit of weight for this and her time wasn’t that far off the favourite in this.

No1 FALVELINO

No2 JUST FAVULOUS

No4 BRAVE JEWEL

RACE 2

No1 DESIRABLE MISS Races on the speed and is the leader here. Goes into this with a win at the Gold Coast on December 9 beating the well-supported Sharpamal. The one to beat.

No2 GOOD TO BE GREAT

No5 MUDDY ROPE

No 6 SEMI BLUE

RACE 3

No1 JOMAR SAGA Has only won once but has placed seven times from 11 career runs. Is ultra consistent but finds it hard to break through. Should be thereabouts at the finish again.

No2 ALASTRIONA

No 3 KANUI

No 5 BUBBA ROCKER

RACE 4

No1 DREAMSCOPE The five-year-old is first-up but Ben Currie and Jeff Lloyd combine here. They are a lethal combination and the horse should be ready to fire at his first run back since a second at Doomben on August 16.

No3 JUSTIFY

No4 TAKES TIME

No6 DESTINY’S SISTER

RACE 5

No4 TROMMELSCHALEGEN Did a power of work last start to be nabbed in the shadows of the post at the Sunshine Coast. First-up off a brief let-up and warmed up for the race with a big trial win at Doomben.

No10 THE RIDGE

No8 WALL STREET TYCOON

No2 LYRICAL PRINCE

RACE 6

No1 STAR ROCK (BEST BET) Has been a beaten favourite at all four runs. Was third on a Heavy 9 at Murwillumbah and is likely to appreciate the firmer surface. Give another go.

No2 OAKS AVENUE

No7 ALPHA CENTAURI

No5 APPRECIATED

RACE 7

No1 TORNADO OF SOULS Is due to break through. The Michael Costa-trained runner won on debut beating Tswalu 12 months ago, with that horse winning the last at Wyong yesterday. The gelding comes into this off a fourth at Doomben in a handy race.

No2 RUNWAY READY

No5 ABERLADY

No7 MONACO SNOB

RACE 8

No9 SHARP SPEEDO Ran a cheeky race last start at Doomben and did a similar thing two starts back in much harder grade. Has won or placed in 13 of 22 career starts. Consistent type.

No2 GOULDIAN

No3 SILOM ROAD

No6 KURRAJONG DRAGON
