An interesting Boxing Day meeting at Morphettville where the winners seem to stand-out with only small fields engaged on this eight-race card.
Leading trainer Tony McEvoy and ace Adelaide rider Jamie Kah are teamed with strong chances and the recent Group 1 winning trainer Lloyd Kennewell and Joe Bowditch looks to have a few nice runners and will be prominent. The weather is forecast to be fine and warm.
The track will be perfect as a Good 4 and the false rail will be at five metres from the 1200m to the winning post and at three metres for the remainder.

No4 TRENDSETTER looks to be a good chance today on his last start 3.6 length win over 2228m at Balalaklava on December 13. He won impressively despite being easy in the market at $3 favouritism after opening at $2.35. Raquel Clark’s 2kg sees him on 52kg.
No3 FLYING CASINO absolutely thrashed his rivals with a 7.3 length win over 2500m here on December 9. Jason Holder keeps the ride, which is a bonus and he jumps 3.5kg for the win to 57.5kg, which is a negative. Good chance.
No5 ROBOCOP ran a good second over 2225m here two starts ago before finishing sixth to Flying Casino here over 2500m Sairyn Fawke’s 2kg claim reduces the weight to 52kg and with no weight can make a good case.
No6 WICKED RHYTHM kept on plugging away to finish second to Flying Casino over 2500m here on December 9. Dom Tourneur replaces a 3kg apprentice and he will carry his full weight on 54kg. He carried 51kg last time. Each-way.

No1 GRUNT (BEST BET) hails from the top stable of Melbourne trainer Mick Price and comes here off a flying win over 1400m in a maiden at Werribee on December 10. Price has booked top Adelaide rider Jason Holder today and he did win by 4 lengths with another 1.5 lengths back to the third placed horse. The son of O’Reilly has won and been placed third at his two starts. Plenty of upside.
No3 DEPLORABLE was heavily plunged here last start and narrowly missed the cookies. Keep safe.
No7 TOO TUFF TARA has bountiful speed and will prove the one to catch today.
No4 TIYANE was a clever winner in a 1416m maiden at Balaklava at second career start. Respect.

No1 MADE IN RUSSIA (NEXT BEST BET) faces a small field but should pay better than bank interest and the collect is tax free. He hails from the top yard of Tony McEvoy and broke his maiden in style with a flying 2.3 length win over 14000m in a maiden here on December 2. The son of Street Cry has drawn perfectly in gate two and has Adelaide gun rider Jamie Kah to steer with top-weight on 59kg.
No5 PURRFECT KISSES should get a nice cart along behind with a good tempo up front today.
No3 RUSHWA was a fighting winner here two starts ago and prepared to forgive last start when faded a shade.
No4 BAD WOLF was an imposing 3.5 length winner two starts ago and last start was a grand effort to run second.

No12 MISS WAHOO underlined she was primed for a big effort first up with a close second over 1000m trial at Morphettville on December 7. She has been placed second and third at her two starts fresh and Jamie Kah rides.
No2 DATURA has finished in the placings at all three of his starts. Latest he ran a good third over 1058m at Balaklava on December 13. He didn’t finish as strong as expected that day when he was backed into a white hot $1.45 favourite.
No11 SHUCK she spreadeagled her rivals to post a convincing win over 1000m trial here on December 7. She finished third at her sole start fresh and with Group 1 winning jockey Joe Bowditch teaming with his Group 1 partner Lloyd Kennewell would respect.
No9 BOUNDRY GIRL is the stablemate to Shuck and gives the stable a good showing. She was given a soft trial over 1000m here on December 7. She resumed from a 154 weeks spell and would say due to an injury. Carries only 53kg.

R5 – 3.31pm. AAMI Handicap – 1200m.
No10 MILITARY FORCES has won at two of his past four starts. He was outgunned when starting in a Listed 1200m race here finishing eight on December 9. The in-form Todd Pannell replaced Krystal Bishop and is down in class.
No2 JOY FLIPPER was given seven-week respite after scoring a brilliant win over 1100m here on November 7. She will again be ridden by Victor Wong and his 3kg claim reduces her weight down to 55.5kg – 2kg more than last time.
No1 SHOW BENDER is nicely bred and notched successive wins recently. Last start ran a steady sixth over 1400m here on December 16. Has a perfect alley in gate three and with the 3kg claim will carry 57kg. Has admirers.
No6 ALASKAN JADE has been most consistent without winning. With apprentice Sairyn Fawke’s 2kg claim will carry 56kg and has drawn on the inside rail. Ran a good third over 1200m here on December 9 and would respect.

No6 SHOWPERO has not finished further back than fourth at past five starts. Latest she ran a fighting second over 955m at Moonee Valley on November 17. She has been kept fresh for this assault and with Raquel Clark’s 2kg claim carries 55kg.
No2 BIG EFFORT has won at three of his past five starts. Latest he ran last of 13 down the straight six at Flemington back in March. Has been given two trials over 1000m at Gawler and Morphettville in preparation for this race. Goes strong fresh.
No4 IRISH MINT showed too many guns from the front to lead his rivals a merry chase over 1000m here on December 16. Apprentice Victor Wong rides again and with his 3kg claim his weight is reduced to 54kg.
No12 REGAL SPUR has the lugging bit replacing the tongue control bit. Was placed at both his trials in the lead up to his return over 1000m here. He is having his first start for new trainer Tony McEvoy and the effervescent Jamie Kah rides.

No4 STEEL FROST has been in magnificent form with eight wins from 14 starts. Latest sprung on rivals like a leopard for a .9 length win over 1200m in a listed race here on December 9. Todd Pannell keeps the ride today and on 56kg is a strong chance.
No1 CASINO WIZARD was held up at a pivotal stage before finishing a strong second to Steel Frost over 1200m here on December 9. He goes into today’s rematch with the same weight on 59.5kg but meets his rival 2kg better.
No9 THIS KID ROCKS was trapped very deep for most of the journey and swept home well under the circumstances to run fourth over 1200m to Steel Frost on December 9. Again carries 54kg and is also better drawn in gate 3 (11).
No7 SUDDEN WEALTH has been racing in great stead and was a close third to Steel Frost over 1200m here last start on December 9. Had won at his previous two starts at this track and is having his fourth start from a spell here.

No10 VIVALDI’S QUEST faces an even bunch here and is known for his strong finishing bursts. Pay to draw a line through his last start 11th over 1200m here on December 9. He was at $4.40 but failed. Go on prior form.
No8 COOL MAVERICK broke through for a smart win over 1350m at Strathhalbyn on December 6. Jamie Kah rode from gate three and today he gest Dominic Tourneur from gate four. Plenty to like.
No12 STREET LIFE (BEST ROUGHIE) has been most consistent without winning finishing no further back than sixth at his past five starts. Latest ran a good second over 1200m here on December 16. Keep safe today.
No6 RUPTURE will sport blinkers again today. Latest he ran a solid fourth along the inside over 1550m here on November 15. Has been freshened up for this race with Paul Gatt again in the rider’s seat. Drawn nicely in three.
