NFL Playoff Futures Best Bets
An analysis of NFL teams who have made the NFL playoffs and where you can find the best value bets to profit from the remainder of the NFL season.
As the NFL regular season draws to a close we head into the business end of the season. The NFL playoffs bring with it a new atmosphere. It is an elimination format pitting the best teams throughout the regular season against each other.
Smart play: New England Patriots
Our pre-season prediction is looking pretty likely given the way the Patriots have been playing. Tom Brady is playing good football, Belichick is outsmarting all other coaches and the defence is bending but not breaking.
The Patriots are in a relatively weak AFC. The recent win over the Steelers all but confirmed their home field advantage. There is still some value in the Patriots at over $3 odds, but if it falls any lower I’d be looking elsewhere
TIP: Superbowl 52 Champion - New England Patriots
Dark Horse/Value Play: New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints are looking mighty fine right about now. They drafted wisely and have leant on the running tandem of Kamara and Ingram instead of putting all the pressure on Drew Brees and it has worked a charm.
New Orleans schematically have exactly what you want to see in a future bet, they just need to ensure their defence remains healthy.
The Saints hold a tonne of value going up against a number of NFC teams who have quarterbacks that haven’t experienced true playoff football.
TIP: Superbowl 52 Champion – New Orleans Saints
Long Shot: AFC Champions - Los Angeles Chargers
We tipped the Patriots to take out the Lombardi trophy before the season. We still feel strongly about that play but the Chargers with their balanced offense, and insane pass rushing ability sitting at around $34 to win the AFC Championship is just too much.
People’s perceptions of the Chargers is the dumpster fire they were to start the season, in recent weeks; they’ve played to their potential and have a sustainable recipe for success. Last season, before the Superbowl, Tom Brady showed signs of rust, if he shows those signs again, the Chargers D Line could have their way with New England.
TIP: AFC Champion – Los Angeles Chargers
