Gold Coast (Saturday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Gold Coast. Today’s best bet is in race 8.
The Gold Coast is back to its usual Saturday provincial time slot until its two big meetings on January 6 and 13. The track was lightning fast last Saturday but there has been rain on and off all week. Be alert for storms as the track can deteriorate quickly.

R1 - 12.28pm. AQUIS FARM LADIES DAY 6 JAN QTIS 3-Y-O Colts & Geldings Maiden Plate - 900m.
No1 AGGRAVATE Stable has a terrific strike rate with horses coming from the south. This one has good Victorian form and won a recent Gold Coast trial.
No4 HOSTWIN ZEPHYR From a strong Sydney stable and battled on well for third at the Gold Coast at most recent run. Each-way here.
No6 PROOF PERFECT Recent form okay and has been placed this track previously in good company.
No3 GWAPO Has been placed only twice in 10 starts but has run some good races in far better company. Could be a sneaky chance here.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 GWAPO
R2 - 1.03pm EARLY BIRD GA MAGIC MILLIONS QTIS 3-Y-O Fillies Maiden Plate - 900m.
No7 NAMO KEKENI Solid run when didn't appear suited by the tight track when second at Kilcoy at only start. Might be improved for this.
No2 ALL LOVE First starter from a strong stable who was solid in a recent trial when third at Deagon.
No9 UMAWINNER Had three handy trials before first-up third at Toowoomba. Might want further than this but still a strong chance.
No3 DIXYVILLE First start is a lot better than it looks on paper as had no luck and not far away at the finish.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 ALL LOVE
R3 - 1.38pm. UBET CALCUTTA DINNER Fillies and Mares Class 1 Handicap - 1200m.
No1 FLYING MACHINE (BEST BEST) Good win at Ballina last start followed three seconds in maiden class. But this is very weak and has always shown plenty of potential. Should be very hard to beat.
No3 CLIODHNA Has been around the money this campaign and won a Murwillumbah maiden three starts back, Has to be an each-way hope this weak race.
No7 WICKED KNICKERS Has won one of six starts and other five runs have been solid enough to be a hope here.
No4 RAVEN'S WING Was strong at the finish to win an Ipswich maiden three runs back and two runs since have been solid. Another with each-way claims.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 RAVEN'S WING
R4 - 2.18pm. LADIES DAY FIESTA EVENT CENTRE Benchmark 75 Handicap - 1400m.
No7 OH WHY First starter from a strong stable when trialled well at Deagon recently. This isn't very hard.
No4 LORD OF THE DREAMZ Has been placed past four starts and no luck latest when second at Ballina. Has to be one of the main hopes here.
No6 MADISON POINT Very good third this track and class two starts back and then terrible last time. On previous run has claims here.
No10 ISAVERDICT Terrible last start when ridden close to the pace. Needs to be ridden with cover back in the field and brought wide. Can then run a race at big odds.
VALUE RUNNER: No10 ISAVERDICT
R5 - 2.58pm. CHINESE NEW YEAR 17 FEB Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 1 Handicap - 1800m.
No6 GREY STEYNE Has been racing very well with wins Toowoomba and this track at past two when overcame difficulties both times. Up in distance but has a claim.
No7 CANONGATE Can be hard to catch but was at his best last start to win this track and distance. Always an each-way hope.
No2 FIRST CRUSH Has run well in stronger races than this and fitter for last start third this track over 1400m at last start.
No8 MY KIND Has had plenty of injury problems but won at Ballina two starts back when left alone in front. That is the key to her.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 FIRST CRUSH
R6 - 3.38pm. Chinese New Year C, G and E Class 1 Hcp - 1200m.
No2 THE AMBASSADORE Never lived up to early potential but good second at the Sunshine Coast here indicates is getting back to his best.
No3 BEYOND BRAVE Hasn't raced since July but has had two solid trials to be ready for this. Some rain would help.
No1 LOVE YA MRS Only start was big odds but win well at Doomben in maiden company. Chance again this harder race.
No7 CHARMING PRINCE Resuming and won a Gold Coast trial recently. Has a 3kgs claim and looks well placed.
VALUE RUNNER: No7 CHARMING PRINCE
R7 - 4.18pm. BOOK TICKETS @ GCTC.COM.AU Ratings Band 0 - 65 Handicap - 1400m.
No2 MONACO PLAYBOY Strong win at Ipswich last start was a good indicator for this. Has a claim and the inside barrier.
No6 SAME OLD (BEST ROUGHIE) Good winner here two back and no luck this track last start when in wrong part of the track. Some rain would improve his hopes.
No8 HOPE ISLAND Usually not far from the money but doesn't win many. This is the right type of race for him and a wet track would help.
No1 GOULDIAN Goes best when he can lead and battle on as he did in close second at Ipswich last start. Apprentice's claim here and rain a help.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 SAME OLD
R8 - 4.58pm. SEAFOOD BUFFET GALLERY RESTAURANT Class 5 Handicap - 1300m.
No4 RHYME NOR RHYTHM (NEXT BEST BET) Likes this track and beaten a nostril by an in-form horse here last start. Has a claim here and ready to win again.
No5 CHARLIE CAT Smart horse when on his best behaviour. Likes this track and much better than recent Doomben failure.
No1 SHE'S MISS DEVINE One of those horses who never reaches their early potential. Two runs from a spell have been just fair but has a hope on old form.
No9 ALL THAT IS If the promised rain comes he will nearly start favourite but still some hope on a dry track. Forget last-start failure at Doomben when struck trouble and go on previous solid form.
VALUE RUNNER: No9 ALL THAT IS
