Another Sunday at the Sunshine Coast which continues to hold up fairly well for a very big workload. Plenty of rain and the false rail out seven metres means horses getting to the ridge in the middle of the track will have an advantage.
QUADDIES (races 5-6-7-8)
Skinny Play: 2,3/2,10/1,3/5,7
Wide Play: 2,3,5,6/2,4,10,13/1,3,6,9/1,5,7,8
BEST BET: R3 – 2. SHOWUS YA DIAMONDS
Next Best Bet: R2 – 9. PENNINO
Best Roughie: R1 – 4. HIDDEN GOLD
No2 SCRABBLE Very consistent in some tough races before scored an overdue win this track last start. Needs plenty of early pace and some risk he won't get that here. But looks the one to beat.
No4 HIDDEN GOLD (BEST ROUGHIE) Two runs from a spell have been okay without being anything special. But does like wet tracks and this distance suits.
No1 DARBADAR Former Victorian who has some strong form in provincial and city racing. Has had two solid trials for this.
No6 ADOBE MIST Ran on strongly when second last start at the Gold Coast will be fitter here.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 HIDDEN GOLD
No9 PENNINO (NEXT BEST BET) Very green in the straight at only start when second this track in a two-year-old. Handles the wet and looks very hard to beat with a run under her belt.
No3 NARDA SHAR Will be improved by first run when third this track on a rain affected track. Each-way again.
No6 AETHERIUS Has been very consistent without winning in these sort of races. Always an each-way hope.
No8 NOOKS AND CRANNIES Gold Coast two-year-old who has had two trials for this winning the latest in handy fashion. Deserves respect.
VALUE RUNNER: No8 NOOKS AND CRANNIES
No2 SHOWUS YA DIAMONDS (BEST BET) Very promising filly who made short work of a Doomben maiden field last month. Given plenty of time to get over that run and should beat this lot without much trouble.
*SCRATCHED* No3 ENTERPRISE ROSIE Won her second start at Beaudesert back in August. Has trialled twice for her comeback here.
No4 TEAGZ Form is better than it looks as past few starts has had no luck at all. Winner this track four starts back and rates each-way thoughts here.
*SCRATCHED* No5 SHES AN EAGER LASS Last-start winner at Toowoomba and this isn't all that much harder. Has some claims.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 TEAGZ
No4 TARZAN Has had a couple of setbacks lately but does hold the track record for this distance and is ideally drawn here. No luck latest when unplaced at Doomben but won three on end before that.
No5 POWERFUL SAGA Honest as they come and not far away when sixth at Doomben at his last-start. Another who always does his best.
No1 ROCKY KING Has won 17 races and 15 at this distance but is a light of better days. Still runs some good races and is always an each-way hope in these races.
No2 TISANI TOMSO Has solid form for a race like this and not a bad run when midfield in a Listed race at his last start. This suits a lot better.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 POWERFUL SAGA
No2 KINGAROY Has won his past two starts in strong fashion. Can make it three on end here.
No3 TIARNAN Led all of the way got a runaway win at Ballina last start. Will try similar tactics here.
No5 HIGH WIND Has had 20 starts for one win and eight minor placings which about sums him up. Usually an each-way chance these races.
No6 CREATIONIST Placed past couple in the northern rivers and getting out to a suitable distance now.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 CREATIONIS
No13 TRAVISTEE Very good third at only start and this looks an ideal race.
No2 ELVISON ran home well for third this track last time. Getting near a win.
No4 INVINCIBOY Two good placings before failed here last start when didn’t appear to handle the going.
No10 RISEUPSKATING Last-start second here was best run to date. Well drawn now.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 ELVISON
No6 DON’T LEAVE ME OUT strong win at only start and has drawn a barrier to let him sit on the pace with cover.
No3 ECKER ROAD Something of a surprise winner last start this track but did it in style. Rates highly again.
No1 PRIDE OF DESTINY Winner this track nearly 12 months ago. Resuming here with two solid trials under his belt.
*SCRATCHED* No9 STAR OF POMPEII Resuming here but has handy form this type of race. Trialled fairly recently.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 ECKER ROAD
No5 CLASSY RUBY Form has been solid in much harder races. A soft track and 2400m suits very well here.
*SCRATCHED* No1 FIRST STIMULUS Missed the start but flew home for third in a far tougher race than this at the Gold Coast. Up in weight but a genuine chance.
No7 ROCKET ON BOARD has not finished worse than fourth at past eight starts but has poor win record. Obvious each-way contender again.
No8 YOU DON’T SAY MOLLY Led all of the way to win a maiden at 2200m last start. She should stay this trip.
VALUE RUNNER: No8 YOU DON’T SAY MOLLY
