The biggest day of the year for the Gold Coast with races worth a total of $10 million. Big fields are the order of the day and it is traditionally a day for big priced winners. We will look for value in most races and hope we can come up with some big paying exotics and winners. There is always a stack of pace and luck plays a big part. Of course as always be alert for storms as the track can deteriorate quickly.

BEST BET: R1 - 10. DINNIGAN
Next Best Bet: R6 – 3. CRACK ME UP
Best Roughie: R4 – 11. ALL TOO HUIYIN
No10 DINNIGAN (BEST BET) Led and fought on very well when second in the Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate last start. Taking on older horses here but this is a massive drop in class. Drawn to get the run of the race here.
No1 MISSILE STRIKE Stable has a good strike rate in this race and he has trialled well leading into this. Has been placed in both Victoria and NSW and looks suited here from barrier 1.
No5 BALEARIC Hasn't been worse than fourth in seven starts mainly on Sydney metropolitan tracks. Good fourth at Randwick last start gives him a strong hope here.
No2 WESTROCK Fought on well when second at Gosford at his last start and there is something of a wrap on him. One of the hopes here.
VALUE RUNNER: No1 MISSILE STRIKE
No11 SUGGAN BUGGAN Promising horse who gets back in his races and can hit the line hard. This race is always run at a fast pace which will suit him. Last time ran home well for third this track in November and has had a freshen for this.
No6 PURE REBEL Had some solid provincial form in NSW before a spell and no luck when unplaced at Randwick last time. Looks well placed this field from a handy barrier.
No2 CONCA DEL SOGNO Prolific winner in central Queensland where has won seven races. Beaten for the first time in five starts when second at Rockhampton last time but is fitter now.
No4 FIT FOR PURPOSE Won starts since a spell in good style and then got too far back when sixth at Doomben last time. Was in the wrong part of the track last time and deserves another chance.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 PURE REBEL
No2 SIEGFRIED Handy galloper on his day and very wide the whole way when fifth here last Saturday. Has a much better barrier draw here and should be a lot closer in the run.
No7 SECRET TRAIL Has been a good while between wins but trialled well in Sydney lately and has won this track in a previous campaign. Chance here on trial effort.
No3 HAVASAY Has run third at both his runs since a spell and had no luck after getting a long way back in both. This race should be run at a fast speed and watch for him late.
No1 UPSTART PRIDE Fast horse who was third this track at his last start in a handy effort. The 1300m is as far as he wants to go but does like this track.
VALUE RUNNER: No7 SECRET TRAIL
No7 FELTRE Won this track at 1800m two runs back and then fifth latest when in the wrong part of the track at the same distance here. Has run second at his past two tries in this race and is surely overdue.
No2 PAYROLL Has really hit top form of late winning his past two starts in Melbourne in strong fashion. This distance suits and was third at only start this track. A top chance.
No11 ALL TOO HUIYING (BEST ROUGHIE) Has been second at his past two starts this track over 1800m in three-year-old company. Drops sharply in weight for taking on older horses here. Has won at Flemington and will probably lead this field.
No5 BLACK ON GOLD Has had a wrap on him after a couple of wins in Sydney. Failed last start in the Randwick Summer Cup but better placed here and looks very hard to beat.
VALUE RUNNER: No11 ALL TOO HUIYING
No1 GLOBAL GLAMOUR By far the best performed horse here who is resuming after finishing midfield in the Myer Classic at Flemington in the Spring. But has won two trials in Sydney and ready to fire here.
No7 NOTONYOURLIFE She is in foal but never racing better with a stakes win and close second in recent starts. This suits but just a small question on whether she is up to the class on some of these.
No4 ECKSTEIN Loves this track and much better than last-start failure at Randwick in a top class race. Back against own sex here and appeals as a value runner.
No12 PEPPERANO Has been placed in top company on this track and no luck at all in two runs since a spell. Is a Flemington winner and rates well from a good barrier.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 ECKSTEIN
No3 CRACK ME UP (NEXT BEST BET) Very good galloper who won the Villiers at Randwick at his last start. Has had a freshen up to come back to 1400m here but is one of the few top chances who is well drawn. Very hard to beat.
No6 ARBEITSAM Likes to roll along on the pace and gets that chance from the inside barrier here. Won three on end before recent Wyong failure but is better than that.
No11 CARE TO THINK Very promising horse who has overcome difficulties to win his past two starts. Has a terrible barrier so will have to do it again here. But too good to ignore.
No14 CRAFTY COP Has not been far way in easier races of late but has a light weight and a good barrier here. Is the type of horse who usually wins this race and an each-way hope.
VALUE RUNNER: No 14 CRAFTY COP
No2 GOODFELLA We have gone with some value here. He got home very strongly when third at Doomben last time and the 1400m will suit very well. He ran fourth in the Two Year Old Classic last year and can go a few better here.
No1 PIERATA Has been in outstanding form and far too strong at the finish in a stakes race at Doomben last time. Has won two and been a most unlucky second in three starts this campaign. Looks very hard to beat but only worry where he will get to from an inside barrier.
No4 CURDLED Should have finished a lot closer last start in a stakes race at Doomben. No luck at past few starts and the 1400m is ideal for him.
No7 SHOGUN SUN An overnight storm would help him but has raced well this track and the 1400m suits. Should be able to get the run of the race.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 CURDLED
No11 SUNLIGHT She has done the right thing by us by winning her past two starts in brilliant fashion. Both have been on this track and although she has a bad barrier she should be in the fight for a long way.
No1 JONKER Has won both his starts brilliantly with the latest at Wyong in a big prizemoney race. Ideally drawn here for his racing style.
No9 MERYL Sat off the speed and charged home to win at Doomben in stakes company last time. Should get a perfect run.
No2 EF TROOP Unbeaten colt who has shown great speed at both wins. Barrier no help here but has the early pace to overcome it.
VALUE RUNNER: No9 MERYL
No3 VIDDORA Group 1 winning mare who is having first start since winning the Winterbottom Stakes in Perth. Much travelled mare who has been second at only start on this track. Very hard to beat.
No14 SNITZKRAFT Back to his best with an all the way win at Doomben last start. Smart three-year-old who is down in the weights. Rates highly.
No5 PINCH RIVER Has feet problems but racing very well. Good Doomben winner two starts back and no luck latest start.
No9 EGYPTIAN SYMBOL Another top class mare who is a dual acceptor. Good Rosehill winner last start and has won two trials since.
VALUE RUNNER: No14 SNITZKRAFT
