Warwick Farm (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Warwick Farm. Today’s best bet is in race 6
Warwick Farm for our Wednesday meeting in Sydney, we have seven races on the card here in what is a small meeting. We are on the build to the autumn carnival now and we have seen some good horses at the trials and a few could make there way through the midweeks. The rail is out 3m, and with fine weather on the leadup we should be on a good track.

Wide Play: 1,3,8,9 - 3,5,9,10 - 2,7,11 - 2,4,7,12
BEST BET: R6 – 10. NINES ENOUGH
Next Best Bet: R7 – 12. DANZIE
Best Roughie: R5 – 3. SIR BARB
R1 – 1.35pm. TAB.com.au Handicap - 1400m.
No2 KISSING GAME comes out of what should be a good form race last start behind Sasso Corbaro on a Saturday at Randwick. Sasso Corbaro has since run well at the Magic Millions behind Pierata. Good enough form. This filly had won well at Canterbury prior to that and now comes back in grade here and should run well.
No1 HIGH LOW BET shocked the market on debut when winning on Anzac day at $14, the follow up run at Canterbury was ok enough. She has had a spell, and has trialled in ok enough fashion coming into this, 1400m fresh shouldn’t be a worry as she is bred to be an Oaks filly.
No4 STELLA VICTORIA has been very good in all nine starts without winning, she has hit the placings seven times, so she is a very consistent filly who does deserve a breakthrough. She is stepping up here from maiden level however, but the form does tie in and she should run well.
No5 AFTER THOUGHT smashed them when breaking the maiden at Kembla and running really fast time, but that’s how the track ended up playing that day, so the raw figure is not as strong as it looks. But the way she ran through the line, the further she gets. The better she will get and she should run well.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 STELLA VICTORIA
R2 – 2.15pm. Casino Prince @ Vinery Handicap - 1400m.
No1 CONDOR resumes here and brings quite good form to this race despite being a maiden. He has run into Calculated, Heliosphere, Seige Of Qebec etc. so far. They are some very strong 2yo, now 3yo, formlines. The trials coming in have been quite good. The draw looks a touch sticky, but this is a chute start and a long run in, so Brown has plenty of time to make up his mind.
No8 SONG AND A PRAYER found the line well on debut at Randwick in what seems to be an ok enough race. She looks like she will get better over further, but stays at the 1400m here. Thompson horses do tend to improve into their preparation and no shock to see her finish over the top here.
No2 LEAGUE OF NATIONS well, I have had enough of this horse personally. He promises the world and lets down like an average horse. It will all click one day for him, he has had the blinkers taken off now, maybe that is it? He has run well without winning in a lot of races and he is a chance again.
No4 ROCKIN’ RUGA was good enough on debut and should take a lot if improvement out of that race, after some quite impressive trials. I think that Al Mah Haha is quite a nice horse, so I am happy to follow that form line with confidence.
VALUE RUNNER: No8 SONG AND A PRAYER
R3 – 2.50pm. TAB Handicap - 1000m.
No6 ANNA’S JOY is the “new” kid on the block here, having only had three starts for two strong wins. Wagga form doesn’t usually translate to Sydney, but she carried a 4kg kid having his first or second ride when she won, and it was a talent win more than a steer. The Kembla form is strong enough though.
No7 MOCCASIN MISS sits just behind the speed here and has been quite good in both runs this time in. she drops in grade off her last start run and now comes to her home track, and 1000m shouldn’t be an issue at all.
No3 KING’S TARIFF has been very good in both runs this time in, and looks the likely leader here. He is a flying machine who will jump and run them along and try to break them apart here, the claim for JVO is quite attractive here.
No2 AKASAKI got his heart broken last start by Montreal as he had to carry the field up that day when Montreal was running them along at a decent clip and they couldn’t keep up. Forgive the effort there and go off the prior run and he is a chance.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 ANNA’S JOY
R4 – 3.25pm. #THERACES Handicap - 1200m.
No1 FANNING brings the best form to this by a long way and has been closing off well in much better races than this. Back in grade and to the home track with Collett aboard he is going to be very hard to beat here.
No8 WITCHES won well fresh at Randwick in an ok enough race and looked as if she had a lot more to come for that. The second-up record is quite poor, but overall her record is quite good and given the way she won fresh I am looking past that.
No9 ELOUERA resumes here with no trial which intrigues me here. She is a Saturday winner last time in, in a solid race. 1200m could be a touch too short for her, but she brings a good record here.
No3 ALL IN RHYTHM was a strong winner last start at Goulburn and has compiled a solid enough record over the short career. Turner and Poletti horses do seem to grow a leg on their home track and this one should run well.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 ALL IN RHYTHM
R5 – 4.05pm. TAB Rewards Handicap - 1600m
No3 SIR BARB (BEST ROUGHIE) looks set to peak here after two very good runs this time in, in better grade than this. 1600m on his home track back to a Wednesday all look suitable here for Cunningham who would have picked this race out for him a long time ago, I want to be with him.
No5 PROMETHEUS did his best impersonation of Winx last start, after missing the kick and flying over the top of them late to win. That was a weak race, but there was something to like about the win there. He is 2/2 this time in and he is on the way up.
No10 BARBEQUE up to a mile looks very suitable here and didn’t get the best of rides last start from Avdulla. That last start run should hold up quite well form wise, and the way he ran through the line there suggested that 1600m will not be an issue for this son of Helmet.
No9 TAHSIN won in good style in the Mudgee Cup when doing it quite tough. He has had six weeks since that run and a trial where he looked to go quite well and has kept his form. He gets a soft run on the map here from gate 1 and just needs some luck straightening.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 SIR BARB
R6 – 4.45pm. Schweppes Handicap - 1300m.
No10 NINES ENOUGH (BEST BET) got skittled soon after the beginning last start and was never given a chance to win that race, completely forget that she went around there. But go off the SP, as she was $2.70 into $2 there, which showed a lot of market support. Go off the first-up run behind Sasso Corbaro, where we have already seen that form hold up well. If she gets luck, she will breakthrough for a well-deserved win.
No7 IT’S SO OBVIOUS resumes here and has trialled in good order coming into the fresh run. She is a mare with untapped ability and should run well here given her good fresh record and her affinity with Clark.
No11 RUMBA QUEEN smashed them last start at Moruya with the big weight and should sit off them again here. The claim down to 54kg is a smart one by Williams and she should run well here.
No4 ALERT BY SEA comes out of a good race last start behind Lake Lurgano where she found the line in good order. Claiming down to 56.5kgs here gets her right in the race here.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 ALERT BY SEA
R7 – 5.20pm. 2018 ATC Membership Handicap - 1400m.
No12 DANZIE (NEXT BEST BET) resumes here and looks to be a very smart conveyance in the making. He was a strong winner on debut at Goulburn, before getting touched off twice when a very short fav to end his first prep. He has had a good break since and has had two trials coming into this second preparation. I loved the second trial where he extended quite well when asked by JVO. Collett jumps on here and has been on him in the past, gate 1 is the only worry for me here.
No7 MARROCK got run down in the final strides last week at Canberra in a very strong effort, he gets a weight drop here which will help and the chute start should allow him to dominate this race.
No4 TIME OUT OF MIND is a horse who I have time for, but has never gone to that level I thought that he would. He has been solid enough in both runs this time in and does look set to peak here third-up with Avdulla on.
No2 TRAVANCORE got over the top of them on New Year's with a good finishing burst, he may well have been in the best going, but did have to get past Smartedge who is going quite well this time in. Back to his home track, he should hold his form.
VALUE RUNNER: No7 MARROCK
