Gosford (Thursday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Gosford. Today’s best bet is in race 7

Wed, 17 Jan, 12:00 AM

Gosford for provincial racing this Thursday, and it is their big day of the year with the Cup and the Guineas on the card here. Outside of that it is a touch of a disappointing day with only 59 acceptances on the entire card of seven races. The weather is meant to be stinking hot on race day, we are on a good track with the rail in the true position.

QUADDIES (races 4-5-6-7)

Skinny Play:  4,5  -  1,5  -  1,4,6  -  7

Wide Play:  3,4,5  -  1,5,6  -  1,3,4,6  -  3,7

Next Best Bet: R2 – 1. CONNOISSEUR

Best Roughie: R3 – 6. RAW EMOTION

R1 – 2.00pm. Guardian Safety Solutions Class 2 Handicap - 1600m.

No2 MR TICKETS has been in good enough form this time in, and deserves to break through here. He gets a soft run for Clark on the map and will be exposed late.

No3 GRAVITATE finds Bowman here and comes off a good win at Kembla last start, and should run well again.

No1 MARROCK looks the likely leader here and has been going well enough this time in. He should run well again.

No5 LOPE DE LOPE comes back in grade here and wasn’t too bad last start, he has his chance in this grade.

R2 – 2.35pm. Tooheys New Class 1 Handicap - 1100m.

No1 CONNOISSEUR (NEXT BEST BET) has been gelded since his last start and has trialled in good order since. He has always had the ability and now that he has been gelded we may well see the best of him. Blinkers have been added to sharpen him up here.

No9 GRASSLANDS resumes here and has trialled in very good order coming into the fresh run and looks a chance.

No4 AMERICANA MAGIC brings some very good form to this race, and has had a freshen up since the last start. He should run well.

No5 SPRING CHARLIE was a good winner on debut, and draws well here. The time out of the debut run was good enough for this.

R3 – 3.10pm. AVS Windows And Doors 3yo Maiden Handicap - 1600m.

No1 KUNG FU MASTER was very good on debut when running through the line, the step up to the 1600m is ideal now.

No6 RAW EMOTION (BEST ROUGHIE) will be suited by the step to the 1600m here, she was the one who I wanted to be with out of the Kembla race last start.

No3 DEVILS LUCK comes out of the same race last start and was good behind Aqua D’Ivina on debut, that form is good.

No5 SYTUS was solid in that same race at Kembla last start and should run well.

R4 – 3.45pm. Prestige Wedding and Event Hire Metro & Prov Maiden Plate - 1200m.

No5 IMPASSE is a brilliantly bred horse, who if he has half of his mum and dads ability, will be a very good horse. The trials have been ok enough coming in.

No4 EXCELLING was very good on debut and the form out of that has stacked up since and he can only improve at start 2.

No3 CRYSTAL BILLY draws a good gate for the debut run and has been well educated at the trials leading in.

No7 SEKIYAMA what can you say about her? Has the ability but loves a placing. Avdulla on a big plus.

R5 – 4.25pm. Audi Audio Central Coast Gosford Guineas - 1200m.

No5 BELLA MARTINI has been in fantastic form this time in winning the last two starts, the way she has been winning, she has more to come and is hard to beat here.

No1 ISLAND MISSILE comes out of a very good race last start, but does come back in distance.

No6 EPIDEMIC comes out of a good start last start behind Sasso Corbaro and should run well second-up.

No8 WE HAVE LIFT OFF was good when winning the maiden last start after a long break. She can only improve here.

R6 – 5.05pm. Gosford Quarries Gold Cup - 2100m

No4 MONTAUK aided by a brilliant M Cahill ride last start got the job done, he found the key to him and he looks hard to beat again.

No1 DESTINY’S KISS has been going quite well this time in, he is a grand old campaigner and has to be respected.

No6 SINGING has won his last two in good order in Brisbane, have to respect winning form.

No3 MIGHTY LUCKY has been going as well as ever this time in, the 2100m will be no issue at all.

R7 – 5.40pm. Tabcorp Malcom Cusick Stakes – Class 4 Handicap - 1200m.

No7 VICTOREM (BEST BET) did a lot wrong when winning first-up, but still won which was the main thing. The step up to the 1200m now is much more suitable, the trial on New Year’s Day was quite good and I liked that he went about his business properly. If he behaves, he wins.

No3 ALL STAND was just touched off by Victorem two back, before a big win last start. The form is there.

No4 FANNING has been going quite well this time in and drops well in grade here and should run well.

No2 STAR CROSSED looks set to peak third-up from a spell here, his two runs this time in have been good enough for this.
