Doomben has its first Saturday meeting of the month but has had two mid weeks when the rail was out a long way. The track will have appreciated the rest and should be very fast on Saturday. The track has had little rain but as we say it is storm season so be awake for any late track condition changes. As we keep saying the race pattern is pretty well set with on a dry to soft track with those on the pace suited early and backmarkers coming into their own late.

Next Best Bet: R2 – 5. SLYDINI

Best Roughie: R8 – 9. OF THE DAY

R1 - 12.27pm. WWW.BRC.COM.AU QTIS Two-Years-Old Handicap - 1110m.

No7 WINTER PASSAGE First starter who is very well bred. Won her only trial in good fashion and just needs luck from the wide barrier.

No3 CLOCKWISE At only start won a Sunshine Coast two-year-old which has turned out to be a strong form race. Should handle this class in the city.

No1 SPIRIT'S PRIDE First start was just fair but went very fast to lead all the way and win at Toowoomba. Has plenty of pace and a 3kgs claim here.

No5 CAMBOOMYA First starter who has had no public trial. However bred to go fast and stable has a record of first-up wins in two-year-olds.

VALUE RUNNER: No5 CAMBOOMYA

R2 - 1.02pm. GIRL'S DAY OUT RACEDAY Benchmark 90 Handicap - 1630m.

No5 SLYDINI (NEXT BEST BET) Regarded by many as just a wet-track horse but his ability on dry is also good. Has been second his past three starts including a very good run this track and distance two starts back.

No4 HUNTER JACK Has run seconds at his past three starts including a latest at Randwick in Sydney. Hard to beat here but his racing style means he might get into trouble from this barrier.

No3 DON'T TELL MAMA Getting back to her best and ran home well for third in an 1800m race at the Gold Coast last time. This is easier and goes well around this track.

No1 COLOUR CHARGE He is a quality horse at his best and hasn't had much luck in his two runs from a spell. Has won a trial recently and this looks a nice race for him.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 DON'T TELL MAMA

R3 - 1.37pm. GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB Ratings Band 0 - 70 Handicap - 1630m.

No13 IOWA Gold Coast winner three starts back and placed both runs since. This is up in class but it isn't very strong. She has a light weight and a good barrier.

No4 ROGALI Has failed more than a few times in town but good Coffs Harbour winner last start and this race suits nicely.

No2 CANONGATE Probably best at 1800m but has been racing very well of late with a win at the Gold Coast and a second that track. Chance in this ordinary race.

No1 SMOOTH CONSUL Recent form has been just fair but this is easier and has a good barrier and an allowance. Each-way here.

VALUE RUNNER: No4 ROGALI

R4 - 2.12pm. JAMES BOAG'S PREMIUM QTIS Three-Years-Old Handicap - 1350m.

No3 CRUZE Above average galloper who won this track and then had a nice run when third first-up at the Gold Coast. Fitter now and ready to show his best.

No2 DREAM KISSES There wouldn't be an unluckier horse in Brisbane and even managed to get four deep in a four horse race when second at Ipswich recently. Then no luck last time when second at the Gold Coast.

No1 BAT A KAT Most consistent three-year-old and a strong winner in a better race at the Gold Coast last start. The only worry is he is getting right up in the weights.

No4 TROMMELSCHLAGEN Terrible name to pronounce unless you are German. But won his past two starts and the provincials and ready to hit town now.

VALUE RUNNER: No2 DREAM KISSES

R5 - 2.52pm. 'ADDY'S GETTING HITCHED' OPEN Handicap - 1050m.

No5 TARZAN (BEST BET) Has won four of his past five starts running very fast times. Likes to lead and should be able to do that from his barrier in this field. Only has to run around the same time as last-start win this track to be hard to beat again.

No6 TISANI TOMSO Veteran galloper who was second at the Sunshine Coast last start in handy time. Has the rail here and should get a nice trail.

No9 INVICIBLE HEART Good second at the Gold Coast last start and other form handy. Has a 3kgs claim here which is a help.

No3 HARD STRIDE Has been a while between wins but usually races well fresh and has a fair record this track and distance. This isn't very strong.

VALUE RUNNER: No6 TISANI TOMSO

R6 - 3.32pm. RELAXED RACING Class 6 Handicap - 1350m.

No4 PLUCKY GIRL It is hard to think of a more honest horse than her. Won two of her past three starts including her last-start win at the Gold Coast. Top chance again.

No7 DON'T DENY US Consistent and stormed home to win last start at the Gold Coast in a handy race. One of the main chances again.

No2 COURTZA KING Started his campaign in a blaze of glory but tapered off a bit since. Battled away from fourth last start at the Gold Coast and has each-way hopes here.

No1 DESMON'S PRIDE Has been racing very well at the Gold Coast and was a good second there at surprisingly good odds at his last start. Up to this class now.

VALUE RUNNER: No1 DESMON'S PRIDE

R7 - 4.12pm. BRC MEMBERSHIPS Benchmark 75 Handicap - 2200m.

No2 KIRINI Tough mare who has been in great form since coming north from Sydney. Gold Coast winner last month and has since had a trial to keep ticking over.

No5 TONI MAY Has always shown promise but took a while to get back to her best this campaign. Strong last-start Sunshine Coast win gives her a hope here.

No13 EXPERTEA Showing promise as a stayer and fought on well when third at the Gold Coast over 2200m at last start. Each-way claims.

No10 ISN'T SHE ELEGANT Has run second at four of her five most recent starts around the provincial tracks. This is obviously harder but drops in weight.

VALUE RUNNER: No10 ISN'T SHE ELEGANT

R8 - 4.47pm. WEDDINGS AT BRC Benchmark 85 Handicap - 1200m.

No1 IL MIO DESTINO Has very strong Sydney form for a race like this. Now trained on the Sunshine Coast and looks one of the main chances.

No9 OF THE DAY (BEST ROUGHIE) Three runs from a spell have been in stakes races and although has not run a pace has not been disgraced. Down on the minimum eight has a handy barrier and has a good record this track and distance.

No3 DIVINE SERVICE Can be tricky at the barrier but on his day is very fast. Fitter for last-start fourth at the Sunshine Coast.

No6 LAND OFFICE Terrible when had no luck last start in a Listed company but big drop in class here and previous form was solid enough for this.

VALUE RUNNER: No9 OF THE DAY

R9 - 5.27pm. Ascot Green Class 3 Plate - 1200m.

No9 BRIGADOON RISE Has been racing well and caught in the last stride this track and distance last start when second. Harder race here but fitter and ready to win.

No6 HAPPY HOOVES Loves to roll along upon the pace and should get his chance here. Hasn't been out of the place past six starts including good last-start second this track.

No10 CONNIVING Should have nearly won when fourth this track over 1110m last time. This distance suits better and has a good barrier.

No14 MISS KINDILAN Promising mare who won impressively this track last start. The second horse has since won and the form line looks strong.

VALUE RUNNER: No10 CONNIVING
