Morphettville (Saturday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Morphettville. Today’s best bet is in race 7.
With South Australia being roasted again by a heat-wave this meeting has been shifted into the twilight hours with the first race kicking off at 2.26pm.
The combination of Adelaide’s leading trainer and jockey Tony McEvoy and Jamie Kah combining with Miss Wahoo in Race Five looks one of the better bets on the eight-race card. McEvoy and Kah have been in brilliant form and should again dominate in what is a small field of only seven runners.
Don’t expect any great odds but she should be better than at her last start when she was a $1.40 favourite and won here. The false rail has been shifted back to the true position and the track has been irrigated. The curator expects the track to race as a good 4.

No2 ARTISTOCRTATIC MISS put the score up on the board with a third down the straight 1000m in a Group 3 at Flemington on November 7. Was given a warm up trial over 900m at Murray Bridge on January 9 and looked to have the goods with a soft win.

No6 SOMETHING MORE gets Adelaide’s top rider Jamie Kah and will give a good account here on last start over 1705m at Gawler on January 7. The extra distance today should not worry the mare and rate her a good chance.
No2 TUNES did not have the sweetest of runs when finishing fifth over 2112m at Gawler on January 7. He had ran a solid second over 2500m at Morphettville at his prior start and he looms with claims dropping 5kg to 54.5kg here.

R5 – 5.01pm. James Boag’s Premium Handicap – 1300m.
No6 MISS WAHOO (NEXT BEST BET) the combination of jockey Jamie Kah and trainer Tony McEvoy has proven strong and they team up here to stretch this filly’s dominance after she decimated her opposition by 4 lengths over 1050m in a maiden here on December 26. She only goes up a half-kilo to 55kg and is ideally drawn in gate one to spring forward to a good spot. Hopefully she is better than $1.30.
No3 FREEHEARTED Darren Weir has sent top rider Dean Yendall to accompany this last-start Sandown winner.
No2 JOY FLIPPER kicked off the campaign with a flyer to run a strong second and should strip fitter.
No7 ROSEWEDGE hails from the top Melbourne stable of Mick Price and Victorian form is solid.

No10 MERIDIAN STAR posted two smart wins in the country at Victoria this campaign. Last start she met a classy field of fillies and mares, finishing a credible 12th after leading over 1200m at Caulfield on December 26. Drawn well in four.
