Betting tips for every race at Newcastle. Today’s best bet is in race 4

Thu, 18 Jan, 10:06 AM

Newcastle four our Saturday provincial meeting here in the Sydney area, we have seven races on the card here with low acceptances. Probably not helped with five meetings in four days in the Sydney area. We are on the inner track here with the rail +5m 600m to WP, True Remainder. The track will be good.

QUADDIES (races 4-5-6-7)

Skinny Play:  2  -  1,2  -  4,6  -  5,9

Wide Play:  2  -  1,2,7  -  3,4,6,9  -  1,5,9,11

Next Best Bet: R1 – 1. EQUIPPED

Best Roughie: R2 – 2. JUST SHINE

R1 – 2.49pm. Iron Jack Class 1 & Maiden Plate - 2000m.

No1 EQUIPPED (NEXT BEST BET) won a BM60 last start when breaking the maiden and was quite strong there and comes back in grade here to a class 1 race. The horses that he has taken on have been quite good and are of a Saturday level. If he holds his last start form he wins, simple.

No2 I AM BAYMAX won well last start and should run well again stepping up in grade.

No4 VARUSKA closed off well last start in a race which should hold up quite well. He may want further though.

No8 CHAVIN steps up in distance here and looks to be much more suited getting up to the 2000m

R2 – 3.24pm. From The Track Magazine Class 1 Handicap - 1350m.

No1 AUERBACH won last start, just. He gets a good run on the map here just behind the speed and should run well.

No2 JUST SHINE (BEST ROUGHIE) has trialled well leading into this and has had a full prep under Cunningham which should hold him in good stead.

No5 JINGLES was good last start when closing off well, she gets a good run just behind them here.

No3 ABERRATION was disappointing last start when a short priced fav, he will want to bounce back here.

R3 – 4.04pm. Top Cut Foods Benchmark 60 Handicap - 1200m.

No5 PRIVILY was good enough first-up when running through the line, the step up to the 1200m shouldn’t be an issue at all.

No3 DAYTIME DANCER won well upon resumption, no jockey booked as of yet (Thursday night) so she may not run here.

No2 SO HARD TO CATCH was good enough first-up in a race which wasn’t run to suit. 1200m much more suitable also.

No1 URBAN PRINCE resumes here and has a big weight to carry, the form he brings is solid enough.

R4 – 4.44pm. Malman Constructions Maiden Handicap - 1150m.

No2 NATIONALITY (BEST BET) should just be winning this upon resumption here. He was well backed in a hot race on debut which looks to have two stakes winners ahead of him. He has been gelded coming into this prep and the trials coming in have been good, and he looks set for a soft kill.

No1 MR PLOW what a name! has been trialing well coming into the debut run and should run well.

No7 FLYING has been trialing well leading into the fresh run, and gets a good run on the map.

No4 JOY FOR US was quite poor fresh, forgiving of that and going off of the trials which were solid.

R5 – 5.24pm. Tyrrell’s Wines Benchmark 73 Handicap - 1350m.

No1 JEMADAR drops well in grade here and is well poised to win third-up from a spell here. The form around him is good enough.

No2 KENT is another who drops in grade here, but has been going well enough to run well here.

No7 ABERRATION was disappointing last start when a short priced fav, he will want to bounce back here.

No4 BUON NATALE has been going well enough in this grade, in recent times and should run quite well here second-up.

R6 – 5.59pm. IGA Liquor CG&E Maiden Plate - 1350m.

No4 DURIF comes out of a good race on debut and then was spelled. The two trials have been quite good and he gets a good run on the map.

No6 INVENTION has been trialing up well enough coming into the debut run and should run well here.

No9 NERUDA has been going quite well this time in, with two good runs leading in. Third-up he looks set to peak here.

No3 COLTRANE was quite good on debut in what looks to be a good race. He gets a good run on the map from gate 4 and should go close.

R7 – 6.37pm. XXXX Summer Bright Larger Maiden Plate - 1350m.

No9 SEE ME ROCK comes out of a good race on debut where we have seen the form hold up already, the trial since that run was quite good and she looks hard to beat here.

No5 GUANGDONG didn’t get the best of rides on debut, the wide open expanses of Newcastle should suit much better here, and she should improve.

No1 BIRDSONG well what can you say about her, 15 runs for 10 minor placings. I am shocked she is still at the stable. She will need to win sooner or later.

No11 TAVISFACTION has been trialing in good order coming into the second preparation and should be much more mature now. Blinkers on she should be much sharper here.
