Betting tips for every race at Rosehill. Today’s best bet is in race 2

Thu, 25 Jan, 12:00 PM

Rosehill for Saturday racing in Sydney, on the quick back up after racing at Warwick Farm yesterday. Nine races on the card as per usual, with the feature the Carrington Stakes which looks to be a really good race this year. Throughout the day there are a few nice types engaged and this day could well be one to follow later this season. Rail true, track good.

QUADDIES (races 6-7-8-9)

Skinny Play: 3,4,11 -  8  -  7,9,10  -  5,8

Wide Play: 3,4,7,11  -  3,8  -  2,7,9,10  -  2,5,8,12

Next Best Bet: R7 – 8. GEORGE PATTON

Best Roughie: R6 – 4. THE PINNACLE

R1 –12.40pm TAB Plate - 1100m.

No2 OSORNO comes out of the Breeders Plate on debut where he was quite good finding the line. We have seen that the Breeders is a super strong form race as it is every year. He has trialled twice leading into the fresh run here and has done quite a good job in those trials. He is a brilliantly bred son of Exceed and Excel and looks hard to beat here.

No6 OMAR has been trialing quite well coming into the debut run here and does look well set up here. He is drawn to get a good run on the map here and looks to be a colt with some ability and has a good chance.

No3 OUTRAGEOUS comes out of the Breeders like Osorno on debut and was behind him there after getting well back in the run. He comes out of the same trial as Osorno leading into this and went about his work quite well there. He gets a good run on the map and has his chance.

No8 SIZZLING BELLE looks to be a professional type and did the job well at Wagga on debut. She ran quite a good time there too, I am looking past the quality of the field, as she had an abundance of talent on them and should jump and run here.

R2 – 1.20pm. Wilkes Quality - 1100m.

No2 SIEGE OF QUEBEC (BEST BET) should just be winning this fresh from a spell given his quality and this field. He is a $1.2 million colt who came a long way in his first prep and actually started fav against Menari last start. He has had the two trials leading into this fresh run here and shouldn’t be at all worried by the 1100m fresh, as that’s what he went up against Menari last start. He should jump and run them along here and prove too good, and go onto a race like the Randwick Guineas.

No1 SINGLE BULLET loomed up last start, and well got scared of the post there. He will run through the line here to run into the placings again.

No3 KENNEDY has had to deal with two tough runs at his last two starts and has still hit the line, he should do the same here and run into the minor money.

No4 LIGHTZ next best and is in the fight for fourth / fifth in a race which drops away quickly

VALUE RUNNER: 2 – 1 exacta

R3 – 1.55pm. Owners Forum @ Royal Randwick Handicap - 1500m.

No5 EUSEBIO No luck last start at Randwick and should have won simple as that, it was just one of those rides where it happened, best to move on and forget if you’re a punter. Good jockey change here with Angland going on, and he gets a good run on the map from gate 3 and should atone here.

No9 PROMETHEUS has been very good in both runs back this time in. He did his best Winx impersonation last start, bombing the start and getting over the top of them late. He has been very good in both wins this time in. Down to 53kg with Winona on board he has his chance here.

No4 KING DARCI has been going quite well this time in and is back off a freshen up, and looks to be the likely leader here, he has a good record at Rosehill and over the 1500m he should be hard to catch if he gets his own way in front.

No1 SHOW A STAR has quite a good second-up record and was very good when finding the line last start behind Lanciato. The claim for JVO is quite good here as he gets in with just 56kgs. Second up to 1500m here is quite suitable and he should keep his good second up record intact.

R4 – 2.30pm. TAB Highway Handicap - 1100m.

No6 ANOTHER SIN looks hard to beat here dropping well in grade from his last two starts and should be fitter after the first-up run. The form out of both of his last runs, I am just hoping that running in those races hasn’t cooked him as he is stacked with ability. If he can find his debut form where he won in a highway, he wins.

No12 EL MO drops well in weight here after a good run last start where he was a strong winner, and on debut he was quite good behind Cradle Mountain who hasn’t stopped winning since. Good jockey change with Avdulla going on here, and from gate 9 he sits just behind the leader here and should be in the finish.

No2 ORI ON FIRE broke the track record at Tamworth last start when winning by 4 lengths. Shinn jumps on board here from barrier 5 and looks the likely leader, the form out of his last prep is quite strong and he will jump and run them along here and be hard to catch.

No8 SHELLY BEACH ROAD gets back in the run here and will have last shot at them, after coming out of a good highway last start. The trial leading into this has been quite good and she should run well here.

R5 – 3.05pm. Chris Toogood Farwell Handicap - 1300m.

No11 MEROVEE was scratched out of a race last weekend and looks to be much better suited here in the bigger field than the small one last week. Tthought he could still run a good race there, but comes to this to take on the older horses, and I am to think he will be getting back in the run and chiming in late. He has Group 1 talent as his form indicated last time in.

No3 SAMADOUBT is the likely leader here and was run down by Voiler of all horses last start. Back to 1300m looks to be much more suitable here and he should get his way in front and be quite hard to catch.

No9 THAAD found the line well enough first-up and should be much more improved second-up from a spell, in a day which didn’t suit backmarkers. He comes to his home track now and steps up that 100m in distance. Second-up last time in he was a winner over a mile and has his chance.

No4 BRATISLAVA was a touch disappointing last start, and I don’t think he is a horse who should be leading, as his best runs have been when he was able to finish over the top of them. From the gate he gets back and has that last shot at them.

R6 – 3.40pm. #THERACES Handicap - 1350m.

No11 MOSS TRIP was a big winner fresh in fast time at Kembla after sitting well off the speed. She sits a touch closer in the run here from barrier 2. She has put together quite a good record over the short career thus far and looks to have come back a touch better this time in and looks hard to beat again.

No4 THE PINNACLE (BEST ROUGHIE) resumes here after a long break since the Brisbane winter. She really went through her grades well in that prep, and I think it was smart that they missed the Oaks, as I don’t think she is a stayer, she looks to be a miler and 1350m fresh suits.

No3 O’RACHAEL was poor last start and has had a trial since that run, previous to that she was quite good and does bring quite good form to this. She just needs a touch of luck from the barrier (8) to be in the finish here.

No7 GRETNA was ok enough fresh, she has never really lived up to the talent that she has. She has a good enough second-up record and looks to have a chance here.

R7 – 4.20pm. Carrington Stakes - 1400m.

No8 GEORGE PATTON (NEXT BEST BET) resumes here after a long break and has been to Hong Kong since he was bought after his last run in France. He arrived in HK in September 2016 and suffered a few injuries and left HK for Australia in mid-June. Since he has arrived here he has trialled well leading into the fresh run, the stable has some high hopes for him and he looks very hard to beat here on his Aus debut.

No3 ENDLESS DRAMA resumes here and has had surgery to fix his hock since his last start, his form is good and in his debut run last year he ran third to Winx!

No7 LANCIATO was brilliant when resuming at Randwick and finished right over the top of them, this is tougher but he is hard to beat here.

No1 PRIZED ICON resumes off a long break here and is a quality colt. He has had two trials coming into this, and although this is short of his best he has his chance.

R8 – 5pm. ATC Owners Benefit Card Handicap - 1800m.

No7 EMPEROR’S WAY was good when winning last start, he is a horse who is on the way up here who has been in very good form this time in, and looks quite hard to beat again.

No9 SIR BARB has been in races that haven’t suited him this time in, and now gets into a race which suits him here. The 1800m won’t be an issue at all and he has his chance.

No10 ATLANTIC FOX has been finding the line quite well this time in, in all runs and looks set to breakthrough here at his home track. He gets a weight swing on the fav here and looks to be a major player here.

No2 GAMBLESTOWN finally gets away from Randwick where he has a shocking record and to a track where he has had success before. Avdulla goes on here in a big jockey change and looks a chance.

R9 – 5.40pm. Sprint - 1100m.

No5 PEDWAY was a touch disappointing last start when getting run down late, it looked his race to lose and may have been a touch flat after a booming win fresh. Third-up at his home track he looks very hard to beat.

No8 MY MAHER closed off well fresh over the 1000m and should be much better suited up to the 1100m here. Avdulla jumps on board here and will be getting everything out of her when it counts.

No12 ANNA’S JOY will jump and run them along here, and wasn’t too bad fresh in a fast run race. Second-up she should be much improved for that and finds Winona who is a great front running rider.

No2 SATIRICAL MAGIC gets away from Canterbury where he has won his past three runs in good fashion. He gets a great run on the map for Shinn here and has his chance.
