Next Best Bet: R5 – 12. MAHALANGUR

Best Roughie: R6 – 9. WAKING MOMENT

R1 – 1.00pm TAB.com.au Plate - 1200m.

No4 REFLECTIVITY (BEST BET) looks the one here, he comes through some very good form races in his short career thus far. A brilliantly bred son of All Too Hard, it must have been a hard decision to geld him coming into this prep, but we may well see the best of him now. The trial coming into the fresh run here has been quite good and with the blinkers on fresh, they are showing some intent that he is tuned up for a fresh win.

No9 EXCELLENT DESIGN gets a good jockey change here with Avdulla going on for Penza, he was quite good on debut and should take improvement for that run.

No3 KOOKABAA has been good in all runs and is a horse who I have some time for, he was only three lengths off Unforgotten last start and that’s good enough here.

No1 BALEARIC is starting to wear the patience thin for punters with some short SPs without winning, Bowman goes on and we have to respect that.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 KOOKABAA

R2 – 1.35pm. Book ATC Summer Hospitality Today Handicap - 1600m

No2 ROCKIN’ RUGA was tough as you would expect when leading and kicking all the way down the straight when winning last start to break the maiden. Step up to the mile shouldn’t be an issue at all, as he will get his own way in front and will be hard to beat.

No1 AMANITO was good when finishing over the top of them last start and it was good to see him do that after a flat run the previous start, which had come off a monster debut where he finished right over the top of them. He sits just off the speed here and has last shot.

No3 DELADIES BOY beat home Amanatio last start behind Prometheus and gets a great run on the map for Shinn here. He is now third-up and stays at the mile. He should be fully fit and has a good chance here off his last-start run.

No4 JOLLY HONOUR gets Bowman here and has been ok enough in his last two starts, I am forgiving of that debut run as since then he has been quite good, next best here.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 DELADIES BOY

R3 – 2.10pm. TAB Handicap - 1100m

No2 MISSILE CODA resumes here and has been trialing well coming into the fresh run, she is quite a funny mare who at her best can blow fields like this away, but at her worst offers nothing and runs quite poorly. The trials show that she has come back quite well and I think she can dominate them here.

No1 LAKE LUGARNO was good when getting the job done for us last start at Canterbury, with Missile Coda burning along in front she should sit just in behind her here. She is an honest country mare who gives her all each and every start and must be respected.

No4 BLOWING KISSES gets the blinkers on here in an effort to sharpen her up. She hasn’t been finishing off as she can as of late. She gets a soft run behind the speed here with the claim for McDougall, and at her best she can finish off.

No3 NONPAREIL is another who gets the blinkers on for the first time here, after being just ok in both runs this time in. She has never really lived up to the hype that we thought she may have and while she is one for exotics, winning is tough to see.

VALUE RUNNER: No4 BLOWING KISSES

R4 – 2.45pm. #THERACES Handicap - 1000m.

No9 BROOK MAGIC was a winner first-up last time in at Kembla in pretty good time, and then went on to go quite well through her grades and last start in the Quezette she was solid enough when leading up Crown Witness and Catchy. The trials coming in have been quite good and she should run well fresh and is good over 1000m.

No4 ROSE OF MAN was a good winner last start at Randwick when she was really well backed to win that race. She sits just behind the speed here and gets a good claim for JVO down to 55kgs. She is a winner at the course and distance before and should be respected.

No6 MY MAHER drops well in grade here and was ok enough fresh when closing off behind Burradoo. She now comes to her home track and has the benefit of race fitness which is invaluable and she should run quite well.

No10 LIMBO SOUL was fantastic in the debut preparation, big win on debut when really well backed to win the maiden. Then in the Magic Night she wasn’t too bad when behind Tulip and Alizee, that’s quite good form for this. She is dual-entered so not sure where she goes.

VALUE RUNNER: No6 MY MAHER

R5 – 3.20pm. TAB Rewards Handicap - 1200m.

No12 MAHALANGUR (NEXT BEST BET) comes out of a really good form race last time in, in the Ming Dynasty which he tackled at his second start. That had come after a booming win, and he may have had enough after that as he took on the older horses and really didn’t “ping” there. He resumes here over 1200m and has trialled well leading in, he may be on his way to a race like Randwick Guineas and he can get his prep off to a flyer here.

No7 ALL IN THE REFLEXS was unlucky last start and should have won simple as that, big jockey change here with Hyeronimus going on and she looks really hard to beat here.

No8 BOLD CHANCE has built an enviable record over his short career thus far with three wins coming from five starts. He may well be apart of Lees provincial championships team and he will be hitting the line hard here.

No3 HAND FROM ABOVE resumes here for the new stable and has had a good trial coming into this. Sometimes a change of scenery sparks these older horses up.

VALUE RUNNER: No8 BOLD CHANCE

R6 – 4.00pm Australia Day Cup - 2400m.

No7 CORDERO has been nothing short of fantastic this time in winning his last three in brilliant fashion, he keeps on stepping up and getting the job done. Hard to knock against a field of this order, he gets a soft run on the map and should be too good again.

No9 WAKING MOMENT (BEST ROUGHIE) has been going ok enough this time in and closed off quite well last start. I am happy to follow that form with Cordero who I do have on top here, horses once they have had the 2400m run always run well again.

No4 VASSAL changed up his pattern last start when he ran well two starts in a row. He has had a trial since then and did what he needed to do, I am happy to stick with him while he is in form, when some of these aren’t.

No2 MIGHTY LUCKY is as consistent as can be and you would love to own him. He is yet to have a run over 2400m in his career, but the way he has been running through the line this time in suggests that he will run the distance and I don’t want to be against him.

VALUE RUNNER: No9 WAKING MOMENT

R7 – 4.40pm. 2018 ATC Membership Handicap - 2200m.

No4 PERIBSEN should only be improved for the second up run where he went from 1600m – 2400m which is a really big jump, yes it was a weak race but he still did it quite tough and won well. He should be much improved for that fitness wise and looks a chance.

No3 BEIJING BOARD got the job done in good order last start and now comes back to his home track and steps up in distance here which looks to be much more suitable given the way he ran though the line there. He finds Bowman here and has to be a chance.

No7 HURRICANE HARBOUR looks to have been wanting to get out in distance this time in and finally gets to 2200m here after two good runs over 1900m lately. Mallyon on stayers is quite good as she can rate them quite well, don’t let him slip under your guard.

No10 BLANCO CARA comes back from Saturday grade to this, and looks to be much more suitable. She has had that run over the 2400m run and now comes back to 2200m which shouldn’t be an issue. I give her a chance here.

VALUE RUNNER: No7 HURRICANE HARBOUR

R8 – 5.20pm. Australian Turf Club Handicap - 1400m.

No10 ONSLAUGHT just ran out of fitness fresh when going down in a tight finish. He should be much improved for that, and now out to 1400m second-up he is quite well suited here. He gets a good run on the map here from barrier 4 for Shinn and looks quite hard to beat.

No11 TAMARACK looks to draw horribly out in gate 17, but from the chute start here at the Farm, it isn’t too bad of a draw as its one long run to the turn. He was good first-up and may well have been flat second up. Third-up at home he looks set to peak here.

No8 KOOL VINNIE won that race against Onslaught last start and was quite good in doing so, he had the benefit of race fitness there which now goes against him here, but it is hard to knock that winning form and he gets the services of Bowman from gate 14, so that makes it tougher.

No3 MO THE GREAT has won the last two in very good order and the time is right to come to town now after those two wins, he does find a tough race here which is why I don’t have him higher up in the tips. But the way he has been placed like Waugh, he has to be given another chance here.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 MO THE GREAT
