Best Roughie: R6 – 5. HUSSON BOOTS
R1 - 12.55pm. Carlton Draught Class 1 Handicap - 1000m.
No3 THE REAL BOSS (NEXT BEST BET) At only race start was a most impressive winner at Toowoomba. This is a bit harder but reportedly is very smart and should win this.
No1 DELAWAR Had solid New South Wales provincial form before coming north and has been placed only two starts this area at the Sunshine Coast. Chance this small field.
No2 ALL PLUCK Doomben winner in July and placed a couple of times in similar races to this before a spell. Has had two trials for comeback winning one and finishing third in the other.
No6 PRINCESS SNOWY Was never far away in five starts before a spell and ran a good second in a recent trial to get ready for her return here. She has won first-up.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 PRINCESS SNOWY
R2 - 1.34pm. THE QLD TIMES Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 3 Handicap - 1200m.
No3 LET'S PARTY MARTY (BEST BET) Very strong winner in top three-year-old grade at first start and then beaten at next when odds on. Has since won a trial and should be too good for this field.
No4 THE PERPETRATOR Resuming here but has been placed in good company in previous campaigns and is a first-up winner.
No1 SWEET SHAMROCK Raced very well in restricted class in the winter and has had two trials winning one for comeback here. One of the top chances.
No5 PINCH MOUNTAIN Recent form has been ordinary but in slightly tougher company. He did beat a hot field in a trial last month and on that is a chance here.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 PINCH MOUNTAIN
R3 - 2.07pm. RAY WHITE IPSWICH Maiden Handicap - 1100m.
No10 EXCRUCIATE Has had a few chances but a nice run last start when fourth in a similar race to this at Doomben. Ready to win now.
No5 STRYKE OF DELIGHT Form in previous campaign was ordinary buy trialled well twice before first-up second behind a smart horse at this track. Good each-way hope.
No1 DOOM Ran three seconds before last-start fourth at Doomben when appeared to have every chance. Starting to get costly but give one more chance.
No3 RED MAHOGANY Trialled very well before last start when lost his jockey after going 300m. Has been given time to get over that and chance here.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 STRYKE OF DELIGHT
R4 - 2.45pm. SIRROMET QTIS 3-Y-O Colts & Geldings Maiden Handicap - 1100m.
No7 CURRUMBIN CRAFT Race form has been ordinary to say the least. But has had two recent trials and won both impressively. Obviously on the up now.
No5 SAN MARCO Had some handy form in Sydney before coming north. Has had two trials of late and was solid both times winning one. Each-way here.
No4 REBEL SAGA First starter who has had four trials. Latest was an impressive win at Deagon and looks ready to race well now.
No2 GOLD MONARCH Ran a nice race when third at only start in Toowoomba. This is harder but will be improved by race experience.
VALUE RUNNER: No2 GOLD MONARCH
R5 - 3.25pm. CARLTON MID Maiden Plate - 1350m.
No1 THE DANGER Nearly fell when caught in bad interference when fourth at the Sunshine Cost and then no luck again when third this track last start and hard to beat here.
No10 JOEL Has trialled very well but having no luck in his race starts. Has finally drawn a good barrier and has a top jockey. Ticks plenty of boxes here.
No2 ZOFF ‘N’ OFF Was racing in solid fashion before last start when struck trouble and well beaten at the Sunshine Coast. Can do better and a value hope.
No4 DELAGO EDITION First starter who has had four trials and solid in most recent. From a stable noted for first-up winners and this isn't hard.
VALUE RUNNER: No10 JOEL
R6 - 4.05pm. Schweppes Fillies and Mares Class 3 Handicap - 1200m.
No1 LOOSE GOOSE Has been leading in her races and kicking on strongly. Led all the way to win at Murwillumbah last start and this track should suit.
No5 HUSSON BOOTS (BEST ROUGHIE) Beaten out of sight in the Magic Millions Country Cup last time. But this is a lot easier and was racing solidly before that. Looks good value here.
No2 WITNESS Has been most consistent of late with two wins and a second past three starts. Last-start winner at the Sunshine Coast and this isn't much harder.
No4 WILD AVA Was racing well before she got too far back at Doomben last start and was well beaten. She will need a lot of early pace here and she should get it.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 HUSSON BOOTS
R7 - 4.45pm. CITY OF IPSWICH Class 5 Handicap - 1350m.
No3 RUNWAY READY Winner of his past starts including a Highway race in Sydney where he beat a handy field. Rarely runs a bad race and this isn't overly tough. Looks very hard to beat.
No1 SKILLFUL Better known as a 1600m horse but has plenty of ability and had a trial to get ready for first up run at 1350m. Should get a nice run from the inside barrier.
No6 SCOUTABOUT Hasn't run since October and has better form at 1600m plus. But has a good record this track, has trialled twice for this and goes okay fresh.
No4 KING RED Recent form is ordinary but has won this track beating some smart horses. Give one more chance this circuit.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 KING RED
R8 - 5.20pm. SKY RACING Class 2 Plate - 1666m.
No9 MIABLA Two runs from a spell have been solid and gets out to a suitable distance here with a light weight. Should be ready to win now.
No5 SHARP SPEEDO Has won only twice but been second eight times including past two starts. Just needs the race to be run at the right pace for him to be in the finish.
No10 SWEET ADALINE Was slightly disappointing last start after having the run of the race and ended up fifth at the Gold Coast over 1400m. Another out to a more suitable distance and has each-way hopes here.
No1 MR DUMONT Took a while to break his maiden but did it in style last start at Doomben. This isn't much harder and should race on the pace.
VALUE RUNNER: No1 MR DUMONT
