Betting tips for every race at Muswellbrook. Today’s best bet

Wed, 31 Jan, 12:00 AM

Muswellbrook for Thursday racing here in the New South Wales Country region. A nice enough card with eight races set for us. The big long straight here gives all horses a chance. We will be on a good surface come race time and the rail is +6m from 1280m - 300m cutaway applies.

QUADDIES (races 5-6-7-8)

Skinny Play:  1,4  -  1,3,5  -  1,3,5  -  1

Wide Play:  1,2,3,4  -  1,3,5,6  -  1,3,5,9  -  1,2,5

Next Best Bet: R3 – 9. ROAD TO HEAVEN

Best Roughie: R7 – 3. GLOBAL ROCKET

R1 – 1.15pm. Bengalla Mining Company Benchmark 58 Handicap - 2300m.

No2 NIGHTSPUN was 1/49 and is now 4/52. Low flying winning his last three, I see no reason not to tip him again while he is winning.

No1 LUCKY ELIXIR was ok enough last start in a better race than this, he gets a good run of it from gate 3.

No4 SOUTHERN DELIGHT has a good record at this track, and has been ok enough as of late for this.

No3 HAND IT IN steps up sharply in distance here and looks to be next best.

R2 – 1.50pm. Great Northern Super Crisp Larger Maiden Handicap - 1000m.

No2 FALERINA (BEST BET) was very good on debut over this course and distance when charging home and just missing, she should be much better for the experience and should be too strong for them here.

No1 BANGKOK brings good enough form to this, he got better and better with each run last time in, 1000m maybe too short.

No5 LATIN BELLE has been trialing up in good order coming into the debut run and should be respected.

No11 SLIMLINE was ok enough on debut, and comes back to the home track for start two and should run well.

R3 – 2.25pm. C,G&E Maiden Plate - 1280m.

No9 ROAD TO HEAVEN (NEXT BEST BET) is a well-bred commodity who has been trialing well leading into the debut run here, his mother was a star on the track (Lights Of Heaven) and he will be better over further but the 1280m looks to be an ideal starting point here.

No1 CHEKKAPEN was solid enough fresh for the new stable and should run well.

No4 SHADOW FLIGHT has ok enough form and gets a good run on the map from gate 1.

No5 VOYAGES on debut should run well, in a race which drops away quickly.

R4 – 3.05pm. Silks Function Centre F&M Maiden Plate - 1280m.

No10 SEPOISED resumes here and was a good runner on debut, before striking issues in the next two runs. The trial was good.

No11 VIHARI has been trialing up in good order coming into the debut run and is well bred.

No4 CRISTAL LULU gets G Ryan here and was good enough last start.

No2 ARTISTIC QUEEN just got way too far back on debut at Port Macquarie, good jockey change here with Thompson going on suits.

R5 – 3.40pm. Two Rivers Wine Class 1 Handicap - 1280m.

No4 THORNBRO was good enough last start and found the line well enough to run well here.

No1 FORSOX has G Ryan here and has been going quite well and brings a solid enough SP profile to this race.

No3 WINNER’S LANE should be much fitter second-up from a spell and was good fresh.

No2 OUR CHAD has been in solid enough form this time in, but drops back in distance which is a worry.

R6 – 4.15pm. BHP Mt Arthur Coal Class 3 Handicap - 1000m.

No3 OUR SEBRING comes out of a good race last start where he ran really good time. RT and Northam are a good team together, respect them.

No1 COCKLES drops well in grade here and I would just forget that run. The previous form is quite good.

No5 INVINCIBLE BOT resumes with no trial, fresh over 1000m after a good debut prep he looks hard to beat here.

No6 YOURS MINE OURS has been going ok enough as of late and gets a good run on the map here.

R7 – 4.50pm. A Corp Computers Benchmark 64 Handicap - 1450m.

No3 GLOBAL ROCKET (BEST ROUGHIE) should appreciate the step up in distance here and just didn’t have the luck when it mattered last start.

No1 BUON NATALE comes back in grade here and should be much better suited in this grade.

No5 IT’S RELATIVE gets the blinkers on for the first time here and brings good form to this.

No9 SISTER JOY won well enough last start, the record at the track is quite poor, but the win last start was good.

R8 – 5.30pm. Class 1 & Maiden Plate - 1750m.

No1 DIZZY SUCCESS looks quite hard to beat here, it has been a while since he won. But the recent form should be too good.

No2 PRESSING MATTERS should be much more improved for the first-up run for the new stable and the distance suits.

No5 BELLABROOK ran right through the line last start in good fashion and is a chance here.

No4 SOOLAIMON has been in ok enough form as of late, back in distance shouldn’t be too much of an issue here.
