The State of South Australia has been ablaze over recent weeks with temperatures soaring into the high 30’s and low 40’s. Last Saturday saw the club head into the twilight hours to try to escape the oppressive heat of the day.

Racing returns to its normal times on a Saturday this week with the first race to kick off at 12.46pm.

It will be warm with a top forecast of 32C after an overnight low of 18C, but mild compared to recent temperatures. The false rail will be shifted from the true Position to nine metres from the 1200m to the winning post and will be at six metres for the remainder. The track is expected to be a Good 4.

Leading Adelaide trainer Tony McEvoy and regular Victorian raider Darren Weir hold strong hands on the eight-race card. Punters can get their bank in the opening race by backing the unbeaten Victorian contender Belfast in the James Boag's Premium Handicap (1600m). He is at $2 in early betting and should take a power of beating.
