Ipswich (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Ipswich. Today’s best bet is in race 8.
Another Ipswich Wednesday meeting with big fields. The track has been criticised for being too hard but there has been plenty of rain and it should be softer. There looks to be a lot of value in most races.

Best Roughie: R6 – 9. HONEY HOLT
R1 - 1.55pm. Carlton Draught Mares Maiden Plate 1200m.
No3 FATZ Has been placed four of past five starts in this type of race. No star but consistent and gets his chance to win here.
No7 OUR GRACIOUS DANE Has shown some handy form and good third at the Sunshine Coast last start. This isn't strong and has an each-way hope.
No9 SPRING GLORY Had some fair Victorian form before disappointing first-up effort when well beaten in a Doomben maiden. This is far easier.
No11 YAEL First starter who is from a noted fresh horse stable. This is weak and would not have to be a star to figure.
VALUE RUNNER: No9 SPRING GLORY
R2- 2.34pm. CHANNEL 7 Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Plate - 1200m.
No8 ULTIMATE REALITY Had good form last campaign including a place this track. Has had two trials for come back here from a good barrier and we liked the last one which is a good guide to this.
No1 BETAJET Placed four of past five starts including a third in a far harder Doomben maiden last start. One of the main hopes.
No9 CAPTAIN CALIFORNIA First starter who has had four trials winning his latest in impressive fashion. Looks a strong hope here.
No11 GANASSI Placed past two starts at Ballina and this isn't all that much harder. Value hope.
VALUE RUNNER: No11 GANASSI
R3 - 3.07pm. THE QLD TIMES QTIS Three-Years-Old Fillies Maiden Plate - 1100m.
No13 ALANA'S PARTY Failed badly at first start but has had two trials since and looks to have some ability. Well drawn and this type of race suits at good odds.
No6 LULU EXPRESS Ran last at only start in a very strong race at Doomben. Has had two trials for comeback here and looked handy in both.
No5 LUCKY DEALEN At first race start didn't have much luck when third at the Gold Coast. This is harder but rates an each-way thought.
No4 LINE UP Only start was third at Toowoomba and should be better for that run.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 LUCKY DEALEN
R4 - 3.45pm. RAY WHITE IPSWICH Class 3 Plate - 2150m.
No2 OCCHILUPO Promising horse who settled well and went on to score easily Toowoomba at his last start. Shows a lot of promise.
No9 MONACO SNOB (NEXT BEST BET) Showed he was getting back to his best when third over 1800m last start at Caloundra. Ready to win now.
No3 FLYNN EFFECT Has been racing very well with two wins and a third in similar company to this past three starts. This track and distance suits.
No5 HIGH WIND Very well bred horse who scored his second win at Doomben last start. Bred to win the Melbourne Cup and this isn't very hard.
VALUE RUNNER: No9 MONACO SNOB
R5 - 4.25pm. SIRROMET Class 1 Handicap - 1350m.
No5 SPLITTER Never got clear in the Magic Millions maiden and then bolted in with a maiden this track last start. Scratched Saturday to start here.
No3 LOVE AND ROCK IT Had no luck in the Magic Millions maiden and then won despite severe interference at 250m at Doomben last start. Barrier only worry here.
No9 GO DAISY Not a bad run first-up when fourth at the Gold Coast. Fitter now and has run some good races against handy horses in previous campaigns.
No1 REAL CLASSIC Has never lived up to his early potential but it was a handy third this track last start and overdue for a win.
VALUE RUNNER: No1 REAL CLASSIC
R6 - 5.05pm. CARLTON MID Class 5 Handicap - 1350m.
No4 SAVWELL Was a late scratching at the Sunshine Coast last time because of heat problems. But previous form impressive with two powerful wins and this should suit.
No9 HONEY HOLT (BEST ROUGHIE) Has been looking for a soft track and should get one here. Finished close up past two starts and should have won at Doomben two runs back. Ready to win now.
No5 GREGORY Racing very well and good winner two runs back at Doomben and then no luck last start second that track. Each-way again.
No1 RECKLESS ABANDON It is hard to follow him as he can put in a big run every now and again when least expected. Didn't beat a runner home last time but can improve.
VALUE RUNNER: No9 HONEY HOLT
R7 - 5.40pm. Schweppes Class 2 Handicap - 1200m.
No1 PREFERITO Has won his past two starts in most impressive style. The big worry is the barrier from this start but he is more than handy.
No4 LIFESAVER He is promising but has an awful barrier here. Still on best form and fresh will be hard to beat. Has had a trial to get ready for this.
No11 SCORCHA Yet another one of the chances here who is poorly drawn. Good trial win was followed by unlucky first-up fourth at the Gold Coast.
No9 NEVER SO SIRIUS Honest enough and resuming here after a fair trial at the Gold Coast. Not the worst here.
VALUE RUNNER: No4 LIFESAVER
R8 - 6.20pm. City of Ipswich Open Handicap - 1666m.
No2 TORGERSEN (BEST BET) Down sharply in class here and should have finished much closer when fifth in a $100,000 race at the Sunshine Coast last start. Looks the winner.
No8 STEAMIN Form has been solid without being flash. But this track and distance suits at the weights. Each-way here.
No1 SOMEDAY Won the Listed Bernborough Handicap this distance two starts back and never in it at the Sunshine Coast last time. This is far easier than last time.
No4 TIME TO TORQUE Tough as old boots and finished hard for second this track last start. Always a hope and especially if the track is wet.
VALUE RUNNER: No8 STEAMIN
R9 - 6.55pm. Sky Racing Benchmark 65 Handicap - 1666m.
No8 MR ATTITUDE Placed all three runs since spell. Still down in the weights and this distance should suit. Looks hard to beat.
No10 DAUPHIN DE FRANCE Good winner at Doomben first start this area and then no luck when fourth at the Sunshine Coast on an unsuitable track.
No13 ARAZONA Sunshine Coast winner two starts back and then led to the shadows of the post when second at Doomben behind a horse who has since won again.
No2 BOBBY BE GOOD Trialled well before last-start win this track. Probably best in the wet but good all tracks.
VALUE RUNNER: No13 ARAZONA
