Warwick Farm for our Wednesday racing here in Sydney on the quick back up after a brilliant days racing on Saturday. The rail goes out the 3m here, but may well still not be out far enough for the leaders given how far off the fence they got on Saturday. Track good.
QUADDIES (races 5-6-7-8)
Skinny Play: 1,2 - 2,5 - 2,3 - 1,10
Wide Play: 1,2,4 - 2,5,6 - 2,3,4,7 - 1,7,8,10
BEST BET: R3 – 1. SHEIKHA
Next Best Bet: R6 – 2. ONCE MORE A LADY
Best Roughie: R5 – 1. SIR BARB
No9 COUVRE LIT has been trialing up in good order coming into the debut run here. 1200m at home shouldn’t be a worry fresh.
No2 BLACK HAZE found the line well enough on debut and will appreciate 1200m much more at the second start.
No3 DIO D’ORO was serviceable last start when way up in grade behind Performer, he is much better suited at maiden level.
No7 STEALTH SNIPER came back with a very good trial, after trialing well enough at the official trials in September and should run well on debut.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 DIO D’ORO
No2 TOUCH OF MINK resumes here and was good last prep without winning, the trials have been quite good.
No1 PRIMITIVO is the best horse in this race by a long way, but wants further than 1200m. His class could get him home.
No5 KAFFKA was good enough fresh and comes out of a good form race on debut and should run well at home.
No4 DECROUX looks the likely leader in the small field here and comes out of a good enough race on debut.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 KAFFKA
No1 SHEIKHA (BEST BET) resumed very well at Rosehill in a much stronger race than this and looked to be quite big in condition and should improve for that run, very well placed here by Gai. She should sit behind the speed and be too strong.
No3 DEITY was very good when winning in slick time last start, step up in grade but Godolphin is flying.
No2 PANDEMONIUM should run well enough fresh here, she may need further but has trialled well.
No5 TARABAI won well enough on debut and this looks to be a logical next step.
VALUE RUNNER: No5 TARABAI
No6 CITY OF KIRKWALL was lifted over the line last start by King Callow, the horse is flying and this isn’t the best race.
No1 HURRICANE HARBOUR backs up quickly from Friday night and was good enough, 2200m suits.
No2 REX BELL should appreciate the step up in distance here and was good enough last start.
No8 VARUSKA was ok enough last week at Randwick and finds another weak race here.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 CITY OF KIRKWALL
No1 SIR BARB (BEST ROUGHIE) gets a quiet run behind the speed here and should appreciate coming back in grade.
No2 AQUATIC won a race finally, he won well and backs up quickly and should run well again.
No4 ATLANTIC FOX comes out of the Sir Barb race last start and should also appreciate the drop in grade.
No3 ELATUS hit the line powerfully last start, he may want further now though.
VALUE RUNNER: No1 SIR BARB
No2 ONCE MORE A LADY (NEXT BEST BET) resumed a big winner over the course and distance and was well backed to do so there. She actually comes back in grade here and has been brilliantly placed by Pride and should be winning.
No5 ARTEMIS ROSE resumes here and comes out of some solid enough form to run well.
No6 SEXY EYES didn’t have the best of luck in the first preparation and resumes here after a good trial.
No1 ALLEGHENY comes out of a very good form race last start behind Star Of Monsoon, and had been in good form prior to that.
VALUE RUNNER: No6 SEXY EYES
No3 RAIDEN has been gelded coming into this, and we may well see the best of him now. The trial was very good coming in.
No2 MISS LIFFEY will jump and run them along here, she has been in very good form this time in.
No4 NOSEY won four on end at the end of the last preparation and finds a winnable midweek race here fresh.
No7 SKY MISSION gets into this with no weight and comes out of the same race as Miss Liffey last start.
VALUE RUNNER: No7 SKY MISSION
No4 SHOW A STAR was very good when winning last start and kept up that brilliant second-up record intact, I think that he still had more to come from that and can continue to improve into the prep at his home track and should run well again.
No2 TESTASHADOW should appreciate coming back in distance here, as he didn’t run out the 2200m last start. He has had a trial since that run and looks to be going quite well, and always sneaks under the radar of the punters.
No1 SUPPLY AND DEMAND is going ok enough as of late and finds another race in which he can run well, he has had a long prep, but Gai’s horses seem to thrive on racing. If he gets his own way in front he will be hard to beat here.
No8 NAT KING KU was a strong winner upon resumption here on Australia Day, and looks to be going as well as ever since joining the Coyle yard. He has improved into a Saturday winner which many thought he couldn’t reach. Second-up he should go well.
VALUE RUNNER: No8 NAT KING KU
