Another Sunshine Coast night meeting with the usual average fields and some short priced runners. There have been a lot of thunderstorms and rain but this is a good drying track. As always horses getting to the crown in the straight have a great chance.
QUADDIES (races 4-5- 6-7)
Skinny Play: 1/1,5/1,8/3,5,9
Wide Play: 1,2,5,8/1,2,5,8/1,2,6,8/1,3,5,6,9
BEST BET: R4 – 1. DOOM
Next Best Bet: R2 – 2. LE DRAMA
Best Roughie: R6 – 8. SHE GOES POP
No2 TANGO YANKEE Resuming here but trialled strongly when second behind a smart horse at Doomben recently. Has raced in much better company than this and has good first-up form and this isn't tough.
No3 BEL CLASSICO
No1 MISS BENETEAU
VALUE RUNNER: No1 MISS BENETEAU
No2 LE DRAMA (NEXT BEST BET) Has run second at his past two starts at Doomben and this track in far stronger company. Ideally suited at 1400m and has far better form than most of these.
No1 HIGH FIVER
No5 NO HAT NO PLAY
VALUE RUNNER: No1 HIGH FIVER
No2 JOEL Rarely does a horse have so much bad luck in so many races. Little luck again when third at Ipswich last start. Drawn to get the run of the race here and very hard to beat.
No4 COUNTRY LUCK
VALUE RUNNER: No9 NAKED
No1 DOOM (BEST BET) Has not run one bad race in all six starts which includes four seconds. Has drawn barrier one here and has the pace to make the most of it. This isn't very strong and surely today she will win!
No8 THIS IS CLASS
VALUE RUNNER: No8 THIS IS CLASS
No1 REBEL SAGA Had four trials before getting to the races where he won with authority at Ipswich. Hard to take the step up from maiden to Class 1 after just one race. But he looks capable of doing it.
No8 CLAIRVUE DIAMOND
No2 CAESAR'S SECRET
VALUE RUNNER: No2 CAESAR'S SECRET
No2 BALBOA ROCKS Has had a few problems but back near his best and strolled home for easy win this track last start. No reason he won't run a strong 1800m and if it rains he grows about six lengths in ability. But chance all conditions.
No8 SHE GOES POP (BESTROUGHIE)
No1 FAST ARROW
VALUE RUNNER: No8 SHE GOES POP
No3 DEEP IMAGE Hasn't lived up to the early predictions about him but fourth at two most recent runs behind smart horses when had no luck. Poorly drawn again but that doesn't matter so much this track. Hard to beat.
No9 RANCHO MONTOYA
No6 PINCH MOUNTAIN
VALUE RUNNER: No1 LOCUS
