Gold Coast (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Gold Coast. Today’s best bet is in race 1.

Mon, 19 Feb, 10:52 AM

Another Gold Coast Wednesday meeting with mixed fields but some value in most of them. The track played truly last Saturday and should do so again. Of course as always watch out for thunderstorms which can turn a track from good to heavy in a matter of an hour.

QUADDIES (races 5-6-7-8)

Skinny Play:  2,3/2,3/5,7/2,12

Wide Play:  2,3,6,10/2,3,4,8/5,7,8,10/2,3,9,12

Next Best Bet: R3 – 4. FISH 'N' SNITZ

Best Roughie: R2 – 8. ZEPHETTO

R1 - 12.55pm. UBET. DOWNLOAD THE APP Maiden Handicap - 900m.

No4 SQUALL (BEST BET) Funny race to make a special in but it is so weak Squall should win by default. No luck when second at Murwillumah at only start and has won a trial since.

No1 GRAND ASSET First starter who was well beaten at his only trial. But is well bred and might be an improver.

No5 MISS DEFIANCE Has run fourth a couple times and has shown some pace. Resuming here but has won a trial in the lead up.

No3 VOLIVOLI Didn't run a bad race when second at Warwick two starts back. This is a very weak maiden.

R2 - 1.34pm. UBET + REWARDS QTIS Two-Years-Old Colts & Geldings Maiden Plate - 900m.

No1 BOOMSARA First starter who trialled well at only public hit out. Has been scratched twice recently to run here.

No8 ZEPHETTO (BEST ROUGHIE) First starter who is well bred and finished second to stablemate Only Wanna Sing, who won on Saturday, in a trial. A case to say could have finished closer in the trial.

No4 GEMELLI Another first starter who was handy trial winner this track looks to have claims here.

No5 HOT GAMBLER Has had three trials and been solid in them all including a win. Trained this track which is a help.

R3 - 2.07pm. UBET BETSHARE QTIS Two-Years-Old Fillies Maiden Plate - 900m.

No4 FISH ‘N’ SNITZ (NEXT BEST BET) Resuming and has been unplaced in all three runs to date but in much better company than this. There is a case to say she could have won all three. Looks the one to beat.

No5 FOXY BELLA Struck trouble and failed only race start but has won two trials and deserves another chance.

No2 COSSIE Third this track at first start and loomed to win at Doomben last start but hit a wet patch and ran fifth. Barrier no help here.

No8 MISHANI PALOMA Missed the start last time but hit the line very strongly when fifth at the Sunshine Coast. Respect here.

R4 - 2.45pm. UBET MULTI BUILDER Maiden Plate - 1800m.

No11 PABULUM Was $101.00 when second at the Sunshine Coast last start at 1600m. But winner a future stakes horse so it was a very good run. Distance here suits.

No6 FULL DIAMOND Has been about the place of late in this class and this isn't strong so has some claims. The distance should suit.

No10 JET TRAIN Placed at 1600m two runs back and then got into the race when mid field at the Sunshine Coast last time. Each-way here.

No1 ESCAPADO Has been placed six of 18 starts and has shown form in this type of race. Has the leading Gold Coast jockey so some claims here.

R5 - 3.25pm. UBET MULTI BUILDER Maiden Plate - 1800m.

No3 DUKE OF CHRISTOPHE Best form is probably at Ipswich and Doomben. But he will find this a lot easier than last-start failure at Doomben and deserves to be among the best chances.

No6 ROBBERS COBBER Has always shown potential but has failed a few times recently. Has a very good record this track and distance. Should improve now.

No2 SMOOTH CONSUL Good third this track and distance last time in heavy going. Better suited on a dry track.

No10 LUPO NERO Loomed to win at the Sunshine Coast over 1800m but got bogged down last start. Drier track here will suit.

R6 - 4.05pm. UBET Class1 Handicap - 1300m.

No4 THE SOCIALIST Placed three times before last-start win at the Sunshine Coast when very strong to the line. Looks the one to beat again.

No2 EVERY SINGLE ONE Rarely runs a bad race but won only once from 11 starts. Back on home track here so each-way claims.

No3 IGGY THE MOOCHER His three starts have been in the NSW country and the northern rivers where he has won once and been placed twice. Barrier no help but suited here.

No8 ENTERPRISE MISS Strong maiden winner at Ipswich two starts back and then struck trouble when well beaten last time at that track. Give another chance.

R7 - 4.40pm. BACKING RACING ON THE GOLD COAST. UBET BenchMark 80 Handicap - 1200m.

No5 ZENDAYE Can mix his form but on his day would win this. Placed past two starts at Doomben and Ipswich and ready to win again.

No7 LUCKY SHOW GIRL Has had five goes this track and distance for three wins and two close seconds. Forget last start Doomben failure and go on Gold Coast form.

No10 NILETTE Rarely does a horse race with so little luck. But never far away and third in a far stronger race at the Sunshine Coast last start.

No8 REAL EGO Handy fourth at the Sunshine Coast last start in a similar race to this gives him an each-way hope.

R8 - 5.20pm. JEWEL OF THE COAST 17TH MARCH Class 3 Handicap - 1400m.

No3 PREFERITO Would have made him a special but for the barrier. Strong wins at past two starts shows he is a horse of the future.

No2 TIVOLI STREET Sydney form was good before Ipswich win last start. This suits again.

No9 SHE'S A YOUEFFOH Likes this track and won here first-up in strong company. Looks hard to beat again.

No12 SUILVEN Has been a brilliant winner at his past two starts this track. Will be among the chances again here and should race on the pace.
