The two finals of the Summer Sprint and Stayers series are the highlights of tonight’s eight-race card at Moonee Valley.

Five-year-old mare Diamond Grace has been in sensational form with three wins and two placings from her past five starts in the Stayers Final (Race 6).

She brilliantly won a heat by 1.25 lens of the series over 2500m at her last start on February 9.

Budding apprentice Stephanie Thornton again rides and her three kilo claim is again used to advantage dropping her weight to a mere 54kg on a 55kg limit.

Tribal Wisdom looks to be a strong chance fresh in the Sprint Final (Race 7).

The rail will be shifted from the True to two metres this week. The track is rated as a Good 4 (Wednesday) and should remain so with clear weather forecast.

No10 MAWZOONA won two races impressively at Mornington and Kilmore and was resuming from a six-week break when finishing a good fifth over 1200m here on February 16. She was backed from $9 into $7.50. Good chance.

No3 RUNAWAY is coming out of Sydney Group company after being given a 24-week spell. From the stable of Waterhouse and Bott and could gain nothing from eighth in 1050m trial at Randwick on January 12. Not in Melbourne to play marbles.

No6 BRANKSOME CHIMES has been ultra consistent and with Brad Rawiller to ride can go one better than last time when finishing second over 1000m here on February 9. He had won his prior start in a maiden well at Ballarat. Good showing.

No4 BADUZZI was resuming from a four-week break when running a good third over 1200m here on February 16. She gets the inform Stephanie Thornton’s 3kg claim to reduce her weight to 56.5kg and would respect.

No6 SENSATION ALLY showed plenty of speed to lead throughout before scoring a dominant win over 1600m at Pakenham on February 15. She drops a kilo to 58.5kg here and she does not boast as good a record here. But her form is strong.

VALUE RUNNER: No6 SENSATION ALLY

R5 – 8.30pm. Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge Heat 14 – 955m.

Gets top apprentice Stephanie Thornton to ride again and her 3kg claim reduces his weight to a mere 54kg. The five-year-old mare hails from a noted staying yard and carries only 2kg more than she did last time when winning by 1.75 lengths here. Hard to beat.

No11 POPPIHOLLA has become something of a bridesmaid but is too honest to dismiss here with five placings at past five starts.

No5 MIDAS MAN with three wins and two seconds from his past five starts, can’t go past here.

No10 CORRS has been most reliable on country tracks with two wins from past three starts. Drops 3kg to 55kg on last win at Ballarat.

VALUE RUNNER: No10 CORRS

R7 – 9.30pm. The Drain Man Summer Sprint Series Final – 1200m.

No2 TRIBAL WISDOM (BEST BET) is from the stable of the hot Mike Moroney and with apprentice Fred Kersley’s 2kg will have his weight dropped to 59kg here. No11 SCOLIARO with the blinkers going back on would watch after a solid last-start second over 1200m at Sandown on February 14. The 2kg claim of Ethan Brown reduces the weight to a casual 55.5kg – a half-kilo less than last start.

No2 TERINDAH with Chris Caserta’s 2kg claim will carry 59kg. Was under a lot of pressure in the straight but fought hard to run third over1217m at Moe on February 18. Carried 59kg that day and is hardy.
