The two finals of the Summer Sprint and Stayers series are the highlights of tonight’s eight-race card at Moonee Valley.
Five-year-old mare Diamond Grace has been in sensational form with three wins and two placings from her past five starts in the Stayers Final (Race 6).
She brilliantly won a heat by 1.25 lens of the series over 2500m at her last start on February 9.
Budding apprentice Stephanie Thornton again rides and her three kilo claim is again used to advantage dropping her weight to a mere 54kg on a 55kg limit.
Tribal Wisdom looks to be a strong chance fresh in the Sprint Final (Race 7).
The rail will be shifted from the True to two metres this week. The track is rated as a Good 4 (Wednesday) and should remain so with clear weather forecast.

No4 GHEEDAA must respect on exposed form in a race where there is not a lot of disclosed form. Was heavily backed into a $3.10 favourite before running second over 1200m at Sandown on February 14. Was beaten in a close finish.
No5 METRONOME was easy in the betting before running a top second over 1200m here on February 2. Top apprentice Stephanie Thornton again rides and will carry no weight with the 3kg claim reducing her handicap to 53kg.
No1 JAY JAY D’AR was specked from $13 into $10 before steaming home for a narrow win over 1000m here on February 16. She does cop a 2kg penalty for the win rising to 58kg but has a good draw in four.
No3 SUNDARBANS just missed the major money at her debut in a driving finish with Jay Jay D’Ar over 1000m here on February 16. She does go up a half-kilo to 56.5kg but ace jockey Dwayne Dunn keeps the ride.

No2 CEYLON has scored two impressive wins from her past three starts. Latest she edged to a half-length win over 1600m against her own sex at Pakenham on February 8. She does cop a 2kg penalty and is up in weight to 58.5kg but has Dwayne Dunn again.
No1 ASTARA was trapped deep last start and finished off well to run fifth over 1600m against her own sex at Caulfield on February 21. Ethan Brown replaces Stephanie Thornton tonight at her debut at Moonee Valley. Chance.
No6 DIVINE COMMAND has the runs under her belt and gave a good sight when running second to the hot favourite Vungers over 2040m here on February 23. Has no weight on 52kg with the 3kg claim of Liam Riordan.
No7 ISLE OF CAPRI won a Newcastle maiden over 1400m impressively three starts ago. Last start ran a great second over 1600m at Sandown on February 14. Drops 2kg to 555kg and gets new rider Michael Walker.

No10 MAWZOONA won two races impressively at Mornington and Kilmore and was resuming from a six-week break when finishing a good fifth over 1200m here on February 16. She was backed from $9 into $7.50. Good chance.
No3 RUNAWAY is coming out of Sydney Group company after being given a 24-week spell. From the stable of Waterhouse and Bott and could gain nothing from eighth in 1050m trial at Randwick on January 12. Not in Melbourne to play marbles.
No6 BRANKSOME CHIMES has been ultra consistent and with Brad Rawiller to ride can go one better than last time when finishing second over 1000m here on February 9. He had won his prior start in a maiden well at Ballarat. Good showing.
No4 BADUZZI was resuming from a four-week break when running a good third over 1200m here on February 16. She gets the inform Stephanie Thornton’s 3kg claim to reduce her weight to 56.5kg and would respect.

No10 MONTASER has been a model of honesty with two wins and two placings at four starts. Latest was smashed into a $2.80 favourite when romping home by 1.75 lengths over 1400m at Sandown on February 14.
No5 PERUGGIA worked hard and edged clear in the last few strides to score a courageous win over 1600m here on February 9. Key stable rider Brad Rawiller rides again and he only goes up a half-kilo to 58.5kg. Strong backing here.
No2 GREVISTE was plunged into a $2.70 favourite when finishing a good second over 1523m here on February 9. Again carries 60kg but has a wide alley to cross this time around from gate 12. Winning hope.
No6 SENSATION ALLY showed plenty of speed to lead throughout before scoring a dominant win over 1600m at Pakenham on February 15. She drops a kilo to 58.5kg here and she does not boast as good a record here. But her form is strong.

No6 SPRIGHTLY LASS has made quite an impact at her brief career unbeaten in NSW and winning and being placed second at her two starts in Victoria. She has won at this track and has a perfect record fresh, returning from a 12-week spell here.
No5 MATTY is a razor sharp sprinter resuming from a 49-week spell. He has abundant speed recording three wins from his five starts and he has won at this track over 1000m. He is unbeaten first-up and would keep most safe.
7 HENNING has won twice and finished in the placings at three other starts from past five efforts. Comes here off a narrow win over 1000m at Pakenham on February 8. Gets 3kg claim to reduce his weight to a mere 52kg.
No8 RODDANDTODD showed great speed to post an effortless 3.75 length win over 955m here on February 9. That was his debut at this track and will again carry 55kg and has Declan Bates to keep riding.

No4 DIAMOND GRACE (NEXT BEST BET) was a brilliant winner of a heat of this series over 2500m here on February 9. Gets top apprentice Stephanie Thornton to ride again and her 3kg claim reduces his weight to a mere 54kg. The five-year-old mare hails from a noted staying yard and carries only 2kg more than she did last time when winning by 1.75 lengths here. Hard to beat.
No11 POPPIHOLLA has become something of a bridesmaid but is too honest to dismiss here with five placings at past five starts.
No5 MIDAS MAN with three wins and two seconds from his past five starts, can’t go past here.
No10 CORRS has been most reliable on country tracks with two wins from past three starts. Drops 3kg to 55kg on last win at Ballarat.

No2 TRIBAL WISDOM (BEST BET) is from the stable of the hot Mike Moroney and with apprentice Fred Kersley’s 2kg will have his weight dropped to 59kg here. Went out on a winning note over 1400m at Flemington on November 9 and can return on a high. Loves this distance and has a great record fresh of two starts for a win. Drawn well in gate five.
No10 SAVAJU has been racing well at this track with a narrow win over 1200m against her own sex here two starts ago before finishing second over the same trip on February 16.
No8 SABOTAGE drove hard but was narrowly beaten by a stakes-winner here last time. Respect.
No5 PETITE’S REWARD with the 3kg claim of Stephanie Thornton will carry 55.5kg – the same weight she carried to win here last start.

No1 MOONLIGHT RUBY (BEST ROUGHIE) has been in splendid form on the country tracks with two successive wins. Latest he dug deep in a two-horse war to win over 1000m at Pakenham on February 1. With Stephanie Thornton’s 3kg claim carries 58kg.
No11 SCOLIARO with the blinkers going back on would watch after a solid last-start second over 1200m at Sandown on February 14. The 2kg claim of Ethan Brown reduces the weight to a casual 55.5kg – a half-kilo less than last start.
No2 TERINDAH with Chris Caserta’s 2kg claim will carry 59kg. Was under a lot of pressure in the straight but fought hard to run third over1217m at Moe on February 18. Carried 59kg that day and is hardy.
