Not the most memorable of programs with four ordinary maidens from an eight race card tonight.
There does appear to be some stand out bets though with a lack of depth in the lowest grade with Mujaadil looking the best prospect to break-the-ice tonight in Race Five.
Spirit Of Phoenix is a lightly raced daughter of Von Costa De Hero, who looks to have a good tap of ability and she has made an impact already at her two starts back from a spell – winning strongly over 1400m at Ballarat first-up. She ran a great second here at her debut at Pakenham over 1400m against her own sex on February 15. She drops a kilo to 58kg in the sixth race and Luke Nolen keeps the ride.
The False Rail will be moved back to the three-metre position for tonight’s card. The track is rated as a Good 4 (Tuesday). With fine weather forecast the rating should stay unchanged.

No10 UPTOWN GAL on her city form looks too classy for this bunch first-up. Trainer Robbie Laing has warmed her up with two gate trials over 800m at Cranbourne and with ace rider Damian Lane to ride looks a top chance.
