Doomben (Wednesday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Doomben. Today’s best bet is in race 2.

Mon, 12 Mar, 11:04 AM

Doomben again for a midweek meeting this time but at least it gets a rest this Saturday. The false rail is out between eight and nine metres but the fields are relatively small. There are storms and rain about so watch the weather closely. At best the track will be soft.

QUADDIES (races 5-6-7-8)

Skinny Play:  2,6/2,4/2,3/3,6

Wide Play:  1,2,3,6/2,3,4,7/2,3,7,9/2,3,6,9

Next Best Bet: R6 – 4. CABEIRIAN

Best Roughie: R1 – 8. INSTANT'S HONOUR

R1 - 12.53pm. WWW.BRC.COM.AU Maiden Plate - 2240m.

No6 THOUGHT PROCESS Lightly raced and good second last time at the Gold Coast over 1800m. Step up in trip is a help.

No8 INSTANT'S HONOUR (BEST ROUGHIE) Should be big odds here but is another lightly raced sort who improved for last-start second over 1800m at the Gold Coast last Saturday.

No10 RISEUPSKATING Was out of his class last start when third this trip at the Sunshine Coast. Ready to win.

No2 SCHWARZY Has had a few chances but strong effort when second this trip at the Sunshine coast last start.

R2 - 1.28pm. Hamilton Hotel Two Year Old - 1110m.

No6 I'M ROSIE (BEST BET) Lived up to two nice trials when she won at Lismore at her first race start. This isn't much harder and she shows plenty of ability.

No2 HOT GAMBLER Trialled well before unlucky third at first run at the Gold Coast. Go close here.

No1 GRAND DE LAGO Placings at Toowoomba and Ipswich either side of a Dalby win. Has each-way claims here.

No9 PEERLESS CRUISE First starter who was just fair in the trials. Stable has a lot of luck with her breed who are all very good on wet tracks.

R3 - 2.04pm. Gallopers Sports Club Fillies and Mares Maiden Hcp - 1350m.

No7 SIREEANNA Didn't have much luck when fourth at the Gold Coast last start. On that run is a big chance in this weak race.

No4 CRYSTAL AMOR Has had her share of chances but third this class at two most recent runs which is better form than most of these.

No9 LA FIREBIRD Form last campaign was just fair but has the rails barrier here and we liked her recent second in a Gold Coast trial. Respect.

No1 WAKATA Just a run when fifth at Ipswich last time but has some previous handy trial and race form so has each-way claims here.

R4 - 2.38pm. ASCOT GREEN Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Handicap - 1350m.

No1 RIDGWAY Has been placed five times in Victoria but recent form there only average. However did trial very well at the Gold Coast recently and a top hope here.

No2 REACHER Race form is solid enough and no luck last time when mid field at the Gold Coast. If he ever lives up to his trial form he will win a race.

No4 THE DANGER Hasn't finished worse than fourth at his past five starts. Just seems to lack something in the final 50m but overdue for a win.

No5 FOXY AFFAIR Consistent this class with a good first-up third at the Sunshine Coast in a similar race to this. Fitter now.

R5 - 3.13pm. Blokes Day Out Benchmark 75 Handicap - 1200m.

No2 APOLOBOOM Scratched here on Saturday for this. Resuming here but has trialled well and won twice on wet tracks.

No3 DENARIUS Forget past two runs when had no luck. Likes this track and distance and this is the weakest race he has been in for a while.

No6 CASCATA ROSSA Resuming here but has trialled nicely and had good Sydney and Brisbane form last time.

No1 TAILLEVENT Was racing in good company before a spell where wasn't disgraced. Has won a recent trail at the Gold Coast in very good style, rates highly here.

R6 - 3.48pm. Mount Franklin Class 2 - 1110m.

No4 CABEIRIAN (NEXT BEST BET) Has always shown a lot of promise and win two on end before last-start fifth in Sydney in a good Randwick field. No trial for resuming here but has had a jump out. Very hard to beat here.

No7 ADORADANCER Resuming but has raced well in good Saturday class races and won a recent Deagon trial in good fashion.

No2 ALL PLUCK No star but they don't come more consistent with two seconds and then a Sunshine Coast win this campaign.

No3 LOVE YA MRS Has shown a bit of ability and too strong for a weak field at Toowoomba last start. Looks an improver.

R7 - 4.23pm. Weddings At BRC Class 3 Hcp - 1350m.

No3 DELAWAR Has been consistent and won at Ipswich before not having much luck when last start Sunshine Coast third.

No9 WILD AVA Not very big so suited down in the weights here. Rarely far from the place money this type of race.

No2 SALMANAZAR Not a bad third at Ipswich last start but is starting to get costly. Give one more chance here.

No7 SO INVINCIBLE Handy fifth in a much tougher race this track last start. A repeat would see him in the finish here.

R8 – 4.00pm. Sky Thoroughbred Central Benchmark 65 Hcp - 1650m.

No6 ARAZONA Racing very well with two wins and a second past three starts. Scratched Saturday to run here and hard to beat.

No9 ARGIE BARGIE Strong win at the Sunshine Coast last start and this isn't much harder. Stable is in great form.

No3 ROBBERS COBBER Scratched at the barriers last start and dropping back in distance here. But recent form solid enough to win this.

No2 LE DUDE Honest and placed past two starts in similar races at the Sunshine Coast. Each-way again here.
