Morphettville (Saturday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Morphettville. Today’s best bet is in race 4.
With partly-cloudy weather predicted for the end of the week in Adelaide, the Morphettville track should race well with the rail at the True position. A Good3 or Good4 track is expected following last Monday’s bumper Adelaide Cup meeting.
The powerful McEvoy and Stokes stables look to be the ones to follow. Both have several excellent chances across the meeting with McEvoy’s best hopes being Shrouded In Mist and Boxed On Collins for a Quinella result in Race 5, and Despatch who looks close to a ‘good thing’ in the last. Stokes’ best of the day looks to be the ultra-consistent It’s A Myth in Race 2.

No3 SILENT WARRIOR (NEXT BEST BET) Improved by two solid runs just behind the placings this campaign and should relish the step up in distance third-up. Won 1700m Gawler Maiden Oct. 11 and Morphettville Parks 1950m BM70 in previous campaign and this looks an ideal target for him with Jason Holder in the saddle.
No1 SAGAAB Has been right in the finish of four runs since beating Art Music 1712m Gawler BM60 60.5kg Good4 Jan. 21. Hit the lead momentarily before being swamped by Lieder 2004m this track Good4 54kg last Monday. Chance on the quick back-up.
No5 SANDISON Has a win and two placings from only three starts and will be in the finish again. Battled back strongly when 0.7 length second Bendethera 1550m Morphettville Parks Maiden 58kg Good4 Feb. 14 then sprinted away for 3 length win over Ticket To Texas 1700m Gawler Maiden 58kg Feb. 28.

No13 IT’S A MYTH Placed at five of her six starts and deserves a change of luck. Was having her first run for nearly a year when trapped deep and pushed wide on the track turning when solid half-length second M’lady 1000m Maiden Morphettville Parks Good4 55kg last Saturday. Backing up quickly so she must have come through the run well. Drawn better this week.
No6 COPPERGATE Coming off a 55-week break and has been trialing well for his return. Came from midfield on debut when strong 2 length second Jukebox 1200m Inglis Premier Caulfield Good3 57kg Feb. 4 2017, then caught wide when 5 length seventh Eshtiiraak 1300m Sandown Super Bovis 2Yrs two weeks later. Strong first-up showing is expected.
No11 BIG CALL (BEST ROUGHIE) Has been placed at Doomben, Scone and Cessnock from only seven starts and worthy of consideration here. No luck when seventh Our Winnie 1400m Scone Maiden Soft 5 Dec. 30 then led but over-run final 200m when 2len third White Boots 1570m Cessnock Class 1 Jan. 9. Dropping back to Maiden grade here and claims 2kg for apprentice Clark.
No8 SASKO Just behind the placegetters at only two runs in Balaklava Maidens over 1600m last September. Has the benefit of a recent trial and while he’s probably looking for more ground, he could be a knock-out chance first-up with Huxtable’s 3kg claim.
VALUE RUNNER: No11 BIG CALL
R3 – 1.31pm. James Boag's Premium Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate – 1000m.
