Ballarat (Tuesday) Betting Preview & Tips
Betting tips for every race at Ballarat. Today’s best bet is in race 7.
With showers forecast across the two days prior to Tuesday’s Ballarat meeting there is a great likelihood that the ‘sting’ will be out of the ground. However, The Club is predicting a Good4 with conditions on the day forecast as “Partly Cloudy”. The rail will be out 3metres from the 600m to the Winning Post.

No7 LOVEWITHOUTTRAGEDY (NEXT BEST BET) Runner-up at three of six starts and gets her chance to break through here. Held up for a run before finishing strongly for 1.25-len second to Guess Again in a 1100m Kyneton Maiden on Feb 21, then led from wide gate but over-ran late when half-length second to Lucky Reward on Mar 7th. Perfectly drawn and rates highly.
No10 SALTY KISSES
No1 EXOCET ROCKET
VALUE RUNNER: No10 SALTY KISSES
R2 – 2pm. 2-Year-Old Maiden – 1200m.
No9 ROCK TYCOON Unraced colt by Written Tycoon out of the former quality racemare Rock Princess who won eight races from 33 starts and was a sister to the Group winner Macedon Lady. Hasn’t been seen at trials but is from the powerful Mick Price stable and Damien Oliver has the ride. Plenty of pointers for a strong first-up showing from a perfect inside draw.
No7 MR GRIZZLE
No1 AURORA CHARM
VALUE RUNNER: No7 MR GRIZZLE
R3 – 2.30pm. Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate – 1200m.
No13 WARTIME LOVERS Well-bred filly who had excuses each of two starts to date and gets her chance to show her best in this class. Resumed from 43-week break as $3 chance when caught deep and steadied at 700m finishing 7.6-len sixth to Crystal Wings over 1100m at Wangaratta on March 3rd. Out of the former ‘flying machine’ Military Rose who won first five starts, including the Magic Millions 2-Yr-old Classic and Reisling Slipper Trial. Should be ready to fire.
No8 SUPERIOR ROSE
VALUE RUNNER: No2 CHAMPENOISE
R4 – 3pm. Super Vobis Maiden Plate – 2000m.
No11 HAYLIN ROUGE Knocking on the door of a win following three placings in this campaign and blinkers go on first time here. Couldn’t sprint with them at top of straight but worked home doggedly when 2.6-len third to Silverhawk at Mujaadil over 1600m, then raced outside leader and fought on gamely for 1.75-len third to Sopressa at Kyneton on Mar 7th. Should race handy from inside draw and will take running down.
No5 DEWRINKLER (BEST ROUGHIE)
VALUE RUNNER: No4 CAERUS
R5 – 3.30pm. Fillies and Mares BM64 Handicap – 1400m.
No4 UPTOWN GAL Classy customer who was unplaced twice in Group company then had 19-week break before resuming with a most impressive 2.25-len win over Champenoise in a Fillies and Mares Cranbourne Maiden on Mar 9th. Placed at Caulfield, Sandown, Sale and Cranbourne four of previous five outings and looks the one to beat.
No3 LADY LEE
No1 ANGELIC SPIRIT
No6 PLAY THAT SONG
VALUE RUNNER: No3 LADY LEE
R6 – 4pm. BM58 Handicap – 1100m.
No6 FONT MAGICA Has been brought along quietly with two trials for new trainer since 11th to Journeygirl in a Sandown Lakeside Fillies and Mares race in August. Had run good races in town previously and was a winner at Cranbourne on last April. Should be ready to win first-up dropping back to easier BM58 grade.
No1 HE’S THE SHERIFF
VALUE RUNNER: No1 HE’S THE SHERIFF
R7 – 4.30pm. BM 64 Handicap – 1600m.
*SCRATCHED* No3 HERE COMES LENNI (BEST BET) Promising type who placed at his first three runs before a spell then resumed with a solid 2.9-len seventh to Won Won Too over 1400m here on Feb 6th. Improved to easily account for Tan Check in a Benalla Maiden on Feb 23rd. Should be right at his peak now and being by Tavistock the extra distance will be in his favour.
No4 KEYSER SOZE
No2 SEUL SPIRIT
No1 FREE WILLY
VALUE RUNNER: No2 SEUL SPIRIT
R8 – 5pm. BM64 Handicap – 1200m.
No7 REILMARTINI Created a huge impression winning by 2.25-len over Kev’s Lad and Mia Georgia over 1100m in a Ballarat Maiden on debut in Feb, then took lead inside 200m and fought back gamely for 2.75len third to Scoliaro, at Moonee Valley on March 2nd. Will continue to improve and looks the one to beat with in-form Dean Yendell in the saddle.
No4 NONE BETTER
VALUE RUNNER: No6 FAOLAN
