Albury (Friday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Albury. Today’s best bet is in race 6.

Wed, 21 Mar, 11:03 AM

Albury is the meeting to be previewed here today for their cup day, where we have 8 races on the card here with good fields through the day. The Cup is a touch disappointing but the other fields look to be good betting races, some rain around which could cut up the inside. Rail true, good to soft.

QUADDIES (races 5-6-7-8)

Skinny Play:  2,9  -  4,12  -  1,5,6  -  5

Wide Play:  2,3,7,9  -  2,4,12  -  1,2,3,4,5,6,10  -  1,4,5,6,9

Next Best Bet: R8 – 5. GENS MISS

Best Roughie: R1 – 4. CINCITY

R1 – 1.25pm. Wilson Transformer Maiden Plate - 1175m.

No5 FLIGHT COMMANDER did a very good job on speed at Canberra, that race should be good form wise as the figures were good.

No4 CINCITY (BEST ROUGHIE) has the first start for the new trainer here and comes out of a fast trial, where he did enough.

No6 FOX BEAT has been going quite well this time in, and should give punters another good run here.

No8 MISS FORBIDDEN has come out of what looks to be two good maidens at the past two starts.

R2 – 2.00pm. Lucruf Super Flat Knacker Showcase - 900m.

No3 JUST A BULLET won the flat knacker last year and Cav has won the last four or five. He is going quite well for this.

No2 HIGHLY GEARED was strong on pace in the Camerena last start, take out the winner who was in another postcode and she was good.

No1 BULLPIT actually started his career at Albury and is a short-courser through and through, weight no issue.

No7 LUCY ROSE should be much better suited back in distance here, she didn’t run the 1200m last start.

R3 – 2.35pm. Lexus Of Wodonga Class 3 Handicap - 1500m.

No3 NEWTOWN IS COMING should be much fitter for the first-up run at Canberra in what should be a good race, up to 1500m suits.

No5 VIGORISH didn’t have the best of luck at Canberra when beaten in a close finish. Hard to beat again.

No6 LAWTON JOSEPH arguably should have won at Wagga last start, three weeks between runs up to 1500m suits.

No2 DANETRILLE was never a factor fresh and should be much better back down in grade here.

R4 – 3.10pm. Adrian Ledger Memorial – Benchmark 65 Showcase Handicap - 2400m.

No6 CARLISTOS doesn’t have the best set up here, but is well weighted and looks to be a horse on the up.

No2 DOOGANS RISE has been going quite well as of late and carried a big weight last start when running well at the Valley, 2400m no issue.

No9 HAUNTED STREAM would have been aimed at this race from the start of this prep, good luck to the Ledgers.

No1 BLUE JANGLES won this race last year and has been going quite well this time in.

R5 – 3.45pm. Baxters Concrete City Showcase Handicap - 1175m.

No2 CHA CHA KING is going quite well this time in and looks to get a good run just behind the pace here.

No9 O’ SO HAZY has her lead up run to the Country Championships final here and has a wide gate to contend with, but will roll forward.

No3 BRING A SECRET was good in the National Sprint in Canberra last start and should be hard to beat here.

No7 FLORELLE resumes here and hasn’t had a trial, the fresh record is quite good and I’m respecting her.

R6 – 4.25pm. Commercial Club Albury Gold Cup - 2000m.

No14 NOTHIN’ LIKE HARRY (BEST BET) I am either insane or a genius tipping this horse, he is horribly handicapped. But what he has is untapped potential and looks to be a city horse. I love that they are throwing him in the deep end here, he gets a good run on the map and could well explode here.

No4 SIN TO WIN is the logical danger here and has been going quite well this time in.

No2 SURVIVED is in the right grade here and has been going well enough as of late.

No9 REIBY THE RED has been going quite well as of late and should be much better suited up to 2000m.

R7 – 5.05pm. Jayco Albury Guineas Benchmark 70 Handicap - 1400m.

No5 UPTOWN LILLY has been doing a good job this time in and finds a weaker race than the one she ran and won in last start.

No1 UP TRUMPZ closed off well at Canberra last start in a high rating race and should run well again here.

No6 BURDEN OF PROOF wasn’t too far off them last start, behind the likely Oaks winner, this is much weaker.

No10 I AM KALANI blew out late fitness wise fresh and should be much better here coming out of a good race.

R8 – 5.45pm. Class 2 Showcase Handicap - 1000m.

No5 GENS MISS (NEXT BEST BET) is a flying machine and has trialed up in brilliant order coming into this, the wide gate shouldn’t be an issue at all for her as she will jump run along, and Prest will direct her to the best part of the track.

No9 WYANGLE has trialled well coming into the fresh run here, and was a good winner at this track.

No6 FRAMEWORK was a good winner on debut in December and has trialled well coming into the fresh run.

No4 SQUIDENSQUIZZ comes out of that same trial as Gens Miss and wasn’t too bad there, but cannot turn the tables, but is a place hope
