5 Bets to help you get on top of your weekend
We've gone through the tips from our experts for this weekend and compiled what we think are the best ones to help you come out on top.
NRL - St George Illawarra Dragons vs Cronulla Sharks
The Tip: Euan Aitken to Score a Try
Why: Aitken has scored in four of five matches so far this season. As well as this, he has three tries in his past three matches against the Sharks. With the Dragons' humming, we expect Aitken is likely to continue his streak of try-scoring form.
Horse Racing – G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m)
The Tip: Happy Clapper to Place @ $2.05*
Why: With Winx almost certain to take out her 25th in a row, there is plenty of value to be found in the place market. Happy Clapper was a brilliant winner in last week's Doncaster Mile and maps reasonably well again here. He’s only missed the top 2 twice from his last 10 runs and maps reasonably again here so should be a good chance at filling one of the place spots.
Horse Racing – G1 Sydney Cup (3200m)
The Tip: Who Shot Thebarman to Place @$4.20*
Why: He has been working well towards this run and is ready for the 3200m trip. Has a good record over this distance and beat a few of these over the Spring in his Moonee Valley Cup win. Also has a good pull in the weights - 4kg better off than the last time he met Almandin when he lost by under 1.5 lengths.
EPL - Tottenham vs Manchester City
The Tip: Tottenham to Win @ 3.20
Why: Spurs are now unbeaten in their last 12 home games, with 10 of these being victories. City, meanwhile, have lost fourof their last six in all competitions, including each of their last two against a similar standard of opposition in Liverpool and Man Utd.
NRL - Penrith Panthers vs Gold Coast Titans
The Tip: Gold Coast Titans +7.5 @ $1.91*
Why: Gold Coast arguably has come through the best formline in the NRL with their only two losses being against unbeaten duo St. George Illawarra and New Zealand. After another reasonably impressive win against Manly last week, 7.5 points seems to be a generous line against a Penrith team who has been a little inconsistent.
