Sunshine Coast (Saturday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Sunshine Coast. Today’s best bet is in race 2.

Thu, 12 Apr, 11:16 AM

A rare Saturday metropolitan meeting at the Sunshine Cost with good size fields and plenty of chances in most. The rail is in the true position which hasn't been raced on for some time. It should negate some of the advantage horses have getting to the crown of the track. Again without wanting to sound like a broken record, watch out for a turn in the weather.

QUADDIES (races 6-7-8-9)

Skinny Play:  2,3,8/1,3,4/2,9/3

Wide Play:  2,3,8,12/1,3,4,11/2,5,6,9/2,3,4,8

BEST BET: R2 – 4. Pinch Memory

Next Best Bet:  R9 – 3. Gracida

Best Roughie: R8 – 9. King Ragnar

R1 - 12.12pm. Legrand-App-Electra Cable Benchmark 80 - 2200m.

No3 Irish Optimism Has been racing most consistently since coming from Sydney without winning. Fourth minor placing in a row when second at Doomben last time and looks ready to win.

No1 Chivadahlii Not a bad run last week in the Toowoomba Cup when midfield. Is near peak fitness and this is easier.

No2 Great Glen Didn't appear to handle the tricky track when fifth in a similar race at Toowoomba last start. Better this big track.

No5 Queen Of Wands Form doesn't look great but in a suitable race with a nice weight and a top jockey. Respect.

VALUE RUNNER: No5 Queen Of Wands

R2 - 12.47pm. Brilliant Lighting Two Year Old - 1200m.

No4 Pinch Memory (BEST BET) This is a very strong race in which to make a special but we really like this horse. Won at Doomben and then didn't go one metre on a wet track at Doomben but still managed a third behind two class horses.

No1 Blue Book Unbeaten in three starts and can lead or come from behind. Well drawn and won a recent Doomben trial.

No3 Mishani Hustler Went straight to the lead from a wide barrier and won easily at Doomben. Track bias helped him that day but this suits again.

No2 Hopes Eternal Never runs a bad race and was good when third first-up at the Gold Coast. Probably wants further now but watch for him late.

VALUE RUNNER: No2 Hopes Eternal

R3 - 1.22pm. Matelec Two Year Old - 1200m.

No3 Clockwise Resuming here without an official trial but good last campaign with a win at the Sunshine Coast and second at Doomben. Well drawn here.

No1 Miss Sara They don't come more honest than her and followed good Doomben win with unlucky fifth that track last start. Each-way again.

No4 Fish ‘N’ Snitz Has run minor placings at her past four starts in similar races to this. The barrier is no help.

No6 Zoom By Demolished a two year old field at Gatton at only start. This harder but respect the stable from a perfect barrier draw.

R4 - 1.57pm. OMNI Australia Class 6 - 1600m.

No2 Bergerac Won well at Toowoomba last week and far better this bigger track where he is unbeaten. Should win again.

No3 Trois Choix Good second this track behind a smart horse last month and has since trialled well for this.

No4 Constantine Heavily backed but got in wrong past of the track when well beaten at Doomben. Go on previous good form and better placed here.

No8 Hidden Gold Winner this track in weaker company. Loves this track and if it rains comes right into the better.

VALUE RUNNER: No4 Constantine

R5 - 2.37pm. IPD One Metro Win Hcp - 1400m.

No9 Mr Bellagio Has been dynamic in two recent wins with an unlucky fifth in between. Will get the run of the race from barrier three.

No6 Malmoosa Has been racing well of late with two wins at past three starts. Having first start this track but it should suit.

No3 Helarocity Has not lived up to early promise but it was a nice run when third at Doomben last start and this class suits.

No2 Fab's Cowboy Prolific winner in country Queensland facing a stiff task here but on best bush form would be a hope here. Won his past four mainly on dirt and sand tracks.

VALUE RUNNER: No6 Malmoosa

R6 - 3.17pm. Clipsal Open Hcp - 1400m.

No3 Fortensky Has not run a bad race in last seven starts and no luck last time when fourth at Doomben when hot lead too early. Can atone here.

No2 Dreams Aplenty Stakes winning gelding who likes to lead in his races. Resuming here but won a recent trial and ready to win.

No8 Monteux Best known as a stayer but has won twice first-up and has had two solid trials to get ready for this. Will be big odds but an each-way hope.

No12 Magnajoy We tipped her last start at odds and she disappointed. But that was on a surprisingly wet track and deserves another go on a firmer surface.

VALUE RUNNER: No3 Dreams Aplenty

R7 - 3.57pm. Go Electrical Listed Princess Stakes - 1600m.

No1 Skate To Paris Very honest and has been second at past three starts. Has twice been placed in stakes races and the 1600m should suit.

No3 Missybeel Sydney filly who won at Scone and then well beaten in a Group race at Randwick. Down sharply in class here.

No4 La Scopa Winner past two starts at provincial tracks and although up sharply in class looks a horse of the future.

No11 Impulsive Sydney filly whose form is only fair but this should suit on a big track at 1600m.

R8 - 4.37pm. Evolt The Electrical Evolution Three-Year-Old - 1200m.

No2 Johnny Whitesox No luck from a wide barrier when fourth at the Gold Coast in a strong race last time. Previous form was very good.

No9 King Ragnar (BEST ROUGHIE) Winner past two starts this track in easier company. Does like it here and should race well.

No5 Love And Rock It Looks a most promising horse who won easily this track in softer company last time. Will be storming home.

No6 Cabeirian Slipped at the start when second first-up and is a promising horse. Should be on the pace for a long way.

VALUE RUNNER: No9 King Ragnar

R9 - 5.12pm. Prysmian Australia Open Hcp - 1000m.

No3 Gracida (NEXT BEST BET) Good Doomben winner last time and has an excellent record this track and distance. Always a top chance these races.

No2 Privlaka Handy galloper on his day who has won three times first-up. No trial for this but chance wet or dry.

No4 Guard Of Honour Looks very promising and a strong Canberra winner last start when finished powerfully. This track should suit.

No8 Another Whiskey Struggling to regain his best form but has a light weight here and his record this track is very good.

VALUE RUNNER: No2 Privlaka
