Leg 1: Doomben Race 2
No. 7 - Secret Mo
Has been racing very consistently, not finishing worse than 4th in its last three races, and trialed very nicely at Eagle Farm on the 10th of April. In a tough race with not a lot of consistency, look for the runners which have been in and around the placings on a regular basis and Secret Mo does just that.
Pick 2: Randwick Race 2
No 8 - Miss Wonderland
Having her first start under a new trainer, Miss Wonderland looks to be a good chance. She's won 2 of 3 races when fresh and after almost a three month break, could be a good chance to do it again here. While her more recent races haven't been stellar results, they did have some pretty handy horses in them which have since gone on to do greater things. This form should tie in well into this race.
Pick 3: Doomben Race 4
No 2 - Savwell
Just couldn't quite run out the 2200m last start after looking like the winner. Dropping back to the 1600m and also a drop in grade should really help his cause and looks to have an edge over its rivals. Also has an excellent winning record, alread with four wins under his belt from just the nine starts.
Pick 4: Caulfield Race 4
No 3 - Kiwia
Kiwia gets a nice drop in grade from racing at a Stakes level. Last start only warmed up in the last few strides but now goes out to a more suitable 2000m race which he was crying out for. Last preparation was also a Group 3 winner at Caulfield, winning the Pipeline Cup only five starts ago.
Pick 5: Randwick Race 6
No 2 - Long Leaf
Long Leaf will love the extra distance over the mile. He ran a very reasonable race after racing wide in the Golden Slipper at a big price and last start came out of the pack gamely. The draw should see him settle just behind the leaders and could very well finish with a flurry with the extra distance.
Pick 6: Randwick Race 7
No 1 - Le Romain
Le Romain comes into this in peak fitness with two races under his belt this preparation and looks well suited over the 1400m. Has to contend with a tricky draw but has good early speed and crossed them all in this race last year from an outside draw. Can see him pushing forward early and taking off around the turn.
