Ballarat (Sunday) Betting Preview & Tips

Betting tips for every race at Ballarat. Today’s best bet is in race 6.

Fri, 20 Apr, 8:00 AM

Smart three-year-old Weapon looks poised to bounce back into the winner’s stall today in the sixth race.

The colt gets a serious drop in grade on his last start fifth to So Far Cool in the listed Bendigo Guineas (1400m) on April 7. The son of leading sire Written Tycoon has drawn perfectly in gate six and gets top jockey Ben Melham to ride for the first time.

He has shown plenty of ability with a record of two wins and a third at his seven starts and he was powering home last start over the 1400m at Bendigo.

The weather will be perfect with a fine day forecast of 23C. The track is rated as a Good 3 and the false rail will be at the six-metre position from the 600m to the winning post.
