Tuesday Racing Tips - 22nd May

We have three nice tips for you to have a crack at today including one that is still unbeaten.

Mon, 21 May, 7:00 AM

It’s racing at Wyong and Geelong today and we are banking on two of the best stables going around to get us the cash at the former. Kim Waugh along with Adrian Bott & Gai Waterhouse have a leading hand at the card and should be in thick of things. Our other tip for the day is at Geelong where we have identified one that is knocking on the door for a win.

Wyong is a Good 4 with the rail in the true position.

Geelong is racing on the synthetic surface with the rail in the true position the entire circuit.

Race 1 (Wyong) – 12:05pm Toukley Golf Club 3YO Maiden Handicap 1350m

This lightly raced Savebeel gelding looked impressive at his debut back in December and has had the benefit of two trials leading into his return here today. Out of the astute Waterhouse/Bott stable, RAKHISH has drawn perfectly in barrier one and will look to lead and give them something to catch. Has plenty of early toe and looks to have found the right race to break through for his maiden victory. Sticking with him to get the day off to a flyer.

Race 4 (Geelong) – 2:30pm Geelong Homes Maiden Plate 1900m

CLEO’S POET is still a maiden after nine attempts but has been very unlucky at his past couple starts and looks to have found the race to get the monkey of his back here today. Settled on the speed and loomed in the straight looking like the winner but he just failed to reel in the leader going down by a neck at Geelong a fortnight ago. Has drawn to get the run of the race and looks the one to beat in this very winnable event. Sure to have plenty admirers. The one to beat.

Race 8 (Wyong) – 4:25pm The Entrance Leagues Club Class 1 Handicap 1200m

This Kim Waugh-trained filly looked impressive when breaking through on this track last start and can go on with it now. OXFORD ANGEL settled with the leaders before gaining the upper hand in the final furlong to win by 1.7 lengths running away. Goes up to the 1200 metres but that shouldn’t be an issue as she was strong through the line and will definitely be in this for a long way. Has drawn a tad wide but has good gate speed which should see her cross the field and take a handy position on the speed. Looks ready to take the next step. Big show expected.
