Warwick Farm is the venue for our best bet of the day and although we have to wait until the final event on the card, we reckon it will be worth it. Sale and Balaklava have some potential gems going around too which will hopefully provide us with a fill-up on a great day’s racing.
Warwick Farm is a Good 4 with the rail out 5m 1000m to the winning post, 3m out the remainder.
Sale is a Soft 5 with the rail out 5m the entire circuit.
Balaklava is a Good 4 with the rail in the normal position.
Looks a two-horse race to start the program at Warwick Farm today but we like the Matthew Smith-trained SUNSUZIE who has race experience on her side and looks well placed here. Settled near the rear before coming home well to be beaten by 1.5 lengths on this track on her race debut a fortnight ago. Will strip fitter second-up and looks primed for another big effort. Sticking with her.
Lightly raced Snitzel filly SEASONS has placed at both of her starts to date and looks to have found the perfect race to break her maiden status here today. Beaten by a nostril at Canterbury last start and can atone for that narrow defeat. Won a trial at Randwick on the heavy a week ago. Looks a standout and sure to have plenty admirers.
Yet to win this preparation, MOSS ‘N’ BOLT has been very consistent and a touch unlucky not to have won this time in so we expect another big performance from this gelding here today. Go on his effort two starts back at Moe when coming home strong to be narrowly beaten half a length. Will be fit and ready to fire and looks perfectly placed to bounce back into the winners circle. Big show expected.
This mare (QUIDDICK) hasn’t had much racing and was very unlucky last start but can get that elusive win here. Settled in a midfield position before coming home strong to be beaten by less than a length at Gawler a fortnight back. Has drawn well and will be looking to have the last crack at them in the straight. Excels over the track and distance and looks a serious hope here today.
DESERT LORD is yet to miss a place from his three starts to date and is sure to be very competitive once again here today. Stormed home from an impossible position to be beaten by half a length on this track a fortnight ago in what was a huge effort. Go on his 3.4 length victory back at Wyong a month ago when giving his rivals a galloping lesson. Looks to have plenty of upside about him and will be hard to beat. Drawn well and is a big show.
We think MAGNESPIRT (NEXT BEST) is worth a go in this. Is dropping back to midweek company after going around in the race won by Written Choice at Caulfield on April 28. Had backing at odds that day despite coming up with a shocking gate. Is drawn eight here and has won on the track previously. Worth a ticket.
ROCKARRAL looks well placed and can bounce back after a last start disappointment at Murray Bridge. Will appreciate the step up to a more suitable distance that he has had success over in the past. Has won when second-up and he did race in some handy races last preparation, so this class will be to his advantage. Stable and jockey have a great strike rate when combining. The one to beat.
INQUIRY (BEST BET) looked impressive when winning at Hawkesbury when resuming from a break and sure to strip fitter second-up in the final event on the program. Led and proved a touch too smart for his rivals when winning by 2 lengths a fortnight ago and has won second-up in the past. Excels when racing over the distance and sure to be primed for a huge effort.
