Gosford is the scene for today’s three best bets and we feel that our form is spot on heading into the program Our best bet though is towards the end of the card so hopefully our two selections earlier in the card and fill our pockets heading into the seventh event.
Gosford is a Soft 5 with the rail out 3m from the 1100m to the winning post and true the remainder.
A lightly raced Commands filly out of astute Godolphin stable, POPULAR looks perfectly placed to bounce back into the winner’s circle here today. Settled at the rear of the field before coming home strong to go down by less than a length at Kembla a month back. Will strip fitter second-up and has had the benefit of a trial to freshen her up for this. Will be giving them a start but look out for her storming home late. Winning chance.
HIGH DUDE is racing in good form of late and looks ready to make a big statement here today. Looked good when beaten by half a length at Hawkesbury last start and can atone for that narrow defeat back in this suitable grade. Has drawn to get the run of the race and will be looking for the gaps to appear once they hit the straight. Has a good turn of foot and will be the one coming home hard late. Looks to have found the right race.
Looked impressive when storming home from the tail of the field to be beaten by long neck at Scone a fortnight ago, TIM’S PRINCIPAL (BEST BET) is sure to strip fitter today. Has a great record when racing second-up and excels on the track and over this distance. Will need luck in running as he likes to settle near the rear and be saved for one big run at them in the straight. Will be giving them a start but can storm over the top of them. Looks perfectly placed and the one they all need to beat.
