Randwick Racing Preview & Tips - Saturday 9th June
We have done our wet track form heading into the Randwick card on Saturday.
Sydney has been pummelled with rain over the past week so punters should be looking at wet trackers heading to Randwick on Saturday. One of our good things of the day is a noted mud lark and should be making it back-to-back wins!
Looks like we are on a Heavy 8 with the rail out 3m the entire course.
QUADDIE PICKS ( 6-7-8-9):
2,5,6,7 – 1,2,7,10 – 1,6,8,10 – 2,5,6,9
Race 1 – 11:25am Spring Carnival On Sale Handicap 1000m
Looking to rack up the hat-trick of wins in the opening event of the program here today, KING looks a good bet. Has proved too slick for his rivals winning his past two starts at Newcastle both over the 900m and despite the wide draw, should be in this for a long way. Has won on Soft so wet track won’t be an issue. Looks well placed and ready to fire.
1st: No1 KING 2nd: No2 Beidi; 3rd: No3 Beware; 4th: No8 God Of thunder
Race 2 – 12:00pm TAB Highway Handicap 1100m
GO THE GANTRY is just one of a stack of chances in an open Highway event. Will strip fitter second-up and has a good record in these wet conditions we face at Randwick today. Beaten by 3.7 lengths when resuming a fortnight ago but did give away a big start and made solid ground up late. Looks a great eachway bet and will be the one coming home late.
1st: No4 GO THE GANTRY 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No2 Territorial; 3rd: No5 The Lion; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No1 Larlabrook
Race 3 – 12.35pm #THERACES Handicap 1100m
Looking impressive since resuming from a break winning his two starts, REVENIRE can make it three on the trot here today. Stormed home when winning by 1.4 lengths on this track a month back and will be primed for a similar effort here. Out of the astute Godolphin stable this Lohnro colt looks ready to fire. Big show expected.
1st: No2 REVENIRE 2nd: No1 She Knows; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No6 Whooshka; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No3 Albumin
Race 4 - 1.10pm Winter Racing Handicap 2000m
ARAAJA (BEST BET) is drawn to get the run of the race and excels racing in wet conditions. Settled near the rear before unleashing a good turn of foot to be beaten by half a length at Rosehill a fortnight ago. Has a good record over the distance and will be the one storming home late. Rates on top.
1st: No2 ARAAJA 2nd: No6 Hallelujah Boy; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No1 Lovani; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No7 Vaucluse Bay
Race 5 – 1.50pm ATC Owner Benefits Card Mile 1600m
Sticking with the Kris Lees-trained BASTIA to make it successful victories here today. Has an exceptional record over the distance, winning four times and placing three from seven attempts. Has also won on the track and excels in these wet conditions. Ticks all the boxes, the one to beat.
1st: No5 BASTIA 2nd: No4 I Am Serious; 3rd: No7 Monasterio; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No9 Fierce Impact
Race 6 – 2.30pm TAB.com.au Handicap 2000m
Lightly raced Animal Kingdom filly LAUSSEL looked a touch unlucky at Warwick Farm last start and can atone for that narrow defeat here today. Has drawn a tad wide so look for jockey Jason Collett to try settle in a forward position with a bit of cover and have the last crack at them in the straight. Looks a lively hope in an open event.
1st: No7 LAUSSEL 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No5 Hemmerle; 3rd: No2 Jolly Honour; 4th: No6 Porky Pies
Race 7 – 3.10pm Stayer’s Cup 3200m
Sticking with the veteran DESTINY’S KISS (NEXT BEST) to take out the 3200-metre race and make it back-to-back victories here today. Stormed home from the tail of the field to win by half a length on this track a fortnight ago and will look to adopt similar tactics in this very winnable race. Drawn to get a cosy run and sure to be coming home hard. Loves the wet!
1st: No1 DESTINY’S KISS 2nd: No2 Doukhan; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No7 Mazaz; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No10 Mornington
Race 8 – 3:50pm June Stakes 1100m
I THOUGHT SO looked good when resuming from a spell on this track a fortnight ago and sure to strip fitter second-up here today. Made a late lunge on the finish line but just failed when beaten by a nose here last start. Has a good record over these conditions and looks a key player. Sticking with him.
1st: No6 I THOUGHT SO 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No10 His Majesty; 3rd: No1 Jungle Edge; 4th: No8 Perizada
Race 9 – 4:30pm Australian Turf Club Sprint 1200m
Looked a touch disappointing last start when beaten by 3 lengths at Rosehill but NOIRE looks perfectly placed to bounce back into the winner’s circle in the final event of the program here today. Has a good record over the distance and has won on soft in the past. Can atone for its last start effort and happy to give her another chance.
1st: No2 NOIRE 2nd: No9 Star Reflection; 3rd: No5 Fragonard; 4th: No6 Powerline
